Chapter 70

PARKER

Movement beside me wakes me up, and I open my eyes, already knowing what I’m going to find.

“Morning, pretty girl,” Linc breathes, his voice still raspy from sleep.

Desire pools between my thighs as memories from last night flicker in my mind.

Rett’s here.

I close my eyes again as I remember everything Linc said to me in the dark after he slipped into my bed.

The second I felt him, I knew it was stupid of me to assume he’d sleep in his own room.

He’s played incredibly well the last few games; I highly doubt he’s going to risk messing that up by changing his routine again.

Especially when he’s going up against Rett.

Neither of them is more competitive than when they’re on the ice together.

“Hey,” he says, reaching over and cupping my cheek. “Give me those beautiful eyes, babe.”

I want to fight him and refuse his demands, but I can’t.

My eyelids flutter open again, and I find his blue eyes gazing down at me.

“There she is,” he muses.

“What time is it?” I ask.

“Early.”

“You couldn’t sleep?”

He shakes his head. “Can’t stop thinking about last night. I’m sorry, Parker.”

“It’s okay. I won’t lie—it hurt me at the time, hearing you talk about me like I wasn’t important, but I get it. It’s the way it had to be.”

“I hate that he ruined our evening.”

“Enjoying that new table, huh?” I tease.

“Like you wouldn’t believe. Best purchase I ever made.” The wide smile he gives me makes my stomach clench. “I just wish it had the happy ending I was hoping for.”

I roll my eyes.

“You know you’d have been up for it,” he teases. “How are you feeling today after your shift on the ice yesterday?”

I stretch my legs out, testing for aches and pain.

“Surprisingly okay.”

“We’re gonna need to do that more often, babe. Best foreplay I’ve ever experienced watching you handle a stick.”

“Christ.” I laugh as he snuggles closer.

“Sexiest thing ever, watching you out there with my teammates,” he confesses, his lips brushing mine in the softest, sweetest kiss.

I moan as his tongue dances over my bottom lip. Without thought, I open for him. His tongue instantly pushes into my mouth, stroking mine.

I shift beneath him, needing to be closer still.

As our kiss continues, Linc’s hand begins to roam.

Tingles follow his palm’s journey across my body. My blood begins to heat, and my pulse picks up speed.

“Can’t get enough of you, pretty girl,” he muses against my lips as he pulls back slightly.

I whimper, unable to respond with words.

“Can I taste you?” he rasps.

Oh god.

My thighs clench, heat surging south at the thought of him down there, his tongue against my heated skin.

I nod, my teeth holding my bottom lip captive.

He lifts the covers and climbs fully on top of me.

His hips press against mine, forcing me into the mattress beneath me.

Resting on his knees with only his head visible from the sheets, he slides his hands up my side, pushing his shirt higher.

Ducking down, he kisses up my stomach, following the fabric as he exposes me.

By the time he gets to my breasts, my chest is heaving.

He groans as he licks up the underside of my needy breast and then sucks my hard nipple into his mouth.

I cry out as pleasure shoots through my body and straight to my clit.

Linc’s hand shoots up and covers my mouth, cutting off any noise.

“You’re going to need to be quiet, pretty girl.”

My eyes widen as reality slams back into me.

“Rett?” I whisper the second Linc’s hand slips away.

“In the guest room,” Linc explains.

It’s on the other side of the apartment. If he’s sleeping, he won’t hear a thing.

Linc switches sides and flicks my other nipple with his tongue. This time, I slap my own hand across my mouth to keep my moans in.

“Desperate for you, babe. I want you to come on my tongue. Can you be a good girl and do that for me?”

I nod frantically, widening my thighs in offering.

He chuckles as he kisses back down my stomach, disappearing beneath the sheets.

“Oh god, please,” I whisper, desire coiling inside me.

“Fuck, you smell so fucking sweet,” he groans, making my cheeks burn red hot.

Reaching down, I thread my fingers into his soft hair, gently pushing him toward where I really need him.

He doesn’t say a word, but a push of air rushes over my heated skin.

“You’re such a tease,” I hiss when he kisses down one of my thighs.

“Want to make sure you’re ready,” he muses.

Lifting the sheets with my other hand, I look down, watching.

I can’t see much, the room is still pretty dark, but what I can see is everything.

My body starts trembling as his lips close in on my core.

“Lincoln,” I moan, my fingers tightening in my hair when he switches to my other thigh.

He chuckles, but I don’t find it very fucking funny.

I’m desperate. He’s teased me with a good time, and now I need it more than I need my next breath.

This time, when he gets to the sensitive skin between my thigh and my pussy, he doesn’t stop.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

He licks me, entrance to clit, and I practically levitate off the bed.

Lying his forearm across my lower stomach, he pins me to the mattress before sucking on my clit.

Dropping the sheets, I cover my mouth with my hand again and cry out.

He teases me, learning what I like and what I don’t as he builds me higher and higher.

In record time, I’m balancing right on the edge. But just before I fall, he pulls back, leaving me gasping for air and chasing my lost release.

“You’re an asshole,” I hiss.

“It’ll be worth it,” he shoots back before diving back in. Only this time, he slides two fingers inside me, and as he laves at my clit, he finds my G-spot.

My body trembles violently, and I’m pretty sure I pull his hair clean from his head as I hold him in place.

“Yes, yes, yes,” I chant into my hand, my body like an inferno as my imminent release grows in intensity.

I lose sense of the noises I’m making, too lost in the pleasure that’s about to explode.

And the second it does…fuck.

I swear the world shifts on its axis as lights flash behind my eyes and my body convulses as he works me through the orgasm.

I’m just coming back to Earth, swimming in an ocean of pure bliss, when everything changes.

My brain doesn’t compute what happens; it’s like it’s in slow motion as the sheets are ripped from us, cool air rushing over my burning skin before Linc is dragged from the bed and thrown against the wall.

“You fucking asshole,” Rett bellows before he pulls his arm back and slams his fist into Linc's face.

“Rett, no,” I scream, scrambling from the bed as Rett pins Linc to the floor, his fist flying again.

I jump on my brother’s back, wrapping an arm around his throat and holding tight. It’s the only way I can think to stop him.

“Stop it. Please, just stop.”

Rett’s body vibrates with anger.

“Rett, please,” I sob, my voice cracking as I picture what Linc might look like right now.

My brother is powerful; he can cause real damage with just one punch.

But Linc isn’t exactly weak. He can hold his own.

As I cling to my brother, I realize that he isn’t retaliating.

“Get off him, please,” I beg.

“Fuck,” Rett grunts after a few seconds, and thankfully, his shoulders relax.

As he climbs from Linc, I release my hold and slide down his back to the floor.

The air is thick with tension and unsaid words.

“Oh my god,” I cry the second I see Linc on the floor with blood spilling from his nose and his eye already swelling.

“What the fuck, Rett?” I cry, grabbing a box of tissues from the vanity and dropping to my knees with a handful to try and clean him up.

“He was…you were…fuck. I fucking knew it,” Rett bellows, his deep voice bouncing off the walls surrounding us. “How long? How long have you been fucking my sister behind my back, Storm?”

Linc takes the tissue and stumbles to his feet.

A million and one words dance on the tip of my tongue, but none of them break free.

“It’s new,” Linc confesses. “Although my feelings for her aren’t.”

Rett frowns, his fists clenching and unclenching at his sides. He’s just waiting for a reason to go all over again.

“What?”

Linc shakes his head. “I’ve had feelings for her for years, Rett. You’ve just always been too blind to see it.”

Linc’s honesty floors me.

After last night, I guess I expected him to try and cover up the truth—if that’s even possible, after being caught in the act.

Oh god. My big brother stormed in while his best friend was eating me out.

“No. You both hate each other,” Rett argues, refusing to believe it.

Linc chuckles as if he hears a joke that no one else can.

“We tried hating each other,” Linc explains. “But we never really have. She’s the only girl I’ve ever truly wanted. No one else comes anywhere close to her.”

Reaching out, Linc entwines our fingers together and tugs me into his side.

I go easily despite Rett’s hard glare.

His brow is furrowed like he’s trying to solve a math problem that doesn’t make sense.

“And everything you said last night about her just staying here until she gets herself her own place?”

Linc shrugs his other shoulder. “It was true when she first moved in. Before we—”

“Started fucking.”

“We haven’t fucked,” I blurt like an idiot.

Now Rett looks equally confused as he does disgusted.

“Don’t lie to me, Parker. I know what I just saw. What I heard.”

I stand a little taller. “I’m not denying that we were doing something. But we haven’t fucked. Not yet.”

“Why?” he asks before he realizes what he’s asking and quickly backpedals. “Wait, no. Do not answer that.”

“We’re taking it slow,” Linc explains, making Rett’s brow shoot up as he glances at the bed beside us. “This isn’t some hookup that we’re going to walk away from and never think of again. It’s…real. Serious.”

“Fuck off. You want a serious relationship about as much as I do.”

“With anyone else, yeah. But with Parker…I want everything with her. I always have.”

“Why?”

“Because…because I’m in love with her.”
