13. Doll
CHAPTER THIRTEEN
DOLL
“ S he not talking to me. She can’t be talking to me,” I said as I poked myself in the chest. Jill stood there with her hands balled into fists as if she was ready to swing on my ass. I was bigger than her, but shorter. I’d rock her shit just like I did the day I came home. She better had found herself some safe to do and leave me the fuck alone before I embarrassed her ass in front of all these people. She was over here tryna cause a scene and shit like she was just the best fighter ever, knowing damn well that I fought all her got damn battles when we were growing up. That was just the way I was. I fought for the people I loved, but how I felt ’bout her now, that bitch better tread lightly.
“You just couldn’t take yo’ L, now could you?” She took a step closer to me and Stoney slid in between us. She already knew I was ’bout to rock Jill’s shit. We were ’bout to give a whole new meaning of Aaliyah’s “Rock the Boat.”
I shoved Stoney out the way and she bumped into some woman that was standing there. “If for one split second you think I want anything to do with Jerrell, you lost yo’ fucking mind. I don’t want shit I done had already. If he was worth some, I would have still had him. I didn’t want him then and I damn sure don’t want him now. Get the fuck out my face, Jill.”
“He ain’t got no reason to lie!”
“Oh, but he do. That’s all the nigga ever do is lie. That’s yo’ gullible ass for believing him.”
Jill made the stupid ass mistake of swinging on me. She got in that one good lick, but I was ’bout to fuck her ass up. I punched her ’cross the face and everyone stepped back, probably trying not to get hit.
“I tried to give yo’ ass a chance to gone.”
Wham!
“I was trying not to embarrass yo’ stupid ass.”
I punched her ass again. The ho had the nerves to grip me by the hair. Neither one of us was bald headed, but Jill wore a lot of wigs. There was no point in me grabbing her shit ’cause it was just gon’ slip right on off.
I tried to pry her fingers loose from my hair and the crazy bitch slung both of us over the railing. We crashed into the water. I immediately resurfaced. Jill ass couldn’t swim and was probably down there fighting for her damn life. The ho could drown far as I gave a damn.
Scar jumped straight into the water and swam over to where I was. He gripped me by the waist and pulled me back to the yacht.
“I didn’t take you as the saving a person’s life type,” I joked as he sat me down on the floor.
“Where’s Jill!” Ma screamed. Of course, she was gon’ be worried ’bout her ’cause that was her favorite child. She ain’t bother to come over and make sure I was OK. It was cool though.
Jill finally resurfaced and kicked and screamed. Water splashed everywhere. Rell jumped into the water to go grab her. They struggled for a while and dipped underneath ’cause she was too fucking hysterical to be still for him to save her life. Lil did she know, she was gon’ cause both of ’em to drown.
Rell finally managed to pull her over to the yacht and Schizo helped them aboard. I wanted to get up and beat that bitch’s ass for ruining my fucking hair and clothes. My hair was no longer straight. It began to kink up. My dress was soaking wet and it was weighing me down.
Scar stripped out his shirt and my eyes trailed his frame. That man knew he was too fine for his own good. “I’ma get you back to the hotel so you can get out those wet clothes before you get sick,” he told me.
“How? We’re in the middle of the fucking ocean.”
“It’s a helicopter up top. Let’s go.”
“What about us?” Jill asked as Scar helped me up from the floor.
“Bitch, you can catch pneumonia up the ass far as I give a damn,” I spoke over my shoulder.
Scar led me to the top of the yacht where there was indeed a black helicopter sitting up there. I’d never been on one before and couldn’t wait to experience it. He opened the door for me and the shit was luxurious as hell. The inside was decked out in all black. I slipped into the seat with Scar alongside me.
The helicopter took off into the pitch-black sky. I peeped the island across the water lighting up. The closer we got to it, the more beautiful it became. Scar was quiet the entire way there. Maybe ’cause the helicopter was extremely loud.
We landed at the very top of the resort. Scar reached his hand in my direction and mine fell into his. He helped me out, leading me into the hotel without releasing my hand.
“Is it always like that between you two?”
“It just got like that. Believe it or not, Jill and I used to be the best of friends. I don’t know what made her switch up on me like she did. Maybe she’s just crazy for the dick or something. Rell got mediocre dick at best. It really ain’t no hype to it.”
“I understand sibling rivalry, but that shit right there is taking things to the next level. I could never snake my brother like that.”
“Exactly.”
Scar took me all the way to my suite. I faced him and thought ’bout inviting him in, but I was tryna take Stoney’s advice and not attach myself to him. The last thing I wanted was to end up being hurt. I couldn’t go through that again.
“Thanks for saving me,” I told him and unlocked my door.
“Yeen gon’ invite a nigga in?”
“I think I’m just gon’ call it a night.”
“It’s cool. I got an early flight in the morning anyway.”
“You’re leaving?” I quickly questioned him. Though I wasn’t supposed to be attaching myself to him, I could sense myself doing it anyway. Him saying that he was ’bout to leave was disappointing as fuck. I at least thought I was gon’ be able to spend time with him ’til the wedding.
“Don’t worry yo’ pretty lil top. I’ll be back the next day. I just gotta go handle something right quick.”
“I wasn’t worried.” I jumped defensive.
“Yeah…” He chuckled and continued, “OK.” He hooked my chin and pecked the corner of my mouth. “I’ll see you in a couple days. Keep that pussy wet for me,” he said and sauntered off. From that line alone, I wanted to run behind him and drag his ass into my suite, but I let him live.
I entered the room and went straight into the bathroom to take a shower and get out these wet ass clothes. Since everyone was still on the yacht having a good time, I decided to step down to the bar and grab me a couple drinks before I took it in for the night.
I didn’t even bother to dress it up too much. A simple black tube dress was fine with me. I exited my suite and went down to the bar. There was quite a few people in there at the tables, but most of the bar was free. I slipped onto a stool and waved a bartender over.
“Can I get a martini?” I asked when he stopped in front of me. Nodding, he began to fix my drink. My eyes wandered the bar to see who all was in attendance. I noted a few cute guys in a section at the back, but they looked to be younger. Though younger men approached me all the time, I didn’t too much want to deal with ’em. They were still babies in my eyes.
“You’re sexy as hell. Let me buy you a drink.” I jumped at the sound of a masculine voice next to me. I hadn’t even noticed him approach me.
I faced him and he was sexy as hell. Tall, dark, handsome with a bald head. I hated men with bald heads. Despite me being thirty, I still didn’t think I was mature enough to be fucking a nigga with a bald head.
“Sure,” I replied and turned back to the bar. “Place it on his tab,” I told the bartender, and he nodded. I took a sip from my drink and swayed to the song that was playing softly in the background. My eyes danced over my companion next to me. He rocked what seemed to be a tailored suit. The watch on his wrist had a huge R in the face, letting me know it was most likely a Rolex. A single stud rested in his ear. Nigga might was paid.
“You mind telling me why you’re sitting at a bar alone?” He licked his plump dark lips and nasty ass thoughts coursed through my mind. The only thing I wanted to do at the moment is see if he knew exactly what to do with those mufuckas.
“My friend is occupied at the moment.”
“Is that a female friend or a male friend?”
“Female. I’m not attached to no man.” That was a slight lie. I’d been fucking the shit out of Scar, but he didn’t belong to me. We were simply fucking. That’s how I looked at it.
“It must be my lucky day.”
“Must be,” I flirted right back with his ass. If he was gon’ sit here and buy me drinks, I damn sure wasn’t ’bout to run him away, even though his head was shining like brand-new hardwood floors.
We sat there and held conversation for a while. He bought me a total of five drinks, and I was feeling myself. I wanted to go search for Scar’s ass but decided against it.
No attaching, Doll.
It was hard tryna be out here and be a ho. I’on see how the hell people were able to do it. With me being a one-man woman, I always craved the person I was fucking with at the time and no one else. Cheating was in my blood, but it was like pulling teeth just to get me to embrace it.
I know my mama was damn shamed of me. Maybe that was why she favored the hell out of Jill ’cause she was so much like her.
After talking to him for a while and learning his name, Rion ended up taking me back to his suite with a bottle of Mo?t. By the time we were done with that bottle, he had me face down and ass up.
