Epilogue
Riley
After two more weeks, Daphne was cleared to go home.
I wanted to keep staying with every day, but she threatened to disown me if I didn’t get back to Espresso Joy.
So I’ve been back at work for a week now.
I love all the renovations that we did to the shop.
There’s even more security now then before. And there was a lot before.
My family has finally made it out to see me and meet Fionn. My sisters asked if he had brothers. I told them he had one but he was married. They laughed and said they need a trip to Ireland now. Fionn said he’d be glad to help them plan their trip.
We’ve also been talking about our future.
Most days I can’t believe everything that’s happened.
The one thing I’ll never take for granted is my Fionn.
He came into my life when I didn’t think I needed anyone.
And because of him, Ireland will always hold a special place in my heart.
It’s where my life started. Even if I tried to run from it at first.
I look outside the shop and it seems like there’s a commotion.
“Stay there. I’ll go and look.” Oliver says to me.
I nod and stay behind the counter. After a few minutes, Oliver comes back smiling.
Fionn
Today I plan on asking Riley to be my wife.
Her da and siblings are here and Daphne decided today was a good day to get out of bed and come back to the coffee shop.
She told me she’s been a little scared to go back.
But she didn’t want to tell Riley that. She didn’t want her to be sad because she wants to work with her.
I think both of them are strong. They’re both dealing with the aftermath of what Playboy did to them.
Scrapper and the Feral Raptors have kept their word with us and are planning on coming back when Playboy and his crew goes on trial.
We head to Espresso Joy with a bunch of our family in tow. They all know what I plan to do today and want to be there with us.
“Looks like Oliver’s coming out like he’s supposed to.” Daphne says to me.
We sneak closer to the coffee shop as he comes outside.
“She doesn’t suspect anything.” He laughs.
We head into the shop. Riley’s eyes get huge when she sees Daphne walk in. She runs over and hugs her.
“I’m so happy you’re back. I love you.” She cries.
“I couldn’t stay away forever.” Daphne smiles.
I walk in and go straight to my girl. I grab her and hug her. Then I drop to one knee.
“Oh. My. God.” Riley whispers.
“Mo fhíorghra, that night I met you, I knew that you were my forever. But then you ran and left me. But I swore to myself that I would do anything I could to find you. And as fate would have it, I found you. Lake Renegade holds a special place in my heart for so many reasons. I’m hoping you’ll help me add to those reasons. Will you marry me?”
I can hear people sniffling.
“Yes. Fionn. I will marry you. I love you so much.” She cries as I put the ring my mam gave me for her. “It’s beautiful.”
“No, mo fhíorghra. You’re beautiful.”
