Chapter 10

Nico

Lio was on a mission as soon as we got into the house, beelining directly for his rooms. We both ignored anyone we passed and all the speculative looks and hushed whispers.

I knew the pack had to be swirling with rumors and questions since the five days I’d spent with Emilio, but only a select few knew exactly what had happened.

The rest would find out the truth soon enough, but this time was for us.

We went up to Emilio’s suite. I was hoping that he’d ask me to officially move in here with him. It wasn’t that big a deal, as my rooms were literally a floor down, but still, I wanted to share space with him, with my mate.

Lio shut and locked the door, and before I could so much as blink, he was on me, pushing me against the wall. His mouth on mine.

“Fuck, Nico.” His canines were extended and they scraped deliciously along my bottom lip as he spoke.

“I need you, Lio. I’m tired of no one knowing whom I belong to.”

Lio gripped my chin, tilting my head up. His eyes were dark and hungry, his wolf close to the surface.

“You want to wear my mark, little wolf? Proof right there for everyone to see who your alpha is?” His finger pressed into my scent gland, right where I’d be wearing his bite if he would hurry the fuck up.

Lio’s voice was rough, more growl than human at this point, and I didn’t blame him.

My own canines had extended, I was hard as rocks, and I was leaking slick, even though it wasn’t my heat.

“You know I do. And I want you to wear mine too. I see how all the wolves watch you. They need to know you’re taken, alpha.”

Lio’s eyes flashed the bright blue of his wolf before turning darker than ever. “Fuck, baby. I want that too.”

Using his animalistic speed, Emilio turned us away from the wall and had me flat on my back on the bed, his hand slipping to my throat as he climbed on top of me, straddling my waist.

His fingers flexed as his nose slid down my jawline, breathing me in.

“You smell so fucking good.”

Whining just a little, I arched into his touch. My hands slid into his shirt and I dragged my nails up his back.

“You’re wearing too many clothes,” I complained.

Lio snorted. “So are you, little wolf. Let’s fix that, huh?”

He leaned up, just to give enough space to tear my shirt off. “Hey, I liked that one.” I pouted. But I couldn’t be upset for too long because he was kissing me again, and my brain basically melted.

I had no idea how we both ended up naked, but we were.

Our clothes had been piled in a heap on the floor.

I would be shocked if any of them survived, but that was later me’s problem.

My only concern now was getting that thick, hard dick that Emilio was currently holding above me, like a fucking tease, inside me now.

“Lio,” I begged, arching up again. With a wicked grin on his face, Lio grabbed both my ankles in one hand, because he was a fucking beast, and pushed my legs up.

They automatically bent at the knees, and I grabbed at them, holding them out of the way because I needed Lio to have his hands free so they could be on me. Why weren’t they on me yet? Fuck.

Thankfully, he finally had mercy on me, and Lio ran two of his thick digits between my crease, scooping up some of the slick that was leaking freely now.

His eyes never left mine as he took his lubed-up fingers, wrapped them around the length of his dick, and coated himself.

I licked my lips, unable to look away.

“Fuck, baby,” Lio muttered, mostly under his breath. He squeezed my ass cheek before sliding his finger across my crease again, but this time, he pushed a finger inside.

I didn’t really need that. I was an omega. A desperate one. All I needed was Emilio’s cock. And I told him exactly that.

But the fucking sadist only grinned evilly.

“What? You don’t like my fingers inside you?

” His eyes deliberately fell onto my hard and leaking cock.

“I think you might be lying.” He pushed a second finger in.

“In fact, I bet I could make you come just like this, my fingers inside you, completely untouched.

He probably could, but I would lose my fucking mind if that happened.

“Lio, don’t fucking, ugh—” My eyes rolled to the back of my head as he pressed up against my prostate. I abandoned holding my legs, desperate to get some friction on my poor cock. I thought Lio might stop me as I jerked myself off with abandon, but instead it seemed to finally light a fire in him.

He pulled his fingers out unceremoniously, lined himself up, and pushed in with one smooth movement.

“Gods. Lio. Fuck.” I was babbling. I honestly had no idea what I was even saying. Words weren’t wording. Just nonsense.

It didn’t matter. Lio was half wolf, his teeth fully extended, his eyes bright blue.

His claws had extended and were scratching pleasantly along my skin.

The small bite of pain only added to the pleasure.

My wolf was as close to the surface as Lio’s.

He was spurred on by our alpha, desperate to feel his knot and bite.

“Nico, fuck, I love you so much,” Lio blurted, half wolf, half human as he literally pounded me into the mattress.

My brain short-circuited. We were fated mates. I knew that. And I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. Yet somehow, the “L” word had me stopping short, not able to believe it could be real. Not this soon.

“I—” I sputtered, wanting to respond, but I was unable to think clearly enough to form words.

Lio didn’t notice. In fact, I wasn’t sure if he even realized what he’d said.

His hips faltered, the pace changing, him now hitting my prostate every time.

And then his eyes rolled to the back of his head and he stuttered as he orgasmed.

It was all I needed. I came all over my fist and belly before his knot even started to expand.

“Lio.”

He leaned forward, his teeth right against my neck.

“Are you sure, Nico?” He was barely restraining himself but was able to hold back long enough to make sure I consented.

“Fucking bite me, Lio.”

He laughed. “Brat.” Then his teeth sunk into my neck.

I screamed as the pain and pleasure laced through me, and even though I’d just come, I shot again, untouched.

I felt it instantly, even before Lio’s teeth retracted and he licked across the bite, healing it.

The bond that had been there, but dim, just enough to know it was there but barely noticeable unless I was looking for it, began to solidify.

It wasn’t complete yet. It wouldn’t be until I bit Lio as well, but I felt him.

Like a bright light right next to my soul.

I felt his love, his joy, how turned on he still was despite being locked inside me right now.

I couldn’t wait another fucking second. My eyes burned with tears of joy as I reached up, clasped his neck, and brought his head down.

Lio knew what I wanted, but before I marked him, I had to kiss him.

It was hungry, desperate, messy. Perfect.

And then his head fell to my shoulder, his chest heaving with deep breaths.

“Nico, fuck. Fuck, baby.” I’d never heard so much emotion from Lio before. He was usually so composed, and when he did express himself, it was with anger. I rubbed the back of his neck with my thumb, comforting and grounding.

“I’m here, Lio. I always will be.” I extended my canines and slammed them into his neck.

I could feel the eyes of every captain in the pack boring into me as they waited for Emilio to speak. Questions and rumors were swirling through the ranks, and we planned to end all that bullshit today.

“Alright, listen up,” Emilio started. He stood in the front of the room, looking intimidating and sexy as hell.

His hands were shoved in the pockets of his black jeans.

With most people, the pose would seem casual, but Lio somehow managed to make it look deadly, and everyone in the room knew it.

“I’m only going to say this once, and then this conversation is done.

I’m taking no questions.” Behind us, Santino snorted where he was leaning against the door with his arms crossed, taking over the role of muscle that was usually Emilio’s.

I was standing next to Lio, doing my best to look calm and unbothered.

I took deep breaths and regulated my scent as much as possible.

It didn’t make much of a difference; everyone in the room would be able to smell my and Lio’s mixed scent.

I could see a few of the captains glancing in my direction, but none of them dared to speak or stare too long.

“As most of you know, a subset of the Grizzlies lured and attacked Nico, forcing his heat in an attempt to get Santino to attack their leader. It failed, but it did bring some things to light. Nico is my fated. We have completed the bond and are now mates. This changes nothing as far as our roles in this pack. I am still your second. Nico is still cyber security, systems admin, and everything else computer related. If I hear one word, one comment, you’ll be dealing with me directly. Is that clear?”

“Yes, sir,” the room all answered.

“Good, spread the word. Now, onto real business.”

We shifted subjects without pause, moving on to the Grizzlies and what to expect.

Eventually, I took the floor to explain my process for finding Dimitri and then hopefully Arlo.

There were a few other people who were decent enough on computers to help me and who were willing to work with me without attitude, and I immediately recruited them.

After, Lio and Santino took over, checking on the new shored-up borders and listening to how the various businesses were being affected by the Grizzlies’ bullshit.

Arlo’s influence seemed to be growing by the day, despite the failed attempt to get to me.

They were being aggressive now, attacking places that were under the Grizzlies’ protection and ambushing some of the other packs during shipment exchanges.

So far, they hadn’t tried to launch another campaign on us, but we knew better than to become complacent.

Even if the target was the Grizzlies and their fracturing leadership, we all would be in the crosshairs.

As the meeting ended and the captains all began to file out, I braced myself, preparing for comments or looks as they passed, but it didn’t happen.

Most just sent me a respectful nod and went on their way, while a couple of the younger ones wished me well and congratulations on my mating.

It was nice, even if a little weird. The pack had always had mixed reactions toward me.

Those who lived in the packhouse were like family to me.

If any of them had an issue with me, whether because of my mother or that I was an omega, they hid it well enough that none of us knew.

Outside, things were a little different though.

Once I’d shifted into a white wolf, most had thawed enough to tolerate me, but there were some of the older captains, the ones that had been appointed by my father, that showed their disdain as openly as they dared without facing Santino’s or Emilio’s wrath.

They would never touch me, and they were careful not to say anything where my brother or Lio could hear, but it didn’t stop them completely from expressing their opinions that I had no business being a part of this family.

Lio came to me once the last captain left and wrapped his arms around me. Immediately, I melted into his hold. He kissed the top of my head.

“It’s done. They know.” I nodded but didn’t answer. It was silly, since they basically all knew already, but it was official now. I was Lio’s and the whole pack knew it.

“C’mon, little wolf. We have work to do.”
