Chapter 12 – David
I had spotted Rich the moment I got out of my car.
I went to call over to him when I noticed he was acting strange, looking around the car park like he was looking for something.
That’s when I spot the man in front of him.
Someone who looks vaguely familiar. But then I suppose the back of anyone’s head could look familiar.
I duck down so that he doesn’t spot me, and sidle up to the car next to me, so I can spy on them through the windows.
They seem to know each other, and I wish I was closer to hear what they’re saying, and then I see Rich’s demeanour change.
Anyone else wouldn’t see it, but it’s one I have seen many times before, normally when Rich is submitting to me.
Now he’s submitting to this man. Hatred surges through my veins, but at who, I’m not sure.
Rich, for allowing this to happen, the stranger, for knowing intimate details about Rich?
I should stand, let Rich know I’m here. Maybe he’ll introduce me to this man, explain to me what’s going on, but I don’t.
I stay hidden, watching as Rich takes back control, until finally, they’re hugging, and the stranger gets into his car and drives away.
That’s when I stand and look over to Rich.
His eyes widen the second he sees me, and I spot the panic on his face.
“Dave,” Rich calls out, but I’m not in the frame of mind to talk to him. I need to make sure that I have my emotions in check before I do. So, ignoring him, I start to walk towards the building, but Rich is fast.
“Dave, please,” he starts grabbing my hand, stopping me in my tracks.
“Let me go,” I hiss. My emotions are too raw at the moment.
“Please, I can explain,” Rich starts.
“No.” I cannot do this here; this needs to happen somewhere private. “Your place. Later,” I say as I pull my arm free, and Rich just nods his head.
Walking into HQ, I make my way straight to the gym, sending a quick text to Daniel to let him know I’m here early. I change into some black shorts and a grey t-shirt. This wasn’t where I was supposed to go when I first arrived, but I need to expel some of this energy. Clear my head.
By the time Daniel arrives at the gym, fifteen minutes later, there is already a damp ring of sweat around the neck of my t-shirt. I have been pounding the treadmill. Possibly pushing myself more than I should. Ignoring the pain in my legs.
“Jesus, David. What the hell has gotten into you?” Daniel demands. “Slow down.”
Pushing a few buttons on the treadmill, I slow down my pace until I’m walking, so I can cool down.
“I needed to run.”
“That, I can see,” Daniel states. “But running from what, my friend?”
I open my mouth, but to say what? ‘I just witnessed my boyfriend submit to another man’? It would be an interesting way to come out. Then, I would have to explain who the boyfriend was, and it would just open a whole can of worms that neither Rich nor I want.
“Nothing,” I reply, as I get off the treadmill.
“It’s more than nothing, but I’m not going to pry. Remember that you can talk to me,” Daniel says.
“I know.” Because I do. Daniel is a good guy, one of those people who knows when something is wrong with someone but won’t push for your answers. He just lets you know he’s there, when you’re ready for a listening ear, and no judgement.
“Maybe we should do some gentle exercises for a few. I think you just punished your body enough,” Daniel says.
“I’m okay.”
“David, I don’t think you are. So yeah, gentle exercises.”
Over the next few hours, I went through the motions of a normal day at HQ.
I finished my exercise with Daniel, did some reaction time training, which was perfect for me.
I switched off everything that was going on in my mind and concentrated on the light board in front of me.
I then had a meeting with my engineers, where we discussed the race coming up in Austin.
I studied the track and discussed the best tyre strategies.
I literally spent the day doing anything I could to stop myself from thinking about what I witnessed.
“Hey, have you heard that Vincent hired a new physio for Lars?” One of the engineers tells me, as we’re finishing off. “He’s flying out with us on Monday.”
“Anyone meet him?” I ask.
“Not yet. He’s only had his interview. Someone saw Richard walk him out, but I heard that he’s coming in tomorrow. So I’m guessing that introductions will be made tomorrow.”
This must be the man I saw in the car park with Richard. How the hell do they know each other? Did Richard get him the job? But that makes me ask why. I can feel my anger rising within me. Our time in Singapore and Monaco had been so special, and now I’m standing here, questioning everything.
“You okay, David?”
“Yeah, why?” Looking at my engineer.
“You just have a look on your face like you want to punch someone.”
Oh, I want to punch someone alright, and it’s the tall stranger with the light brown hair who’s able to dominate my boyfriend. The only person that should be able to do that is me.
“Sorry,” I say, pretending to laugh, “just been a day. I think I’m going to head home. Get some rest. See you tomorrow, alright guys?”
“Sure.”
Walking out of the engineer room, I look up and see Richard. He looks up at me, and I can see the worry in his eyes. He takes a step towards me, and I just walk in the opposite direction, fast. I need to get out of this building, and I manage to get to my car before I hear his voice behind me.
“Dave.”
“Rich,” I managed to get out.
“Follow me home. We need to talk.”
“Fine,” I say, because I know he’s right.
Getting into my car, I start the engine and wait. I watch as Richard walks over to his own car and pulls out. But I don’t move, I decide to give Rich a few minutes head start, and it gives me the chance to compose myself. Finally, taking a deep breath, I pull out of the car park.
Rich’s place, like Vincent’s, isn’t that far from HQ, but it’s just as secure.
Rich might not be the CEO, but he can still attract the press, and headlines.
And me arriving alone at Rich’s place would definitely generate those headlines.
I don’t want to deal with them, on top of everything else, so I keep my eyes peeled as I go up to Rich’s house.
Luckily, I don’t see anyone. The house is surrounded by a wooden fence, which is broken by a set of gates that lead you onto a driveway.
Quickly tapping the key code, I wait for the gates to open and drive in. Rich’s house always reminds me of a typical bachelor pad. All clean lines and sharp edges, with large windows, but it’s a lovely place.
I wait in the car until the gates close behind me before getting out of the car.
The front door is opening as I get to it.
Rich had to have been watching me, and he’s just standing there, looking at me.
I suddenly don’t want to talk. I want to show this man who he belongs to.
That no one else has any claim over him.
It took us too long to get here, and there is no going back now. Rich needs to understand that.
Striding over to Rich, I run my hand into his hair, tugging at the roots and pulling him towards me, locking our lips together, my tongue invading his mouth to deepen the kiss before Rich has the chance to say anything. Taking a step back, Rich opens his mouth, but I beat him to it.
“Bedroom, now,” I command, deliberately changing the arch of my voice. Rich looks at me like he wants to say something, but then his body language shifts, and he looks down at the floor. Well, this is new. “Look at me.”
Rich’s head snaps up at me. Oh, yes, this is something very new.
“I said, bedroom, now.” Rich turns and strides towards the stairs, with me following him.
When we get upstairs, I follow him to his bedroom, and as we walk in I notice that he’s changed his bed since the last time I was here.
If I’m not mistaken, it’s a carbon copy of the bed I have in Monaco.
I thought the bed looked good in my apartment, but it looks even better here, nestled between two matching bedside tables.
“Someone got a new bed?” I say over to Rich, but I don’t get a reply, he just stands there, and I’m suddenly not sure what to do with this new level of submission, when a voice in the back of my mind says, yes, you do.
“Answer me!” I demand.
“Yes sir, I did.”
“When I ask you a question, you are to answer me immediately, and you are to look at me.”
Rich turns and looks at me, and God, he looks beautiful as he mutters, “Yes sir.”
“You are to call me baby, too,” I state, as I think back to the scene in the car park. Rich would have called him sir, I’m sure. I’m not like that other man. I’m more than just sir.
“Yes, baby.”
Me asking him to call me baby was a spur of the moment idea. But hearing it fall from his lips sounds sexy as fuck, and all the blood rushing south agrees with me.
“So, we seem to have added a new level tonight. I think a safe word is needed. I don’t want to push you too far.”
“Chequered,” Rich states, maybe a little too quickly for my liking, but I try not to smile as he uses a racing flag.
“Is this one you’ve used before? Because I do not want that. This is a word just for us.”
“No, baby. Just you.”
“Good. Now, I need you to strip, and then you are to undress me. When that is done, I’m guessing you have some equipment to go with the new bed?”
“I do.”
When I arrived here this evening, I didn’t think this was going to happen, and I know we need to talk about that man, but I need this, instead. Need the control. Need his submission to me.
I take a step back and watch as Rich slowly removes his clothes, folding them neatly, and putting them to the side, before he undresses me.
Only when we’re both standing there naked do I take a step towards him, and run a finger down the centre of his chest before wrapping it around his dick and pumping it slowly.
