Chapter 12 #2

Alex wandered into my office. “You wanted to see me?” His hair was still damp and smelled of the lavender soap they used in the showers.

“I did.” Hopping from my chair, I snatched his arm, shoved him into the room, and then shut the door and propped a chair under the knob. Yeah, I was doing this. “You’re mine, Volkov.” As I turned, I pushed his chest, backing him against the wall.

As his back hit, he gasped and his eyes darkened. “I thought we were waiting until we were—”

I crushed his mouth in hungry kisses, my cock straining behind my zipper.

With my tongue slipping across his, I pulled his shirt up, exposing his rippled abs.

What should I do to him first? I teased a nipple into a hard nub and then skimmed my hand lower, beneath his joggers and underwear, and stroked his hard cock.

“Oh, fuck. Yeah…” His breath grew quick, and he rocked his hips, rutting his hot dick against my palm. “It’s been so long.”

“It has. Too long.” With my balls aching, I lowered, nibbling at his taut abs before crouching down and pulling his joggers and briefs over his cock, a bead of precum glistening at the tip as it sprang out.

“You’re already leaking.” I flicked my tongue across his slit, his salty precum filling my mouth.

With a harsh moan, he clutched my hair and pulled. “Yeah, well, it’s been a while.”

I sucked him into my mouth while wrapping my hand around the base, milking him. I had to make this quick before someone came looking for us.

“Oh my God, Julian. Yeah, that’s it.” He thrust into my mouth, and his cock twitched against my tongue.

As I flicked my tongue along his shaft, heat burned deep in my belly. Would there be time for him to reciprocate? I quickened my pace, swirling my lips on his crown and fondling his balls.

“Shit, close. Gonna come.” He yanked my hair and his knees dipped. As his cock swelled further, his balls lifted and then his dick twitched with quick spurts of hot cum.

I swallowed his release and moaned over him, my cock jerking in my slacks. Fuck, I could almost come just blowing him. I palmed my dick and squeezed the head. I couldn’t come in my slacks at work. How would I clean it up?

As his climax waned, he pushed me off him.

“Your turn. Hurry.” Slipping his hands under my armpits, he lifted me and then picked me up to set me on my desk.

As he unfastened my fly, he said, “I’ve been thinking about this every hour of every day.

” Dropping to his knees, he freed my cock and then plunged his mouth over it.

“Oh, fuck.” A shock of pleasure fired through all my nerve endings, and tingling erupted in my balls. I was so close already. “C-coming, Oh, God.” As a cry built in my throat, I slapped my hand over my mouth. I couldn’t be too loud.

He sucked quick and hard, his cheeks hollowing, and stroked my root.

Panting, my body exploded in sensation and then pulses of pleasure as my load gushed into his willing mouth.

I gasped and writhed over him until it finally slowed.

“Oh, holy fuck. Holy fuck.” Slumping over him, I ran my fingers through his damp hair.

It was quick, but it was damn satisfying.

I’d just seen a part of him Margot never would again.

He licked me clean, tucked me away, and then carefully fastened my slacks. “Was this all you wanted, or did you have another reason to see me?” With his brow quirked, he stood and cupped my cheek, planting a hard kiss on my mouth.

“That was pretty much it.” Shaking my head, I fought to clear the post-climax haze. As he backed away, I hopped off my desk. “How were things after the event last night?” I hated to harp on this, but I couldn’t help myself.

“Fine. It looks like Margot found a new friend in Stephanie. They both work in PR, so I guess they have a lot in common.” He sighed. “But I set the reporter straight, and after we went home, we went to bed.” With a smirk, he poked my shoulder. “In our own separate beds.”

“Good.” I sounded like a jealous nag, and I had to stop. “What’s on the agenda for the rest of the day?” I removed the chair from under the doorknob. Thank God no one had tried to get in. We’d taken quite a risk.

“Nap at home, and then I’ll return for the pre-game routines before the game against the Kracken tonight.” He swung his arms around my shoulders and dragged me into a warm hug. “We leave after tomorrow’s game for Vancouver.” He kissed the side of my head. “Can’t wait for my flowers and candles.”

“You remember that, huh?” My cheeks heated, and I buried my face in his neck. I had to keep my promise. My discussion with Mason flashed through my mind. I should tell him. “Hey.” I lifted my head, my gaze meeting his. “I think Mason knows.”

“Knows what?” He gave me a charming grin and swayed me in his arms.

“About us. Well, he suspects.” I gauged his reaction. Would he freak out or recognize that he wasn’t alone? Hell, he should already realize he wasn’t alone. Not with this team. He was right beside them the night all hell broke loose for Jett.

He stared at me, his lips parting, and the swaying stopped.

“Well?” He was freaking out. “Hey, I didn’t confirm his suspicions, okay? He wanted me to know he’d support us. We can speak with him if need be.” I peered at him.

He continued to stare and then shook his head and released me. “Fuck.”

“For the record, he thinks you’re straight. Well, he thought you were. He, uh, caught a vibe between us.” I huffed. “His words, not mine.” Maybe I should have deferred this conversation for another time instead of after blowjobs in my office with the entire team just outside the door.

“Okay, but he’s uncertain.” Setting his hands on hips, he paced across my small office and twisted around in the corner. “You didn’t tell him—”

“I didn’t tell him anything.” I strode to him and snatched his wrist, drawing him closer to me.

“He’s been in the same situation. He knows better than to tell anyone.

” And if rumors spread, what would my father say?

He’d given me orders to stay away from the players, not fuck them. Or fall for them. My chest wrenched.

“Let’s be more careful around Mason and Jett. I can’t have any rumors starting.” He worried his lower lip. “Maybe I shouldn’t have corrected the press about Margot.”

“Fuck that, Alex.” As my stomach churned, I said, “If you pretend to date her to distract from being with me, we’re done.” I wouldn’t tolerate such behavior. My sanity was worth something.

He blinked. “I-I’m sorry. You’re right.” He stepped toward me with his hand out.

Knocking sounded at my door. “Mercer? Are you in there?”

“Shit, it’s Coach.” Alex primped his hair, straightened his clothing, and then strode toward the door and opened it. “Yeah, that’s how I would do it. I think you’ve got it now.” He faced Coach Henderson. “Hey, Coach. We were, uh, just reviewing some strategies on how to handle the Kracken tonight.”

God damn it, could we ever catch a break? I eagerly anticipated sharing the hotel room in Vancouver.

“You were, huh?” Coach tapped Alex’s chest with his knuckles. “Good, I’m eager to hear your conclusions.” A smirk broke across his face.

Fucking hell. Now I’d have to bullshit my way through this. With a sigh, I stepped to my desk and rolled the chair out.

As Alex glanced at me, he pursed his lips. “Anyway, I need to head home for my nap.” He left.

We played two preseason games at home before traveling to Vancouver, and we’d have another two games before we’d return home to finalize the roster and prepare for the regular season.

For once, I felt like I could do this job.

Hockey terms had become second nature, and I could predict what strategies Coach Henderson would use going into a game.

As I trudged to my hotel room with my laptop bag, my gaze caught Mason and Jett opening the door to their room.

Mason threw me a knowing grin and then entered behind Jett.

How terrible would it be if the team found out about us? Could we come out to them and keep it a secret from the public and Alex’s parents?

I unlocked my door and opened it. We lodged in a high-end Fairmont overlooking the harbor, but all these rooms looked the same with bland greys or beiges.

I threw my laptop bag onto the bed, shrugged off my suit jacket and hung it on the back of the desk chair.

We’d eaten on the plane and would play a later game tomorrow, so the coaches had planned nothing but rest for tonight.

Which meant…I strolled to the phone on the desk and called the concierge.

“Hello, what can I do for you, Mr. Mercer?” A woman asked.

“Can you send flowers to Alex Volkov’s room?” A smirk tugged at my lips. I still had to text him to get his room number.

“Why, yes, of course. Is this a special occasion? A birthday, maybe?”

“No, just…” Did she need a reason? I should cover my tracks with something. “It’s more of a prank.” I glanced at my bag with the electronic candles inside.

“Oh, I see.” Her smile carried through the phone. “What type of flowers did you envision?”

I thought for a minute. Roses might seem too much, but if they’re not red... “Have them bring the most fragrant roses they have. I don’t care what color, but not red.” There, that was appropriate.

“Of course, sir. Should I bill the team for this?”

“No, I’ll take care of it. Let me give you my credit card.” I had the flowers expedited and paid for them. They’d arrive within the hour. Now to text Alex for his room number.

After fishing my phone from my jacket pocket, I texted Alex.

Julian

What room are you in?

Alex

I still hear people in the hallway. You should wait.

Shit, I wanted as much time with him as possible tonight. I tapped on my screen.

Julian

Don’t worry, I won’t let anyone see me.
