Chapter 16 Family Expands #2

“It’s okay, sweetheart. I’m not mad at you.

I promised you that we would get tested before we went there, and I don’t want to start our marriage off with a broken promise about something that was important enough for us to discuss in the beginning.

” We had the chat during our post nuptial dinner, so we were both clear about what we expected before heading back to the hotel together.

I leaned forward and dropped a quick kiss on her lips.

“I pretty much want to shoot myself in the dick for stopping you because that felt amazing, but we’re going to honor our promises when we make them. ”

Nell laughed and I pointed to my nightstand. “Should be a fresh box of condoms in the there.”

“Oh yeah?” My wife asked as she leaned over to grab one.

“All the rooms are re-stocked by a club brother at least once a week. Now that you’re here, they won’t come in my room without permission, though.”

“That’s good to know, I guess. I’ve been meaning to ask, do you live here full time or is this just a spare fuck room you have?”

I smacked my wife’s ass. “Spare fuck room? Jesus woman! I have been living here because I’m a simple man with few wants. Up until now, I’ve been single. That obviously changed, so we can discuss getting set up in a house.”

Nell shook her head. “I’m a simple woman, too. If we could fit a drafting table in here, that’s all I need besides some more clothes and hygiene items. We can talk about a house later, if or when we decide to have a bigger family.”

“You want kids?” I asked.

“I’ve never really allowed myself to think about it before. Do you?”

“I do now that I have you.”

My woman rolled the condom down on my cock and slid on. “Cool. We’ll talk about that shit later, okay? Right now I want to practice making them but not having to deal with the fallout.”

I laughed at her sassy segue back to riding my dick.

Nell moaned as my cock twitched inside her again.

“We need to get tested soon,” I mumbled.

There was a fucking world of difference between being inside my wife with and without a condom.

As much as I didn’t want to break a promise to her, I already missed the incredible heat and silky slickness of her pussy when the condom wasn’t in the way.

The next morning, I took Nell for a ride over to Brady’s place, so she could see where we put all the stuff from her studio.

After hearing how she inherited the garage and most of the equipment, I was happy we were able to bring the vast majority of it back with us unscathed.

I would have found and tortured that mother-fucking Johnny guy after hearing that story if he had gotten there first. I was still going to slowly dismember the asshole while he was alive but he earned himself a reprieve since we had Squeak quietly trailing him and reporting back.

That would have ended and I would have found another way to get intel on the Mojave Devils and their movements if he’d harmed her shit.

“What is this place?” Nell asked as we drove up the busted dirt and gravel road that led into the heart of the Morton family’s property.

“Remember Bigfoot’s wife?”

“Yeah. Well, in theory.” Nell laughed. “I don’t think we were ever really introduced since everything happened so fast that day and they’ve been gone.”

“Yeah, well you remember Brady?”

“Of course.”

“He’s Sammy’s uncle. Together, with her other uncle, Josh, they each have equal ownership of the Morton Compound.

They have a mechanic shop for mostly motorcycles, UTVs, and ATVs, but I’m pretty sure Brady also works on some older model cars that don’t require a bunch of fancy equipment.

Then they have a huge RV shop which is basically a large warehouse that was converted into a multi-bay garage that can handle motorhomes and RVs that are less than fifty feet in length.

They also have a campground, cabins, some sort of co-op farm thing that Josh runs, and then private family housing and a bunch of land in between the businesses and homes. ”

“Wow, so, they’re kind of like the family version of the Kings of Anarchy’s compound across the highway.”

“Basically, yeah. There land has been in the private family for several generations and you have to be blood and work so many hours in one of the family businesses to maintain residency on the land. Their grandfather set the rule in the trust to make sure everyone pulled their weight and helped keep the family’s legacy alive. ”

“That’s really cool, but why are we headed there?”

“I worked something out with Brady. They have the campground and RV shop closed to the public right now because of some shit that went down recently with Sammy. Her stepmom being involved with the Mojave Devils and Rivera Cartel was a whole fucking mess. That’s what put the Devils on our radar to begin with.

They wanted the Morton land for themselves.

Anyway, I can fill you in on the details of that shit later.

The point is, they had to close their businesses for a bit because it’s hard to book people in when assholes are showing up trying to kill the family.

They decided to take the time to overhaul a bunch of things that had been neglected in the meantime.

” I glanced back at the dust cloud we were kicking up behind us.

“Hopefully, one of those things is repaving the fucking road.”

Nell giggled. “I was wondering about that. You’re dodging a lot of potholes, I can’t imagine how that must impact people towing travel trailers and fifth wheels.”

“Yeah, exactly. There’s a reason I drove the UTV over.”

“Is that what this thing is called? All I could think was dune buggy or tricked out golf cart.”

“What the hell, woman? We’re going to have a class on all motorcycle, UTV, and ATV identification so you never say anything like that again at the clubhouse. Fucking golf cart,” I groaned. I could hear Knuckles giving me shit over that one if he’d heard it.

Nell snickered and turned her head so I wouldn’t see which led me to believe she was pulling my leg. Two could play at that game and I’d get even eventually.

“So they’re overhauling the business here, what does that have to do with me again?” It was like a lightbulb clicked on in that moment, though it was the wrong one. “Oh! Is it because I know how to weld? Do they need help? I don’t mind pitching in.”

“That’s really sweet of you, but no. Since they’re closed for business right now, I made a deal with Brady to use a bay in his RV shop for you.”

“For me?”

“Yeah, where did you think we put Classic Sin and all your stuff?”

“Oh my God! It’s this close?” We pulled into the overlarge parking area in front of the RV shop and saw Brady there talking to a woman I’d never seen around town before. As I parked, Nell started to bounce up and down excitedly in her seat.

“Remember that same enthusiasm for later, sweetheart.”

Nell stopped bouncing and turned heated eyes my way. “Oh, don’t worry, hubby. You are going to be rewarded later.” She pushed her door open and hopped out so I followed suit and we both ended up closing in on the tail-end of a conversation we weren’t meant to be a part of.

“But I had a reservation,” the woman whined, obviously frustrated.

“And like I already told you, we sent out messages letting everyone know their reservations were canceled. We’re closed to make repairs and renovations on the property and it’s too dangerous for people to be here with all the equipment that will be in and out.”

“There’s nowhere else to stay that is close enough to Violence, though. I need a place to park my trailer while I look for my brother.”

Brady’s body immediately stiffened and his visible, physical interest in the woman closed off for the first time since we walked up.

Immediately, I knew what he was thinking.

By “brother” this woman might be trying to put a claim on Ryan through his father’s side of the family - the same side that belonged to the Mojave Devils MC.

“What did you say your name was again? I need to check and see if anyone sent you out that cancelation e-mail.”

Her shoulders dropped when she thought she might finally be getting somewhere. “Sure, it’s Angel. Well, Angelica Mendoza.”

“Come again?” I questioned immediately, since she shared my last name.

As the woman turned at the sound of my voice, I finally got a good look at her and I fucking almost forgot how to breathe.

She looked just like the grandmother I’d only known from pictures.

The one who held onto a toddler version of my father in those images.

It couldn’t be a coincidence that she was looking for a brother, had my last name, and was the spitting image of my grandmother.

I stepped closer and held out my hand for her to shake. She did so with a curious look on her face. I didn’t miss the way her eyes welled up with tears. “I’m Patrick Mendoza,” I said to her and those tears immediately traveled down her face and splashed onto the gray metal band t-shirt she wore.

“Um,” Nell started and then I watched from the corner of my eye as she made her way over to Brady. “How about you show me where my stuff is and we’ll give these two a few minutes to catch up.”

“Who are you?” Angel asked Nell.

“That’s my wife,” I answered. My fucking brain hadn’t come fully back online since discovering I had a little sister that I never knew about.

“Oh! You must be Roxy!”

Brady choked on an awkward laugh as I spat out, “What the fuck? What do you know about Roxy?” And at the same time, Nell shook her head adamantly and said, “No, I’m not.

My name’s Nell and I’m Rick’s wife.” Her tone was more than a little defensive, not that I could blame her.

It wasn’t a good start to introductions between the sister I never knew I had and my brand new wife.

“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry. I sent a private investigator ahead of me to make sure it would be safe,” she hesitated a minute before finishing. “Apparently my dad is in prison for killing a woman and my mom said he was part of some outlaw gang.”

“My mother was the woman he killed and it’s not a gang. It’s a motorcycle club with plenty of legitimate businesses.”

Angel nodded her head. “Yes, your mother. I’m sorry you lost her.” She seemed genuine but I notice she didn’t address my corrections about her assumptions concerning my club.

“How does Roxy fit into this?” I asked. Nell came to stand beside me and I wrapped my arm around her because it had to be another blow that the woman who had caused her so much grief, since I brought her to my club, was once again in the mix even without being there in person.

“My P.I. said he met a woman who claimed she was Patrick Mendoza’s wife, but he couldn’t find any documentation to support that.

He also didn’t think to get pictures of her, so I just assumed that,” she pointed toward Nell, “she was Roxy. I’m sorry, that must have seemed very rude or insensitive of me.

I feel like I’m fumbling this right from the start.

Then again, I came here to look for my brother and didn’t expect for him to drive right up a few minutes after I got to the campground. ”

“There isn’t any information to support Roxy’s claims because she’s never been anything more than a childhood friend to me.

” That was the first bit of bullshit I needed to clear up because there was no way I’d have a potential sister giving Nell any shit.

Granted, she apologized immediately for the mistaken identity, so there clearly wasn’t any malice behind it.

Roxy had left damage behind, though. That was something that I finally was able to admit to myself.

“Considering you got that information secondhand, and originating from Roxy, it was an honest mistake on your part.” Nell told Angel. My wife was a better person than I was.

“I hate to step in, but I think Nell was right before. I’m going to be all over the place for a while putting a plan together for the upcoming overhaul.

If you need to send a body over to keep an eye on Nell while she gets reacquainted with her things in the new space, you should call for someone.

I’ll be here, but can’t guarantee I won’t get caught up in something that pulls my focus.

” Brady flipped his attention from me to Angel then and tipped his head toward the RV spots across the street.

“Go pick whichever spot you want. They all have 30 and 50 amp hookups as well as water and sewage. You’re welcome to park here as long as you need.

Just let me know ahead of time when you plan to pull your trailer back out.

We’re going to resurface the road and I don’t want to have you stuck here because there’s no way to get by.

We’ll have space to get the UTVs and motorcycles through, but that’s about it.

” He then turned to Nell. “Same goes for you. If your project needs to go out in the next two to three weeks, let me know when.”

“Nope, I’m good. Still about a month or so out for me to finish up depending on how much time I get to put in.”

Brady nodded his head. “Alright, let me show you your space while Baffle takes Angel to find a spot and get her trailer hooked up. They can figure out their family dynamics without us in the way.”
