Chapter 24 Lyric
LYRIC
Ineed you.
It might have taken me a hot minute to realize that Mellie’s memory had returned, and when I did, anger surged through my veins. I don’t like being lied to, but her explanation made sense. Besides, I’ve never been able to hold onto my anger where she’s concerned.
Even if I could hold onto it, it would’ve vanished the second her lips touched mine.
“Please, Lyric,” she begs, grinding her hips.
“Please, what, baby?”
“Make my G note sing,” she purrs.
I throw my head back and bark out a laugh. “Fuck, I’ve missed this.”
“Me, too. But seriously, take a page out of Clejan’s playbook,” she says. “I need you to fill me, remind me how perfect we are for each other.”
Her words snap the thin tether I have on my control, and I carry her through the graveyard toward the wooded area along the edge. I know I should be gentle, especially since her ribs are likely still sore, but my ability to take things slow is nowhere in sight.
I set her on her feet and yank her shirt over her head, tossing it to the ground. As I reach back to pull my own shirt off, she shimmies out of her jeans and panties. Mellie is standing before me in nothing but her black lace bra, and her nipples are begging to be tweaked.
“Fuck, you’re beautiful,” I breathe.
She flattens her palms against my chest, and the contact is electric. “Take the rest of your clothes off before I’m forced to take care of myself,” she says, curling her fingertips into my pecs.
“Yes, ma’am.”
The moment I kick my legs free of my jeans and boxer briefs, Mellie jumps up, forcing me to catch her. My cock jerks when her slick pussy connects with my body, and I bend my head to tease her nipples with my teeth.
Mellie throws her head back with a moan, and the action pushes her tits forward. With one hand, I reach between us to tug her breasts free from the lace, and then I suck one pink bud into my mouth.
“Ah, fuck,” she hisses.
I lower us both to the ground and spread her legs wide when she’s on her back. “Your cunt is glistening for me,” I growl.
“Always for you.”
Leaning forward, I latch onto her clit, swirling my tongue around it. She drapes her legs over my shoulders, and her body shakes with pleasure. I push two fingers inside her pussy and curl them upward.
Without warning, her body bows off the ground, and her orgasm pulses around my fingers. I don’t let up until her muscles relax, and her knees fall to the sides. Mellie sighs with contentment as I rise above her and line my cock up with her entrance.
“We’re not done, baby.”
“Mmmm.”
Surging forward, I capture her mouth with my own to silence her cries. Her cunt is tight around my dick, and I hold myself still to allow her to adjust to my size. It’s been a while since we’ve fucked, and I want it to be as perfect and pleasurable as it’s always been between us.
“Move, Lyric,” she pleads. “I need you to move.”
I pull out until just the tip remains inside her. Her eyes roll back, but they fly open when I thrust my hips until I’m buried deep. Over and over again, I thrust. Out, in, out, in. She matches my pace, rocking her pelvis and quivering each time my body touches her clit.
Tingles race down my spine, and my arms threaten to give out. “Come for me, baby,” I urge, reaching between us and rubbing circles over her clit. “Now, Mellie. Come now!”
Mellie shakes her head from side to side even as she explodes. My cock twitches, and I jerk my hips once, twice, and then I’m coming with her. Endless waves of blinding pleasure overtake me, and by the time my orgasm ends, my entire body is shaking.
I lower myself to her side and pull her body against mine. She tucks her head into the crook of my shoulder, and for the first time since our wedding day, I feel whole.
“I’m gonna need you to do that at least twice a day,” she says, breaking the comfortable silence that’s settled around us.
“Only twice?” I tease.
She pushes herself up onto her elbow to look down at me. “Three times if you think you’re up for it.”
I grin. “Oh, baby, I’m more than up to it.”
She wiggles, and my cock jerks back to life. Glancing down, she laughs, and the sound cuts straight to my heart. I could listen to her laugh forever.
“Maybe not on the ground, though,” she says. “I’m pretty sure I’ve got pine needles in places that definitely should not have pine needles.”
Laughing, I sit up and pull her to her feet as I stand. “Sorry ‘bout that.”
“It was worth it.”
We both dress, although she stuffs her panties into my cut pocket rather than putting them back on. I lead her away from the trees, through the cemetery, and just as we pass her parents’ headstones, gunshots ring out.
“Get down!” I shout, shoving her behind the grave markers and drawing my weapon.
Bullets fly past us, and some hit the granite, sending rock flying. Without standing, I can’t see who’s shooting at us, so I raise my gun above my head and squeeze the trigger. I don’t hear any shouts or screams of pain, which tells me I’m not hitting anyone.
“Lyric,” Mellie cries, fear in her tone.
“Stay down,” I order, shifting to my hands and knees. “I’m gonna crawl over there.” I nod at the mausoleum that’s about twenty feet away. “I’ll have more cover and should be able to see who’s doing this.”
“Be careful.”
“Always.”
I give her a smacking kiss before doing exactly what I said I was going to do. Bullets hit the ground around me, kicking up grass and dirt. Once I reach the above-ground burial site, I get to my feet. Reaching around the structure, I fire off a few rounds.
The gunshots stop, and I wait a few seconds before stepping into the open to assess the situation and figure out who the attacker is.
Whoever it is got into a vehicle, and it speeds through the cemetery gates.
I’m too far away to get a license plate number, but I make a mental note of the make and model of the car.
I jog back to Mellie and grab her elbow, helping her to her feet. “C’mon, we need to get outta here.”
“But what if they’re still out there?” she asks, frantically taking in our surroundings.
“They aren’t. I watched them drive away.”
“You’re sure?”
I shove my gun into my waistband and cup her cheeks. “I’m sure. I’d never do anything to put your safety at risk.”
She takes a deep breath and nods. “I know.”
“Good.” Grabbing her hand, I tug her toward my Harley. “Then let’s get back to the clubhouse.”
