Chapter 30 #2
“We want you in this family, but that means you have to trust us too,” Axel burst out. “I don’t care what you did before. I just don’t understand why you couldn’t tell me. Did you really think I’d tell you to fuck off? I thought you knew me better than that.”
Flynn tugged at his beard, a sure sign of his stress.
“It’s not that simple, Ax. I hate what I did that night.
Hate what it made me. I’ve had a hard time forgiving myself.
I said I’d do it again, and I meant it, because Aiden was worth it, but I still have blood on my hands.
That never washes away. And…” He shook his head.
“I knew you’d probably understand. I just wasn’t so sure about Holden. ”
Axel snorted. “I can see that, I guess.”
Holden muttered something to Shiloh, who made a comforting noise of agreement.
“I didn’t want to put you in a position of keeping it from everyone else,” Flynn continued. “Bad enough I did it to Bailey, but that was only because he deserved to know who he was getting involved with.”
Axel nodded. “I can respect that. I’m damn glad you told him. If you hadn’t, this would be going very differently.”
“Hell, yes, it would,” Holden said.
“But he did tell me,” I pointed out, “and it didn’t change anything. I love him.”
“Then so do we,” Gray said simply.
Shiloh and Emory had been quiet up to this point, letting my brothers take the lead. But Emory came into the room, slipping an arm around his boyfriend.
“Not that anyone asked us, but Shiloh and I think Flynn is great.”
“Yep.” Shiloh waved a finger between me and Flynn. “I knew this was going to happen. Called it last summer.”
“Mm-hmm,” Emory agreed. “It was inevitable.”
“Nice of you to tell us,” Holden complained.
“Oh, you saw it too,” Shiloh said. “You just tried to pretend you didn’t because you wanted Bailey to go to college.”
I winced. “Yeah, sorry about that.”
“We’ve accepted your choices,” Holden said, sounding tired. “About school. About Flynn, too. We’re all good here, okay? I just want us all to be open and honest from now on.” His gaze swept from me to Flynn. “All of us. Can we do that?”
“Yes, absolutely,” I promised.
“I’ll never keep anything from you again,” Flynn swore.
“So, did you take my little brother’s virginity?” Axel asked abruptly.
Flynn’s eyes got huge. “Wha— No, I… um—” He sent me a panicked look. “That’s Bailey’s business.”
I glared at Axel. “I wasn’t a virgin, jackass. You already know that.”
Axel smirked. “Just testing the honesty policy.”
“Okay, on that note, I think we should call it a night,” Holden said.
I nodded. “We’ll be back for Thanksgiving. Meal at around one like usual?”
Holden frowned. “You’re not staying? Your room is all ready for you.”
I glanced at Flynn. “Well, yeah. I want to be with Flynn tonight. Most nights, in fact. He gave me a key, so…”
“Oh.” Holden swallowed. “Right. Of course.”
“We need some time together. Being miles apart is hard. But I’ll be over here all day on Thanksgiving, and I’ll be out of school and working in the shop soon. You’ll get to hover nonstop.”
He chuckled. “All right, okay. I’m not that bad.”
“Right, Dad,” I teased. “I know it’s hard to see your baby grow up.”
“You’ve got no idea,” he muttered. “Flynn, I’m trusting you to take care of him for me. I think you know what this kid means to me.”
“I do,” Flynn said seriously. “He’s safe with me. I promise you that.”
Holden nodded. “All right, then. We’ll see you for Thanksgiving.”
I drove Flynn home. The man was emotionally and physically drained. He’d worked a fourteen-hour shift, then fought with Snake, then poured out his painful secrets to my brothers.
By the time we got to his place, he was in a zombie state. I led him to the front door, used my key to let us in, then nudged him toward the bedroom.
“Need a shower,” he mumbled. “Feel so grimy.”
I detoured to the bathroom. Flynn leaned against the sink, staring off into space, while I turned on the water and adjusted the temperature.
I turned back to him. “Let’s get you undressed.”
He blinked, as if coming out of a sleep state. “I can do it.”
I pushed the leather jacket off his shoulders. “Just relax, honey pie. I’m going to take care of you now.”
The corner of his lips tilted up. He never knew how to take it when I called him that. Which was partly why I did it. Flynn hadn’t had enough sweetness showered on him. He was a big guy, a strong man, and somewhere along the way, he’d gotten the idea that he had to carry everyone else.
Well, not on my fucking watch.
His jacket dropped to the floor, and I grabbed the hem of his T-shirt and tugged it up. Flynn lifted his arms and helped me pull it over his head.
His chest was gorgeous. Big, built, and furry. I pressed a kiss between his pecs while I unbuttoned his jeans. Item by item, I stripped him, revealing muscled thighs and a mouthwatering ass.
Every inch of the man was strong and powerful, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t soft too. I thought of the boy he’d been, the one who’d suffered abuse. It wasn’t something I’d thought about until Holden pointed it out.
Flynn wasn’t just a fighter and a protector. He was a survivor too.
Once he was bare, I stripped off my clothes and led him into the shower. The hot water sluiced over him, and he sighed, eyes fluttering shut.
I grabbed a sponge, soaped it up, and began to scrub Flynn, starting with his shoulders and working my way across his chest and down his stomach.
“You don’t have to wash me,” he murmured, reaching for the sponge. “I can—”
I pulled it away. “Nope. You’re going to relax and let me take care of you.”
He opened an eye. “Oh?”
“It’s your turn,” I said. “Let me.”
“Okay,” he said softly. “Whatever you want.”
But it wasn’t about what I wanted. It was about what he needed. Flynn was too giving to admit he craved tender care too. So, I wouldn’t make him ask for it.
I pressed a kiss to his collarbone, then nudged his hip. He turned for me, allowing me to scrub down his back and over his hips.
I went to my knees behind him as I washed his ass and thighs. He gave a little shudder, and a peek around his waist showed that his body was liking me in this position.
“Turn back around,” I ordered.
Flynn did, eyes heavy as he looked down at me. “You can ignore my dick. It just likes you being close.”
“Yeah?” I leaned in and pressed a kiss to the tip of his cock. “Well, I like being close too.”
He sighed as I let my tongue play over the head, then slowly took him into my mouth. I’d been using plugs and dildos to train my ass, and the more I sucked him, the more I wanted him inside me again.
I pulled off. “I can finish you like this, or I can ride you in bed until you pass out. Which would you like?”
He groaned. “God, are you sure?”
“I’ve been thinking about it all week.”
“Me too,” he admitted.
“But if you’re too tired, we can just sleep. It’s been a long night.”
He gazed at me, cock hard and leaking right next to my face. “Baby, pretty sure I’ll never be too tired to want you.”
I rose to my feet and turned off the water. “Let’s get you into bed, then.”
I helped him towel off first, then gave myself an extra-quick rubdown before joining him in the bed. I opened the side table to get out all the supplies.
I worked myself open with lube and fingers while Flynn watched through heavy-lidded eyes, then rolled a condom down his shaft and slicked it too. When I was ready, I swung a leg over his waist, positioned myself, and sank down.
His cock was so big, so hard, like the rest of his body—but his eyes were soft with love as he squeezed into the tightest part of me.
I groaned as his cock stretched me, but it was good too, like I was expanding for us to become one.
I lowered myself, letting him fill me to the brim.
There was no other feeling like this in the world.
So full, so connected to another person.
Flynn’s arms came around me, pulling my head down for a kiss. “So afraid I’d lose you.”
“Never,” I murmured.
“I can’t lose you,” he said, hips jerking up to push his dick deeper into me.
I gasped as he lit up my nerves.
“Never,” I repeated. “I’m yours.”
“God, I need you.”
“Let me take care of you.” I straightened upright and shifted to rise a few inches before dropping down, taking him hard and deep.
We both cried out.
After that, everything blurred into heat and need and sweat and soft grunts and groans. Our bodies did the talking for us.
The pressure built unbearably. I rode the razor edge of pleasure as long as I could stand it, but eventually, I had to give in to my body’s demands.
I threw my head back, hand wrapped around my aching cock, and came with a ragged cry.
Flynn grabbed my hips in a bruising grip and thrust up hard and deep, grinding into me until he shuddered and climaxed, too.
We collapsed into a heap, and I grabbed a couple of tissues from the box by the bed to do a hasty cleanup. We could shower again in the morning.
I cuddled against Flynn, resting my head over his still-racing heart. “You can’t take risks like that anymore.”
“Hmm?”
“Like with Snake,” I said. “Promise me you won’t ever risk yourself if you don’t have to? You’re too important to me.”
He sighed and kissed my head. “I’m sorry, Bailey. I should have been more careful.”
“Yes.” I met his gaze. “You might do anything to protect Aiden, me, or even my brothers. I admire that quality. Just understand that I’ll do anything to protect you. You don’t have to be the strong one. Or shoulder all the weight. We’re in this together.”
“I want to take care of you,” he said hesitantly.
“And I want you to,” I said. “Just be ready for me to take care of you too, honey pie.”
His lips quirked. “I can live with that.”
“Good.” I pressed a kiss to his neck. “You don’t really have much choice.”
He chuckled softly and tightened his arms around me. “Have it your way, baby. Just as long as you keep me.”
“Always,” I promised.
I might only be twenty, and life could be unpredictable, but I knew that Flynn and I were the real deal. He’d been through too much to take love for granted, and I’d learned a long time ago how to take the measure of a man.
Like Dalton said, Flynn was one of the good ones.
I was smart enough to hold on tight and never let go.
