Chapter 6

SIX

JULIAN

Ihad to admit, watching game footage and hearing Alex’s perspective was much more interesting than I’d thought it would be.

I couldn’t let him know that, however. This damn sport was getting to me—the camaraderie, the skill, the discipline.

I’d floated through life, working hard at my studies, yes, but I’d lacked discipline and my friends were all superficial.

If I wanted something, I threw money at it.

Then I’d sat through the team meeting and listened to the coaches talk strategy throughout dinner.

I’d grown tired of listening to discussions of hockey.

As I followed Alex to our room, I watched the sway of his muscled ass and thick thighs as the fabric of his sweats pulled across them.

Damn, the guy had an amazing body. I’d only been half joking when I’d offered to touch him.

But with the manner in which he looked at me, watched me dress—something significant was there.

I might uncover what it was tonight. The initial disdain I had for him was fading fast.

He opened the door and strolled into the main room. “Hey, want to watch a movie now?” His brows rose.

“Only if we can order ice cream and watch it in bed.” I raised the corner of my mouth. Would he go for it?

“Yeah, sure.” He picked up the room-service menu and scanned it. “What flavor ice cream do you want?”

That was easy. After stepping to his side, I examined the menu over his shoulder. “Hot fudge sundae.” Why settle for ice cream when I could have a sundae?

“That sounds good. I’ll get the same.” He set the menu down and ordered our food with the phone on the desk. “Okay, done.”

Swinging my arms, I ambled toward the bed and then crawled onto it. “Do you care which side you sleep on?” I had no preference, but some guys did. I pushed my back against the pillows at the headboard.

“Nope, don’t care.” He glanced at me, and his cheeks flushed pink. “Not gonna lie, this is rather awkward.”

“Why? The bed is enormous. We’ll both fit. It’s not a big deal.” I patted the bedspread beside me. Was he having second thoughts? I had to be careful, or I’d lose him to the couch bed. “Sit. Let’s see what movies they have.”

“All right.” After picking up the remote from the coffee table, he padded to the bed and sat beside me. “What sort of movies do you like to watch? Action? Comedy?” He turned the television on.

“I don’t care.” I inched closer to him. Would he move away?

He peeked at me and cleared his throat. “How about an action movie? A new one just released that I haven’t seen yet.” He flicked through the options on the television.

Knocking cracked through the air.

“Oh, our ice cream is here.” He hopped off the bed and returned with a tray. After setting it on the dinette, he brought two bowls with spoons to the bed. “Here.” He handed me my sundae.

“Thanks.” I scooped the spoon into the creamy fudge as it melted the ice cream underneath. “I don’t think I’ve had a hot fudge sundae since I was in high school.” In fact, since I’d been with Ian. Tightness wove through my chest. I wouldn’t think about him right now.

“Yeah?” He scooped ice cream into his mouth, letting the spoon slide between his lips as he pulled it free.

Fixating on the way his lips hugged the spoon, I squirmed as heat burned low in my belly. He had a sexy fucking mouth.

“You were dating Ian back then, right? Tell me more about that situation. How did it end again?” He ate more ice cream.

Staring into my sundae, I swirled my spoon through it. “He fell out of love with me.” My heart stung. “He followed me to Harvard and two years in, he just decided he didn’t love me anymore and transferred to Yale to get away from me.” I ate my sundae.

“Get away from you? That’s pretty harsh. But it looks like you’re good friends now.” He scraped his spoon along the side of his bowl.

“Yeah, well, he announced his transfer to Yale the same day he broke up with me. So, what do you think that says?” An ache grew in my chest. How had we gotten on this? Oh, my comment about the fucking sundae. I should have kept my mouth shut.

“Okay, maybe you’re right.” He ate the last of his ice cream and set his bowl on his nightstand. “What was his explanation?”

“There wasn’t any. I told you the extent of it. He told me he just didn’t feel it anymore, and that was it.” I huffed. “I wasn’t enough for him.” And had never been enough for anyone since.

“He never gave you any closure, and now you’re friends, so you have to see him with someone else.” He planted his big hand on my shoulder. “No wonder it still hurts.” His brows wrinkled. “You’re enough for someone, Julian. I promise.”

Lowering my bowl to my lap, I stared at him.

No one had ever told me that. As my eyes pricked, my vision blurred.

“I don’t know if I believe you. Guys like to use me.

They think I’m a good fuck and when they discover who I am, they want to see me again or date.

” And I’d never let them. Ian’s family was almost as wealthy as mine, so I hadn’t had to worry about him being after my money.

But I still hadn’t been enough to keep him.

“Julian.” He shifted closer to me. “I know how it can be. Hell, I’m a star hockey player for the team that won the Stanley Cup last year. Be cautious of people wanting to exploit you. But not everyone is.”

Hanging my head, I sniffled and wiped my eyes.

Why was I getting so emotional? Maybe I shouldn’t have drunk all those damn beers?

“And what if I’m not lovable? What if I’m spoiled inside?

A spoiled rich boy like you said. A man no one could love if I didn’t have money.

” Where the hell was this coming from? I had to stop.

“Julian…” He slid his arm around my shoulders and pulled me into his wide chest. “That’s not true. We’ve had our differences, but you have a lot to offer, even without the status and money.”

I swooned in his embrace. He was so strong and warm. I should stop this, but I couldn’t. “What do I offer?” I raised my head, my gaze locking on his, his stunning blue eyes and the pout of his lips.

His breath caught, and his gaze dipped to my mouth. “You…you’re…” As he planted his hands on my cheeks, his lips grazed mine and then pressed into a soft and needy kiss.

My eyes flew wide open. Fucking hell, he was kissing me. Me! With a soft moan, I slanted my mouth over his, my tongue slipping between his lips. As a shiver raced up my spine, my cock swelled, pushing at the band of my joggers. I hadn’t been with a man in so long.

“Fuck…” He bit my lower lip and pulled, and then placed his hand on my abs as he returned with a vengeance, devouring my mouth in searing kisses.

I dropped my bowl onto the bed, wrapped my arms around his neck and hauled him sideways onto the bed with him on top of me, his kisses growing more desperate.

He lay over me, his legs between mine, and rocked his hips, his hard cock rubbing mine through our clothes.

As pleasure pulsed inside me, my cock twitched and dribbled precum into my briefs. This would end in orgasms. It had to. I skimmed my hand down his back and under his sweats, grabbing his muscled ass, and squeezed.

With a groan, he nibbled my chin and placed biting kisses on the column of my neck. “Fuck, yes.” He rutted against me and his body shuddered.

“Can, can I touch you?” I needed so much more. I couldn’t stop. As I rolled my hips, sensation swirled up my spine.

“Yes, please,” he rasped, turning to the side, giving me access.

As our mouths met, I slipped both our sweats and briefs down and then left him for a second to spit into my palm before fisting our cocks.

This didn’t seem new to him. He knew what he was doing and wasn’t holding back.

As I stroked our cocks, he freed a throaty groan and hissed.

He was cut, like me. With his Russian history, I wasn’t expecting it.

“Feels good.” He claimed my mouth in a fresh round of hungry kisses, flicking his tongue against mine, while he thrust into my hand. “Faster.”

I quickened my pace as pleasure engulfed me, my climax nearing the raw edge. Leaving his insatiable lips, I asked, “Fuck, I’m close, are you?”

He nodded while a moan rumbled in his chest and he buried his face in my neck, sucking the sensitive skin.

As I tumbled over the edge, waves of pleasure surged over me, and my rhythm faltered. His cock jerked in my hand and as his hot cum spurted into my fist, my balls unloaded, mixing my cum with his. “Fuck, so fucking good,” I gritted out as the delicious spasms went on and on.

When it slowed, I fought to calm my breath. He wasn’t straight. He had clearly done this with men before. I released our spent cocks. Would he tell me the truth? “Let me get some tissues.”

“Or, how about a wet washcloth?” He rolled onto his back and planted the heel of his hand on his forehead. “Fuck.”

“Sure.” I hurried off the bed, set my ice cream bowl on the nightstand and strode into the bathroom.

How would he react? I’d been with questioning straight guys before.

I’d seen a few freak-outs. After quickly washing my hands, I wiped myself with a wet washcloth and then brought it to Alex.

“Here.” I glanced at the sofa. Would one of us sleep on it after all?

“You’re, uh, circumcised, but I thought you were born in Russia? ”

“Thanks.” He chuckled. “Yeah, my mom was born and raised mostly in the USA. It was her decision.” He cleaned himself and then threw the washcloth on the floor.

“I expect you want an explanation about what just happened.” With a wince, he straightened and shifted to the pillows at the headboard.

“Come here.” He patted the space next to him and hung his head.

“Okay.” I crawled in beside him. “You’re not straight.” I wouldn’t let him get away with a lie, but he looked pained. Why?

“No, I’m not.” He pulled his knees to his chest, resting his arms across them. “Occasionally, I hook up with men. But I make sure they don’t know who I am.”
