10. Chapter 9
Psycho
“I don’t need a babysitter,” I say to Fury as I pass Tate some cotton candy as we walk down Rose Meadow High Street. People pass us, giving us room, while the women openly check us out, which we both ignore.
Some women love the cuts and what they stand for, especially the one percenter patch, while others look down on us but still want to fuck us and if we have Tate with us, it’s like dangling a piece of meat in front of a pack of lions.
They fucking love it but Fury and I, we don’t. We have women that we want but can’t seem to have and we’re both moody fuckers because of it which doesn’t bode well if someone tries to talk to us.
It’ll be a toss-up if I snap or Fury.
“Yeah, you do,” he says with a snort before shoving some candy into his mouth, and I shake my head, unwilling to argue with him.
After he ended things with Skylar, brothers watched him around the clock and now, he seems to think, along with Venom that I need watching as well.
I mean I don’t really know why, it’s not like I’m going to go all psycho, okay, maybe I will but honestly so would every other brother if he’s just had to endure what we have, something that Ivy was supposed to sit through but cancelled last minute pissing me the fuck off.
In order to try to block me out, she’s punishing Tate in the process.
We’ve just sat through two hours of some kiddie cartoon at the movies, something Ivy planned a few weeks ago, and Fury decided to tag along when I said I’d take her instead, something I tried to deny him, but Blade ordered it.
I get it. The brothers are concerned. I’ve barely been at the club while Ivy hasn’t been there at all, and they don’t know what to do. They also know I’m reaching my breaking point.
She’s now ignoring all private numbers that call her, something I tried once, but she hung up hearing my voice, breaking me, and she’s refusing to see her father.
He blames me, the club most likely blames me, and I blame myself, so it’s all good. Let me stew in peace.
“She’ll come around brother,” Fury mutters but I shake my head and instantly deny, “No she won’t.
She believes I screwed Misty, not willing to hear my side or even answer Venom’s calls to hear it from him,” I look at him, “She accused me of being scared of hurting her and yet she’s the scared one right now.
The old Ivy would have confronted me after seeing Misty walk out of the officer hallway, not run away. ”
Fury sighs, knowing I’m right.
I may be scared of hurting her, but she’s scared of being hurt.
“Sky-Sky!” Tate shouts, getting our attention and I look up to see Skylar and Raya in deep conversation, but both their heads shoot our way when they hear Tate, and of course, they both grin.
I let go of Tate’s hand, and she rushes over on her chubby little legs towards one of her favorite people, making Fury sigh. We slow our pace as we watch Skylar crouch down and catch the little darling.
“She’ll welcome her with open arms, the reason why I had to end it between us, yet she won’t give me a chance,” Fury mutters, and I sigh.
Tate was around eight weeks old when she met Skylar.
She was a temporary receptionist at the doctor’s office, and Fury had to take Tate for her vaccines. She tried to get her colleague to clock them in, but Fury threatened to lose it if she did, so Skylar relented. Without looking at Fury, she logged Tate in while subtly peeking into the carrier.
Fury said it was love at first sight for Skylar.
He mentioned the look she had reminded him of a mother looking at her child and my heart fucking broke for him because he knew he made a mistake not allowing her to be involved from the get-go.
As soon as Tate started crying after her shots and he couldn’t calm her down, Skylar stepped in and took her from him causing the little princess to calm instantly.
Though I don’t know how Tate has such a strong bond with her now, she only sees the girl in passing.
“Tate isn’t why she won’t give you a chance brother,” I state as I look at him and as we lock eyes. I remind him, “You started your relationship on a lie for her biological father, so in her eyes, your feelings weren’t true, and the trust is broken. You need to earn her trust back…”
He looks towards his girls, and I do the same. I know he sees that I’m right about how lovingly Skylar is looking at his little girl, cradling her in her arms.
We stop before them as Tate whispers, “When is our next play date?” and Fury and I look at each other in confusion.
“What does she mean by next play date?” Fury demands, but Skylar ignores him and asks Tate softly, “Have you been a good girl?”
Tate nods frantically, and Skylar grins, a grin much like Blade’s…
“Have you spoken to Ivy?” I ask, looking at Raya, whose head whips my way. Her icy blue eyes are wide with shock, and I raise a brow at her.
She clears her throat and admits, “I did this morning. She’s uh, she’s working right now. "
I hum and nod, but am not happy with her answer. Every time I have seen this woman, she has said the same thing and honestly it is beginning to piss me off.
“Did you f-u-c-k Misty?” Skylar suddenly asks, and this time, Fury and I look at her with shock.
How in the hell would she know that?
I side-eye Raya, but she doesn’t have an ounce of guilt radiating from her, meaning the information must have come from Ives.
“No, I didn’t,” I admit, looking back at Skylar, who narrows her dark blue eyes, but I ignore the look and state, “She didn’t give me a chance to explain, she ran out before I could even see her in the common room.”
Skylar tilts her head, and a look I have seen on Blade several times crosses her face before she says, “And yet you told her you two can’t be together.”
I narrow my eyes at the woman.
Years she has had nothing to do with the club, or so we thought, and now she’s butting in.
“I only said that because she wanted to move to New York,” I say, and watch her to see how she reacts.
Is she friends with Ivy?
Fuck Blade will be pissed if she is, and Ivy hasn’t said anything. And don’t get me started on the man beside me, who I can feel vibrating with anger.
“Only because she doesn’t want to see you screwing other women,” she confirms my thoughts and my mouth drops.
“You’re friends with Ivy,” I accuse, and she shrugs and gently kisses Tate's palms.
“Ivy, Sky, and I have been friends for a long time,” Raya confesses, then adds, “We’re also close to Lake.”
“Randy’s girl?” Fury asks in shock and Raya nods then looks at me with a little bit of pity and says, “She loves you Psycho but what you did hurt her, and I get it, you did it for her but if you truly love her, I am begging you, fight for her, stop what is about to happen.”
Skylar nods in agreement, and I furrow my brows as I look between them.
What the fuck do they know that I don’t?
I open my mouth, but before I can question the fear that they’re both showing a bike grabs all our attention, and Raya bites her bottom lip, noticing Venom.
I smirk as Fury rubs his mouth to hide his grin, while Skylar laughs openly which causes Raya to take Tate, who goes willingly…
What the fuck?
“Since when did my daughter get close with Raya?” Fury questions quietly and I shake my head because fuck, I don’t know and I mutter, “Probably the same time she got close with Skylar I’m guessing,” I side eye him, “Did you not ever wonder how Tate became obsessed with Skylar when she won’t speak to you? ”
He frowns, looking between the three of them. They all ignore us, watching Venom speed down the road before skidding near us, causing Tate to giggle.
He sticks his tongue out at Tate and blows a raspberry while Raya looks away as he sends her a glare before he looks our way, and I tense along with Fury at the anger he’s trying to hide from Tate.
“She’s getting fucking married!” Venom snaps as he climbs off his bike, glaring at Raya again, and I frown.
“Who?” I ask in confusion, but my heart stops when he admits, “My sister,” not looking away from Raya.
“You knew though didn’t you, Raya!” he says, spitting her name making her flinch so hard it’s like he hit her and Skylar pipes in, “Stop looking at her like that jackass!”
Venom glares at Skylar but does a double take, realizing who she is. She raises a brow at him and admits, “Both Raya and I knew, so if you dare take your crap out on her, then I dare you to take it out on me too.”
“Fuck, I’m hard,” Fury mutters but I can’t even laugh.
She’s getting married after two weeks of dating.
No, fuck, no, no, no…
“When?” I snap, ignoring everyone else.
Venom doesn’t take his eyes off the ladies, looking between them with the same confusion we’ve had, and admits, “In four months, she told me by text, but it’ll be small, and brothers are only welcome if they behave.”
Mother fucker.
Raya looks up, and we lock eyes. Her words swim in my head, and I remember her plea to fight for her and claim her from moments ago.
She gives me a slight nod, and I nod back. I grab my phone, and without breaking eye contact with Raya, I bring up my keypad and press the emergency button, knowing it will send me straight to who I need.
Blade answers after the third ring, but I don’t give him a chance to say anything, knowing he’ll chew me out for interrupting his time with Luna. Instead, I state, “She’s getting married, she’s fucking getting married.”
“Who?” he asks in confusion, and I snap, “Fucking Ivy!” causing the girls to flinch and I wince looking at a shocked face Tate.
Skylar quickly takes her from Raya, who pouts but soon smiles when Tate begins giggling. Skylar distracts her while Fury melts beside me, causing Venom to side-eye him with a raised brow.
Badass what?
“No, she’s not,” Blade denies, and I chuckle darkly and admit, “She’s just shocked the shit outta Venom and by fucking text. She says the wedding will be small in four months, and brothers are welcome if they behave.”
He’s quiet for a moment before he begins, “Psycho…” But I cut him off and demand, “Do you have my back?”
A plan is forming, something Fury put in my head. By the looks of Venom’s and Fury’s faces, they know what I’m going to do, but I need to plan it right.
Blade clears his throat and mutters, “Don’t do something fucking stupid, brother.”
I’m fucking beyond doing something stupid, like fuck is she marrying someone else. I made a fucking mistake. I should have claimed her.
Fuck New York, fuck her living her best life, I am her best life.
I snap, “Do you have my fucking back?!”
“Always, brother, I always have your back,” he confirms, and I mutter, “Then that is all I need,” before hanging up and I lock eyes with Raya, hers full of relief, and I nod.
Her best friend, yet she’s not happy for her, neither of them are.
That is all the confirmation I need.
“Stop fucking looking at my brother like that!” Venom snaps and I raise a brow at him but wince when he accuses, “You’re not having his fucking patch to piss off daddy!”
“Ah fuck…” Fury mutters as we watch pure anger radiate off Raya, something I have never seen before, while Skylar winces and steps back with Tate, her face paling a little.
Ah shit, she’s going to blow.
Not seeing the redness currently building on Raya’s cheeks he sneers, “Why don’t you go and spend daddy’s money instead of getting in my family’s business and while you’re at it, stay the fuck away from my sister!”
“And he’s done it,” Fury sighs just as Raya snaps, “Oh fuck off, Venom!” and my eyes widen, “Go and get some club girl to suck your dick, you know because you can’t get it anywhere else especially if you’re not wearing that leather!”
Venom scoffs, “Oh, so the kitten has claws, huh?”
Fucks sake he’s just digging himself in a hole...
Raya curls her lip at him and sneers, “Yeah, I do, and if you’re not careful, I’m going to scratch your eyes out, so back off, wanna be biker boy before I do something that you will regret and keep my daddy’s name out of your stupid ass mouth!”
I quickly clamp my teeth on my bottom lip to stop my laughter while Fury quickly looks my way and mouths, “Wanna be biker boy?”
My shoulders shake with the silent laughter I’m trying to hold back as we look at the squabbling pair.
Venom’s brows rise at her fight, but she ignores our reactions and turns to a grinning Skylar and says, “I’ve got to get back to work. I’ll call you.”
Skylar nods, and Tate quickly kisses Raya’s cheek as she hugs Skylar and her before she turns to me and says, “Fight for her.”
I nod in return before she looks at Venom with disgust instead of the shy girl with a crush and walks away without another word.
He tenses his jaw and fists his hands, and I smirk and mutter to Fury, “I’ll give it a year.” He returns, “Five months, a grand, you are on,” and we bump fists.
“And you wonder why I want nothing to do with the brotherhood with how you treat women,” Skylah sighs, shaking her head.
She gives Tate a kiss and instead of handing her to her dad, not wanting to be near him causing him to now fist his hands, she passes her to me and says to a pouting Tate, “I’ll see you soon sweetheart,” before giving me a pointed look then walks away without another word and Fury curses.
“Daddy said a no-no,” Tate whispers, and I hum, kissing her head.
Shaking his head Venom looks at me, taking his eyes off Raya’s ass, something he’ll deny looking at and confirms, “Chloroform?” and I nod in agreement and repeat, “Chloroform,” causing Fury to sigh and mutter, “Knew I should have kept my plans to myself,” and I shrug.
It’s time to start planning and get my girl back, and hopefully, I won’t do what my dad did to my mama and hurt her more than I already have and that she won’t resent me because it’s time to fight for her.
