Chapter 11 The Second Time #2
“Shhh, no talking or you’ll break my ‘too tired to give a fuck about consequences’ spell.”
I couldn’t hide the smile that broke free, so I swooped in and kissed her again.
My hands trailed her body, the right moved up from her hip to cup her breast. If she was wearing a bra, it was a thin one.
Cass was probably a B-cup if I had to guess.
Maybe a C on a good day. It worked with the athletic build she was rocking.
Plus, she was on the taller side for a woman, maybe five, nine or so.
I liked that I didn’t have to break my back to bend down and kiss her.
I also enjoyed the way she let me touch her.
How many times had I dreamed of having her in this very position.
Back then, it was daydreams about plunking her down on the science lab table or hiding in the janitor’s closet.
Mostly, it was having her in my lap by the fire pit where we used to talk all the time.
I couldn’t tell her any of that, though. She would never believe me.
I used my left hand to slide inside the baggy sweat pants she wore. There was no need in my mind to stay above her panties because I wanted too badly to feel the proof that she reacted to me the same way I did for her. Her pussy was slick and free of hair.
Fuck me stupid!
It was like running my finger through liquid silk as she disengaged our kiss to throw her head back and moan my name.
I glanced up to see a shadow at the end of the truck and realized it was Grunt, with his back turned to us.
That was a best friend move if I ever saw one.
He was guarding the area so no one could interrupt or get an eye full of what was about to go down.
Knowing he was there, I should have stopped.
Cassidy would hate to know that he was there listening to everything.
I couldn’t, though. What if this was my only shot to show her how good we could be together?
“More,” she hummed in my ear as I pumped my fingers inside of her.
“You feel amazing, sweetness,” I whispered back to her.
“James,” she pleaded as I twisted and curled my fingers and pumped them in and out of her. “Yes, like that.”
“I want you to come for me, Cass. Right here. Right now. Let go and fucking come.” The last few words devolved into a growl against her neck as I felt her pussy flutter and squeeze my fingers. “That’s it, baby. Ride it out.”
“Holy shit,” she whisper-hissed against my chest as she continued to convulse on my digits. “I needed that.”
“Your pleasure is also mine,” I agreed as I freed my hand and slipped my drenched fingers into my mouth. “Sweetness was the right name for you, Cassidy. You taste like the most decadent dessert.”
Her eyes went soft for a minute before she laid her head against my chest while she caught her breath. “I can’t believe I let you do that.”
“I’m glad you did.”
“Still, it was not the smartest decision I’ve ever made.
I blame being overly tired. I was supposed to have help for this, but everyone got recalled to handle some…
” She cut herself off and shut her mouth.
“It doesn’t matter. This can’t happen again, which shouldn’t be a problem because I’ll avoid taking the club on as a client in the future. ”
“You can’t do that, Cass. You’ll be shooting yourself in the foot. The club is the reason the population in Violence has boomed since you’ve been gone.”
“I’ll figure something out. Besides, Mitch kept the ranch running while I was gone and it can fill the holes in the finances,” she suggested.
It was more like she was thinking out loud and I just happened to hear, rather than her sharing pieces of her life with me.
I knew that. I could tell that she was still dead on her feet and felt like an ass because that was probably the only reason she allowed that shit to happen between us.
My dick throbbed against her, as if to ask for his turn.
When she lifted her head and her sorrow-filled eyes met mine, I took a step back. “You’re exhausted. Let’s get you out of here so you can go climb in bed and get some sleep.”
“Yeah, I need that desperately.”
“I’ll follow behind you to make sure you don’t nod off along the way.” I thought better of that plan and offered to drive the truck and have someone ride behind us to take me back to the clubhouse when I dropped her off.
“No. That won’t be necessary. I can rally for the drive home. It’s not that far as the crow flies.”
“It’s a twenty minute drive as the road winds, though,” I argued.
“I’ll be fine.”
“Okay, Cass. If I see you swerve the least little bit, I’m going to intervene and won’t take your word for it next time.”
“Agreed,” she said as we both managed to climb out of the back of the truck.
I don’t know how he managed, but Grunt managed to melt into the shadows before we got to a point where Cass might have scoped him out.
I would have to thank him later for the assist and for being discreet for her sake.
It sure as hell hadn’t been for mine. We’d seen one another in far more compromising situations over the last year.
We managed to make it to Cass’s place with no problems. She was staying at her old house, which was good. I knew the lay of the land there. When the time came - and it would be soon - I’d know exactly where to go to lay my claim on the woman.
Grunt stood by the front door in the fucking cold waiting on me when I got back. My whole body was a damn popsicle. The temps had dropped a lot in the past hour and I hadn’t exactly been dressed for a longer ride, but luckily, no snow had fallen while I’d been out.
“Too cold out here to play watchdog, man,” I called out to him as I got off my Harley and headed to the front door.
“You really think that’s where you need to start this off with her?
” Before I could answer, he put in his two cents anyway.
“If you want her to take anything you have to gain her respect and trust. Don’t think that’s going to happen with a quickie in the back of her truck before you even have a conversation.
Don’t sabotage yourself before you get a chance at something real. ”
“It was the only way to get her attention, Jas.” It had been forever since I called my best friend by his given name - or the nickname I used to use for him anyway. Something about Cassidy being around made me revert to the friendship we had before we were involved with the club.
“She’s been through a lot,” he mentioned as he toed the dirt beneath his boot.
“And I haven’t?”
“YOU put her through a lot,” Grunt amended his first statement.
“I know. I have a lot to make up for, but she was always my end game, man. I promise, tomorrow, I am going to have that conversation with her. Hopefully, it will go better with her softened up for me a bit.”
Grunt chuckled. “If that’s what you think just happened, you’re fucking doomed, brother.”
I didn’t like the sound of that, but I could still taste Cassidy on my tongue and didn’t want to stand in the cold and argue the point with him.
