Epilogue

Jersey

While the men were taking out Patrick, the women and I came up with an idea that will make things feel normal.

One we’re putting into play now. We’re going to host a gender reveal party for Boston and Carolina.

They’ve spent so much of their lives being managed and monitored, giving them a celebration that’s purely about their future as parents feels like reclaiming a piece of the humanity the facility tried to strip away.

Letti and Van are already diving into the logistics, their eyes sparkling with a mission that doesn’t involve safe rooms or tactical gear. We’re planning decorations, music, and of course, a reveal that’ll have Carolina squealing and Boston beaming with that wide, unfiltered grin of his.

In a place defined by anarchy and the constant hum of an impending war, this party is our way of drawing a line in the sand.

We’re choosing life and family over the shadows the world is trying to cast over us.

Watching Carolina meticulously organize her scrapbooks for the baby, I realize this isn't just a party for them, it's a reminder for all of us that even in the middle of a shitstorm, there’s still beauty worth fighting for.

As Britton and I watch on in wonder at the way these women work like a well-oiled machine and have everything planned within hours instead of days, I realize that this is what true sisterhood looks like.

They aren’t just checking off a list of party supplies—they’re building a foundation of joy for two people who have known far too much sterile coldness. Every streamer they discuss and every detail about the cake feels like a brick being laid in a fortress of normalcy.

Britton nudges me with her shoulder, a soft smile playing on her lips as she watches Letti debate the merits of blue versus pink glitter with Van.

“They’re incredible, aren't they?” she whispers.

“In a world that wants to tear everything down, they’re experts at building things up.

” I nod, feeling a lump form in my throat.

I’ve spent my life hiding in the cracks, but these women, my sisters, are showing me how to stand in the light. They’re teaching Boston and Carolina that they don’t just have a place to stay, they have a family that celebrates their existence.

We spend the rest of the afternoon lost in the whirlwind of planning.

We decide on a backyard barbecue theme, something relaxed and easy that won’t overstimulate the kids but still feels special.

Carolina joins us halfway through, her eyes widening as we show her the mood board we’ve started.

When she sees the tiny baby shoes we’re planning to use for the reveal, she lets out a breathy gasp, her fingers tentatively reaching out to touch the soft fabric.

“This is for our baby?” Carolina asks, her voice dropping to a whisper that is thick with awe. She looks at us as if she’s seeing a miracle take shape in real-time, the reality of her impending motherhood finally beginning to take root.

“And for you,” I say, my own heart swelling with a fierce, protective warmth. I reach out, wrapping my arm firmly across her shoulder and pulling her into my side, wanting her to feel the solidity of this moment.

As she lays her head on my shoulder and weeps, the tears a release for years of being managed instead of loved, Slayer comes up behind me.

His presence is a grounding heat, a silent promise kept.

Boston mimics his brother, standing behind Carolina with that same unyielding devotion.

As if they practiced it, they wrap their arms around our waists at the same time and pull us back against their chests.

I close my eyes, leaning into Slayer’s strength, realizing that while the world outside is preparing for fire and blood, here in this circle, we have already won.

“Love you, Jersey girl,” he mumbles in my ear, his gravelly voice vibrating through my core.

“Love you too, my mighty Slayer,” I whisper back.

As Boston tenderly walks Carolina away, Slayer gives Britton a meaningful nod.

She takes the hint, offering me a final, supportive squeeze of my hand before she walks off.

Her departure leaves us alone in this secluded corner of the clubhouse, the same space where the frantic planning for the gender reveal and the fallout of the Dragons has been going on since the early hours of this morning.

The silence of the room is heavily charged with the gravity of the news he’s about to deliver.

He pulls me closer, his large frame a physical barricade against my past. “Icer and Shade took off this morning,” he reveals, his tone dropping to a lethal octave that chills my blood.

“Now that Patrick’s detained and no longer a threat to the club’s security, they’re going to take care of your folks.

They won’t ever bother you again. I promise,” he tells me, his eyes searching mine with a terrifying, beautiful honesty.

He isn’t just offering a temporary fix, he’s providing a permanent erasure of the scavengers who treated me like a resource to be tapped.

The shadow of my inheritance, the incessant demands, and the memory of every locked door between me and them is being snuffed out by the man who claimed me as his own.

I look at his large, scarred hands, the same ones that hold me with such tenderness, and realize they are the same hands that just unleashed the club’s most lethal enforcers to ensure my freedom.

“You’re slaying my demons,” I say, tears streaking down my cheeks as the walls of my lifetime of hyper-vigilance finally crumble into the dust. In this small, quiet corner of the clubhouse, amidst the planning for a future that actually includes joy, I finally understand that being untouchable isn’t just about iron gates and safe rooms—it’s about the fierce, uncompromising love of a King.

“That’s my job as your man, Jersey. I’ll slay every fucking thing that tries to hurt you, no matter who they are,” Slayer vows, his voice a low vibration against my skin. His promise is absolute, a decree that seals our future together.

Nobody knows what tomorrow will hold, but I’ve decided to live for today.

Slayer’s taught me that, a lesson I’ve taken to heart and hold tightly to my chest. My past no longer dictates my future, and the predators who once haunted my every waking moment are being neutralized by the very family I chose.

With Slayer at my back and the Kings surrounding me, I am no longer the girl hiding in the nooks and crannies of a cold estate.

I am a woman who is loved, protected, and finally free to breathe.
