21. Doll
CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE
DOLL
THE FOLLOWING DAY
A fter that talk with Stoney, I had been trying my best to avoid Scar’s ass. I didn’t need no reminder of how he was out here being a straight ho. There was no telling what he did with that chick after I left his room. I wasn’t one to talk ’cause I had fucked him and Rion in the same day. That was extremely whorish of me. Something I had never done before. I felt disgusting afterward. I didn’t see how men did that shit all the time.
To take my mind off Scar, I decided to get up with Rion. He offered to take me shopping and I damn sure wasn’t ’bout to turn it down.
Tossing the covers back, I slung my legs over the edge of the bed and got up. I grabbed my phone off the nightstand and went straight to my iTunes. I was in the mood for a lil music while I handled my hygiene.
Stopping on Ash B’s “Just for Me,” I went into the bathroom and turned on the shower. I placed my phone on the counter and grabbed my toothbrush. Today is going to be a great day. I can feel it in my bones.
After my forty-minute shower, I got out and went back into my room to get dressed. I decided on wearing this leopard-print mini dress. It was something cute and simple. By the time I was dressed, there was a knock at the suite’s door.
Grabbing my crossbody purse, I rushed out of the room, not wanting to keep him waiting. When I stepped into the hallway, I saw that Stoney had already opened the door and instead of it being Rion, Scar was standing there.
“Where’s Doll?” he questioned her, and she looked back over her shoulder.
I shook my head and she replied, “She’s not here.”
“Do you know where I can find her?”
“Nope. Maybe you should try her phone.” When she said that, I immediately placed my phone on silent.
“A’ight,” was all he said before stepping away from the door.
Stoney shut the door and faced me. “I’m not tryna be all in yo’ business… OK, I’m lying. I am. Why you got me lying to that man?”
“I just don’t want to deal with him right now. I’m going out with Rion. I shouldn’t have ever gotten that close to him in the first place.”
“Do whatever you think is best for you. I think I’m gon’ head down to the pool while you’re gone.”
“Hey, you think they still gon’ go through with the wedding after their uncle washed up on the beach? I still can’t believe someone killed him on vacation.” The news ’bout Kane spread like wildfire through the resort. Some people were talking ’bout going back home, terrified they’d be next. No one really knew why he was killed in the first place.
“I don’t know,” she responded and trudged off. That wedding was kinda a sore spot for her. She told me what Schizo said to her and how they kissed again. I just wished the nigga would stop fucking playing with her feelings if he still intended on marrying Kaylan’s ass.
“I’ll be back,” I told her and exited the room. I looked both ways in the hallway to ensure that Scar was nowhere to be found. On my way to the elevator, I shot Rion a text to let him know I’d meet him in the lobby.
I wasn’t in the lobby long before Rion stepped behind me and pecked me on the cheek. “Mmmhmm,” I moaned and turned to face him. “You smell good.”
“Thanks, love. You ready?”
“Uh huh.”
He escorted me out the door where a Lincoln Town Car waited out front for us. He opened the door for me and I slipped into the seat.
A gentleman.
The trip to the mall was short. Had he not offered to take me, I would have never known they had one. We walked ’round the mall and went into several stores. It didn’t have many places I wanted to shop at. I was far from a designer girl. I never really wore much of it in the first place. I was the type of chick that would buy knockoffs if I thought it was cute. All that other shit didn’t matter to me.
Rion took me into Saks Fifth. I didn’t know the first thing ’bout that store. It was a lil expensive, but I wasn’t the one paying for it, so I wasn’t ’bout to complain. As I maneuvered through the clothing racks in search of something to buy, I was gripped by the forearm and slung against the wall. Scar stepped into view, and I tensed up.
“What the fuck are you doing?” he questioned me. A mug rested on his face.
“I’m shopping, what does it look like I’m doing?” My eyes cut in Rion’s direction and he just stood there like a lump on a log. Nigga was on mute as if he was scared of Scar.
“You really out here flaunting another nigga in my face?”
The corner of my mouth quirked. “How I’m flaunting anyone in yo’ face, Scar? And why you so pressed? We not in no relationship. Shouldn’t you be worried ’bout that chick that came to see you?”
Boom!
I jumped at the impact of his fist smashing the wall alongside my head. A couple more inches and that would have been my face.
“You really think this shit a game, don’t you?”
“Scar, I haven’t the slightest clue as to what you’re talking ’bout. Can you move so I can get back to my date?”
“What you ’bout to do is take yo’ ass back to the resort.” He firmly gripped me by the hand and peeled me away from the wall. I yanked, but it hurt my shoulder tryna get out of his clutches. Scar had a death grip on my ass and wasn’t ’bout to release me.
“No!” I protested and stomped my foot like a lil kid. He was damn near dragging me with Rion behind us. “I’m not going back to that resort just ’cause you said so, Scar!”
“Wanna bet?” He didn’t stop ’til we were outside in front of a black Tahoe. “Getcha ass in the fucking truck.”
“No!”
“You don’t wanna piss me the fuck off. I’m gon’ tell you one more time. Getcha ass in the truck.”
“Scar!” a female’s voice shouted his name, and we all looked in that direction. It was the exact chick who had turned up at his hotel room. Silly me to think that he’d been there searching for me after Stoney told him I was gone. The fuck nigga was in there shopping with her ass but had the nerves to tell me I couldn’t spend time with another nigga. One thing a nigga was gon’ have was fucking audacity.
Sucking my teeth, I folded my arms over my chest and glared at him. My right foot tapped against the pavement. I wanted to hit his ass with the one-two for playing in my fucking face for a second time.
“You really out here tryna tell me what the fuck to do while you’re still with her? Nigga, move.” I shoved him out the way and grabbed Rion by the hand. I could feel Scar burning a hole in the back of my head, but I didn’t care. I took Rion back to our Town Car, knowing Scar was back there scalding.
“Where you want to go for lunch?” he asked, and I rolled my eyes.
“Nigga, I ain’t going nowhere else with you. You can take me back to the resort. Grown ass standing up there on hush mode while I’m being manhandled and shit. The fuck type of nigga is you?” The remainder of the car ride back to the resort was a silent one.
