16. Cairo

The moment Wallace snatches Bay by her hair, I have to mom-arm Reeve to keep him from storming over there and causing a fight.
This scene needs to play out. And there’s no reason why any of us should get involved, because she’s just a girl.
A girl who got involved with a king who doesn’t need to play nice if he doesn’t want to. One who doesn’t need to have my boys with their balls wrapped around their fingers.
Torin, surprisingly, hasn’t moved, but he hasn’t taken his eyes off her either.
“Drop your arm, brother,” Reeve seethes at my side like a rabid dog. “Or I’m gonna break it.”
“Stand down,” I order flatly. “This isn’t our war.”
“That’s my girl ,” he spits back, shoving at my forearm, but I continue to hold it up to keep him from making a mistake.
“She’s got this,” Torin vouches simply, at the same moment Wallace’s sidekick knocks some of the animals out of her arms. “I’m just waiting for her to kick him in the balls. And it looks like she’s got Juice’s name next.”
“She can do that when he’s not putting his hands on her,” Reeve retorts as I study how Wallace is going to go about doing this because I’m hella confused.
Those two are inseparable. There’s no secret that they’re always together. I guess it’d make sense that they weren’t open and displaying PDA every two seconds because that’s a liability. Especially with who Levi is and how many people are trying to gun him down.
Bay reaches up for Levi’s hand that’s tangled up in her hair, and she appears as though she wants to kill him. It’d save us the trouble.
“You got thirty seconds, Cairo,” Reeve warns me. “I’m about to lose my fuckin’ shit.”
“Give her more credit,” Torin replies. “I’ve seen this girl deal with the worst of them. She stood up to De Leon the other day.”
“He’s next,” Reeve spits out.
Bay slams her fists into Wallace’s side, earning a delighted chuckle from Torin. I’m glad he’s enjoying this while I’m dealing with the asshole at my right who’s in too deep with his dick.
And he hasn’t even stuck it in her yet.
I don’t think.
But when Levi’s mouth slams into Bay’s, Reeve grows rigid at my side, and I feel the tension forming from Torin’s side.
I’m surrounded by two stupid fucks and a handbag of problems of our own.
“If you move,” I grind out to Reeve, “you’re going to be eating concrete.”
He doesn’t answer me, too invested in the scene that’s playing out in front of us before Torin’s prediction comes to life and Bay’s knee connects with Wallace’s balls.
He cowers over as a smirk of victory displays over Bay’s face, peering up to spew whatever threats come to mind. Torin wants to save her while Reeve wants to keep her.
And I’m not looking to adopt any stowaways.
However, it’s two against one. I can only bitch about it so much until I’m outrun and outvoted.
Bay kicks at Levi’s shins, and he reacts, swinging his legs to knock into her ankles while he fidgets with the zipper of his jeans. And when his palm runs along the back of her head to allude to the fact that he’s going to have her suck him off, I drop my arm.
Reeve and Torin move in perfect tandem together as I trail behind. Their main focus is on the beast of a man who runs South Shore and all his ink.
Levi Wallace might be a pain in the fucking ass, but I can respect how well he’s run South Shore and how long he’s kept Emilio out. We might not be best friends, but we don’t purposely run into each other either.
I have a Titan seat to gain, not a girl to fight over.
Meanwhile, Torin gave up his up to Ramsey, and Reeve told his mother to shove it up her ass when she wanted to put Newport back on the map.
I hate to say the responsibility of us relies on my fight with Matteo De Leon, but it does. If I lose—which I won’t—we’ll be under Emilio’s thumb until the prick dies and, even then, I think he may just live on forever.
Torin doesn’t warn Juice that he’s coming when he cheapshots him with a blow to the head.
Reeve is already prying Levi away from Bay, and I’m standing idly by, making sure that Hot Shit, as Reeve calls him, doesn’t make a move to join in. At this point, Reeve and Torin are going to do what they want to do when it comes to her, and there’s nothing I can say to make them feel different.
The woman put a damn hex on the both of them without really trying, and the shit is past annoying. No reason to keep bitching about it tonight.
Reeve stumbles back after Levi batters up on him, slamming his fist into Reeve’s face, but he stops on a dime and practically leaps in the air just to counter back his attack. They both look like a bunch of dumbasses as my eyes connect with vivid blue ones.
I jerk my head for her to get off her knees and come to me.
Shockingly, she does, picking up the animals that spilled from her hands as Hot Rod watches her go with ire.
Too fucking bad.
“I didn’t peg you for a girl who slept with a teddy bear,” I vouch as she gets within earshot.
She looks back at the scene unfolding and doesn’t acknowledge my comment. “Make them stop.”
“And how do you expect me to do that?”
Bay glowers at me like I’m so fucking moron who has no concept of speaking. “Aren’t you the leader or something?”
I scoff, because fuck no. There is no dictatorship, even though I wish there were now. If I was top dog, they wouldn’t be doing this over her. “Try again.”
“Well, I know it’s not Reeve,” she mutters at my side. “Torin?”
“He’s too much of an asshole to be a leader.”
“Then whistle or something.”
Geezus Christ, this girl.
“You can blame yourself for this happening because you keep stringing them both along,” I emit flatly, even though my blood boils at how it’s possible they’re both going for the same girl and don’t give a flying fuck about it. “I always knew you were a pain in the ass and you’re just proving my point.”
“I didn’t do anything,” she retorts, pointing at her chest with a pink unicorn that almost pokes her in the eye. “Every time I turn around, they’re there.”
“Try harder,” I gripe back with a scowl. “You’re creative, right? You landed the King of South Shore.”
Her eyes slit. “What the fuck is that supposed to mean?”
Torin’s body suddenly shows up in front of us, almost losing his footing as he keeps his concentrated gaze glued on Juice, whose whole frame is heaving in rage.
“Hey, Wildfire,” Torin greets without stealing a glance in her direction. “I’m gonna expect you to kiss my bruises when this is all over.”
Bay tsks before he’s moving forward again to meet Juice for round whatever, and I notice her focus fall on Levi and Reeve.
And I’m not sure if it’s for Levi or Reeve’s safety.
“Maybe you should call Wallace off,” I advise, watching her squeeze the animals in her arms.
“He’s a fucking douchebag,” she retorts sharply. “You think that’s going to go over well when I tell him to leave Reeve alone?”
“Try it.”
A mirthless chuckle emits from Bay’s lips. “You sure about that?”
“Positive.”
Because I’d love to see how this plays out.
“You asked for it, Black.” Bay steps onward and steels her spine for her next words. “ Levi .”
He doesn’t respond, in the middle of propelling a hit into Reeve’s ribs, which gets my boy to slam his own fist into the side of his jaw.
“ Levi Grey Wallace .” The motherfucker actually hears that and slowly cranes his head over to Bay, his expression murderous that she called him out by his full name.
Reeve stops, too, glancing over at Bay like she’s the sun to his entire world as Wallace slowly makes his way over to the woman who is the root of all this bullshit.
“You called, baby?” he mocks, his body relaxed as if he wasn’t just taking on my best friend and he’s just as affected by Bay as everyone else around here beside me.
“Enough is enough,” Bay claims. “End it.”
“I’ll end it when I say it’s over,” he retorts evenly. “But, if you wanna give me something else to do…” His green eyes fall down the length of her body, and I find even myself growing rigid.
“I know you have some shit to make up for, but this isn’t giving you big dick energy.”
“Funny how you say that because you weren’t complaining about the size of it the last time I fucked the shit out of you.”
Bay’s lips coil into a shitty little smirk. “Gosh, I hate to break it to you, but it’s called faking it.”
“Wanna give that theory a shot again?” He begins to crowd her space while Reeve creeps up from behind him, waiting for another opportunity to attack again.
Levi’s large palm latches onto her waist and Reeve jolts forward when I slice my hand through the air at my side to tell him to hold off. “I won’t lie and say that your pussy was nothing but magical, Astor. You’re not gonna get this from them. And, I own a Titan seat already. This prick standing next to you has to still earn his.”
“Keep running your mouth, Wallace,” I convey levelly. “And I’ll take yours when I’m done.”
Wallace doesn’t spare me a glance and asks Bay, “Is this who you’re picking? You thought more dick was better than one?”
“I’m not choosing anyone, Levi. You did this. You lost your shit.”
He rocks his head back and forth. “I saw enough to know. And I’m not going to stand idly by and ignore it. Nor am I going to allow someone else to fuck my girl.”
“Then just leave me,” Bay spits out. “Stop approaching me in public and fuck off.”
Levi towers over her, and with the way danger expels off him, I’m expecting him to do something stupid. But, instead, he smirks. “Whatever you want, baby. Nessa was a better fuck anyway.”
Bay’s jaw drops at his admission as Wallace pivots and strides away, taking Juice and Hot Rod with him.
She watches him blend in with the crowd, and I can see her brain running a million miles a minute. If I’m not mistaken, it’s that blonde girl she runs around with at races.
Reeve keeps a distance while Torin flanks her side, but they both remain silent.
We all do.
“I gotta go,” she mutters, dropping her chin. “My sisters…”
“Do you need one of us to walk you there?” Torin asks gently. “We’ll stay off a bit, in case?—”
She shakes her head, which isn’t surprising. “No…I’ll be fine. Levi would never start something in front of them.”
“You sure, McQueen?” Reeve presses. “We can be shadows. Ellie and Mae will never see us.”
Bay’s head shoots over to him calling their names. “I just…thanks. I’ll see you guys around.”
“Friday night dinner,” Torin reminds her. “The old man is taking us out.”
She immediately tenses. “Yeah. Can’t wait.”
Then she quickly walks away so that they can’t stop her with any more coddling.
