Chapter 46
Days at the hotel blurred together. When Caspar awoke one morning, William had left a note on the nightstand saying that he was at the pool.
Caspar thanked his lucky stars (or whatever was up there) for some alone time with Malek.
He linked their hands, kissing Malek’s scabbed knuckles.
Malek stirred, but didn’t wake, so Caspar kissed up his arm to his collarbones, and traced his tongue down his chest. He placed a palm over Malek’s thigh where a small scar remained and spread his legs apart.
Malek’s erection strained against his boxers, but he still didn’t fully wake.
Caspar sighed, knowing exactly what he needed to do.
He slipped Malek’s cock out through the slit in the fabric and teased the crown with his tongue.
Malek’s rich scent propelled Caspar forward, though his wings became burdensome.
He straightened out his shoulders and worked on pressing his wings tight to his back.
It was something he’d been practicing the last few days as he got used to this strange new part of himself.
If he wanted to walk down the street without turning heads, he was going to have to learn to keep his body under control so his wings could stay hidden under a shirt—and so he didn’t rip his entire wardrobe apart.
At one point, after calling and talking to Erwin about this new development and his family history, Erwin gave him the impression that if he worked hard enough, he could make the wings feel natural on his back, like an extension of himself.
This practice, along with deciding his trinkets once and for all, was what had kept Caspar busy as everyone convalesced and planned for Jocasta’s next job—though even Jocasta had seemed more interested in getting shooting lessons from Ultima than actually planning a new job.
So Caspar forgot about their next mission, his trinkets, and even his wings for now.
He brought his tongue up and down Malek’s shaft, trying to wake him up in the best way possible.
Finally, Malek’s eyelids fluttered as he murmured something under his breath.
Caspar removed his mouth from his cock so he could press kisses up his stomach until he reached his heart.
Caspar listened to the beat of the song that echoed as Malek’s hands came over his skin, his wings, and then the back of his neck.
Malek brought Caspar to his mouth for a kiss that lasted so much longer than Caspar had anticipated.
He could already feel his skin turning purple under Malek’s touch.
“You’re awake,” Caspar said when they pulled apart. “Finally.”
“Oh, I’ve been awake. I’ve just been enjoying this. Hard not to wake up when you’re riding me like that.” Malek bit his lip and thrust slowly into Caspar’s torso. Caspar melted in his hands.
“Oh, this is exactly what I want.”
“Yeah?” Malek asked, his pupils dilating. “What do you want?”
Caspar heard the catch in Malek’s voice.
The past few days, he’d said nothing about his decision to remain a djinn, mostly because he was still getting used to his body.
It would never come easily, though, Erwin told him.
All bodies were awkward, supernatural or otherwise.
The only choice you had was the label you gave yourself.
Caspar understood that implication much more now; with his items and Malek by his side, he wanted to keep the label of a djinn—and all the power that came with it.
Malek’s erection bobbed against his own. Caspar hurried to remove both of their boxers before he took Malek in his mouth once again.
“Fuck.” With Malek fully awake to appreciate the sensation, he became a lot more vocal and touchy.
He ran a hand around Caspar’s neck and tangled his fingers through his hair to coax him up and down as he thrust into his throat.
Caspar allowed his jaw to go slack as he took in all of him.
When Malek least expected it, Caspar grabbed the base of his dick and matched the rhythm of his mouth with his hand.
Soon enough, a push-and-pull pattern of dominance and submission emerged between them.
It wasn’t long before Caspar could taste the salty hint of Malek’s precome. Caspar pulled away, wanting it to last.
“Get the lube?” Malek asked.
Caspar nodded. He seemed to surprise Malek when he took the lube from his hand and added it to Malek’s cock. Caspar reached back and craned his neck as he fingered himself. Malek watched with wide, soulful eyes. Caspar centred himself over Malek’s cock and started to slide down him with a gasp.
“You okay?”
“I am. I am. I feel…” Caspar let out a groan as all of Malek slipped inside of him. Malek rolled his hips, momentarily distracting Caspar before he settled himself into a good position. Malek reached his hands around Caspar’s waist and held him steady.
“You good?”
“Yeah. Just…” Caspar let out a sigh as he expanded his wings. He didn’t let them go to their full height or width, but they were enough to make Malek stare at him in awe.
“I’ve been practicing,” Caspar said. “What do you think?”
“You’re beautiful.”
“So are you.”
Caspar brought their lips together. As Malek bucked into him, begging Caspar to ride him harder, Caspar also kept a tight focus on his wings.
Even as he lost himself in the motion of being fucked, the worst thing that happened was his left wing getting tangled in William’s bedsheet.
He quickly righted himself with a gale of laughter.
Malek laughed along with him before bringing their mouths together again.
Malek dug his fingers into Caspar’s skin as he sat upright.
He pulled Caspar close to him, then lay down on the bed and let Caspar lead, watching him in awe as he continued to ride him.
Their bodies blended together in Caspar’s mind; their feelings stretched taut like the string holding a pendulum.
Caspar moved faster, riding him harder, but couldn’t keep up with his own desire.
“I need you to touch me.”
Malek didn’t respond for a while, seemingly too busy watching it all unfold. Caspar whined and grabbed Malek’s hand, placing it over his dick. “Please. I need this. I need you.”
Malek squeezed him in time with his thrusts. Caspar opened himself under Malek’s hand, nearly losing his bearings and almost knocking over the bedside light. He rocked into Malek harder, striking that spot deep inside over and over again.
“Oh, fuck.” Caspar came in hot spurts against his chest, mixing with the purple marks up and down his body from Malek’s nails.
Endorphins rushed through Caspar, causing his wings to lilt and then come close to his body, wrapping himself—and Malek—into a hug.
The touch of Caspar’s wings seemed to be enough for Malek, because the tenor of his moans changed as he came.
“Are you okay?” Malek asked once he’d collected himself. “Does it hurt like this?”
“No, no, I’m good. I feel… free.”
When they’d cleaned off and Caspar’s wings were settled close to his skin again, they both remained naked.
Malek sat with his back against the bed frame, the bed sheets pulled up to his waist. When Caspar sat next to him, Malek ran his fingers over the spot between the two wings.
Caspar’s skin was sensitive to the touch, as if it was another erogenous zone.
“They’re amazing,” Malek said.
“I know. I love them. I finally feel like I’m part of something bigger than myself.”
“And you want this? All of this…?”
“That’s… that’s what I wanted to show you.
” Caspar opened the desk drawer and pulled out the silk wrapping.
This time, it wasn’t filled with jewels, but four small trinkets meant to represent his pathway.
When he spilled them onto the bed, recognition flitted over Malek’s face.
Though Malek seemed to understand where each item came from, Caspar told him the story behind each one.
The first was the angel medallion that Jocasta kept in her vehicles and Caspar had watched bounce around on their getaway mission, followed by a poker chip from The Ten Percent bar where he’d played and beaten Ultima, and a small brass fairy figurine from the hotel itself.
“And finally, this,” Caspar said as he held up the ring he once wore on his index finger. “I want this because it reminds me that I belong with you.”
“Belong to me?”
“No, you misheard.” Caspar nudged his side. “I belong with you. We’re equals. We share both power and vulnerability. This ring helped me. It was the first thing I owned when I left prison. I want it. I know it’s your trinket, but if we’re able to change them, is it—”
“It’s fine. You can have it.”
Caspar wrapped his arms around him, holding him tight. “I was thinking of adding one of Jocasta’s key chains to my collection anyway,” Malek said.
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah,” Malek said. “She’s my family now. So is everyone else, even if I’m pretty sure Natasha and Katja are going to run away together and leave us behind.”
“We’ll still go visit them,” Caspar said.
“Exactly.” Malek nodded. “Even if I feel like some of the connections we have here are transient, I still want to remember them.”
“I’m not transient. I’m right here.” Caspar burrowed into Malek’s side. The room was so quiet, save for the beat of their hearts and the rustling echo of Caspar’s wings.
“I know you are. And I love you for it.”
“Good, because I love you too.” Caspar kissed Malek again and again. Euphoria, like the kind he got when he was flying, flowed through his body. Love bloomed inside of him. Connection and family—the only things he’d wanted since getting out of prison—filled him completely.
And I didn’t even need to use a wish for it. It was freely given.
“You know,” Caspar said. “You still have to teach me guitar.”
“I do. And I think we have the day free, right?”
