Chapter 20

JOEL

“No, no. no. More hip, less butt. Like this.” Corvin sashays down the hall like it’s a runway as I adjust my cock so I don’t forget I have one.

“Hey, Joel. Smile!” Haven calls my way as she snaps a photo of us all dressed in drag.

Twister’s master plan depends on a distraction of epic proportions.

Pantheon hosts a drag show every third Thursday of the month. We’re banking on the current group renting the place not knowing the date, and us playing up the fact that we fucked up the dates.

We just need to keep them occupied long enough to get inside to speak to the owner, which is Flick, of course, about the mix-up. But we have to sell it. We can’t just show up in bad makeup. These are professional queens, so Corvin is running us through everything like it’s speed dating.

“We’re running out of time here!” The auction is starting in less than an hour, and we have to be at Pantheon’s door right at midnight.

“Cinderella cannot be late,” I say under my breath, and the guys lose their shit cause I’m the one who fits that description.

“I can’t work like this.” Corvin throws his hands up dramatically, and Bars copies his movements and tone.

“Perfect. I think we’re ready.” Corvin claps and takes one more look at us.

“Alright, everyone on board.” Haven moves to a stretch Hummer limo and opens the door.

She’s dressed as a chauffeur, and my dick hasn’t gone down since she got here with an armful of dresses and a smirk that would rival any cat with a canary joke I could ever possibly make.

“Can you wear that to bed later?” I ask as I go to climb into the limo.

“I’m sorry, ma’am, but I’m a claimed woman.” I roll my eyes at my men cat-calling and whistling at us.

“Shut the fuck up and look in a mirror, assholes.” I flip my wig over my shoulder and fix my dress before crossing my feet at my ankles like a lady, just like Corvin taught us.

“Excellent!” he calls over to me, then wrinkles his nose at the others.

“We’ve got the car ride to fix your posture.” He pokes at Bars, who surprisingly looks like his twin sister in the get-up.

“Yeah, I know. I look like Anabelle. Shut it.” I chuckle as the limo starts to move.

We all grow quiet as we approach the nightclub whose parking lot is packed.

The doors are roped off, and we can see the private security hired for this special event are all packing guns.

Our outfits only allowed for Bars and Screw to carry firepower.

The rest of us all have knives hidden on our bodies.

Only one of us needs to get inside, and that’s Twister, who’s posing as our manager.

He’s dressed to kill in a suit that cost more than my first car.

“You good?” I ask him, and all I get is a nod.

Well, he’s either in the zone or too angry to talk. Neither bodes well for Helena’s stepson tonight. Twister has murder and revenge in his eyes, and I feel sorry for whoever gets in his way.

“Alright, ladies, smiles, smirks, and resting bitch faces. Chins and tits up, ‘cause it’s show time.” Corvin says as we all start to exit the limo.

Immediately, chaos ensues.

Flick, Tank, and Helena are already inside. They snuck in with the caterers earlier and have been lying in wait to switch Tank for Dante Rossi.

The auction starts in fifteen minutes, and Dante needs to be in his seat ready to bid. Which means we need to move. I can see one of the guards radioing in the problem, and a few minutes later, Flick comes out waving at Twister.

“What the hell is going on, Andrew? Three years of partnership and you sell our night?” Twister puts his hands on his hips with a flare as he yells at Flick.

“There must be some misunderstanding. Come into my office to sort it out, but can you get the ladies back into the limo so we can clear the way for the other guests?” We all climb back in and watch Twister enter with Flick.

“Haven, pull around to the back entrance.”

Part one accomplished, but now it’s up to the crew inside while we sit on our hands and wait.

Helena

We watch from Flick’s office as Enzo enters the building. I tap Antonio’s arm as he paces the tiny room.

“Are you ready?” He nods and adjusts his tie.

I hand him the mask and the paddle with Dante’s number on it.

“Sit in the front row, third chair on the left of the center row. Don’t talk to anyone.

Keep your nose up in the air like you’re better than everyone.

Bid low a couple of times and then leave in a huff when you don’t win anyone.

My driver will be outside waiting for you.

” I put my hand on the door handle and twist it, but before I can open it, Tank grabs my arm.

“Where the fuck are you going?” I smile at him.

“You have your job. I have mine. Tell Enzo I’ll be in the back women’s bathroom. Don’t be late.” I nod at him and make my way down the hall and through the kitchen.

I wait until I see Dante and then slip into the crowd.

He catches me out of the corner of his eye and instantly breaks away from the conversation he’s having. Good, he took my bait. I led him to the bathroom I told Antonio about. The one with a low window and my Ducati waiting.

The door closes behind me, but before I hear it click shut thoroughly, it reopens. I smirk as I keep my back to the asshole, waiting for him to speak first.

“Hello, mommy dearest. What an unexpected pleasure to see you here, of all places. Isn’t this one of the events Daddy bought you at?

Are you in the market for a new husband?

There are easier ways. You could accept my proposal.

After all, I am closer to your age and could satisfy you way better than the old man could.

” I can feel him getting closer, but I don’t move an inch.

“Are you too good to talk to me, you ungrateful slut.” There it is.

The famous Rossi temper.

“Not at all, Dante. I just didn’t want to deprive you of the sound of your own voice.

You do seem to love it so. Have you decided who you’ll be bidding on?

Let me guess. Blonde, blue eyes, my size and shape?

Can’t have the real thing, so you’ll buy the next best thing?

” He grabs for me, but I sidestep and get closer to the window ledge and further away from the door, but most importantly, the mirrors.

‘Cause Enzo is creeping in the door, and I don’t want Dante to catch the movement.

“You know he bought you for me. But the greedy old man couldn’t fathom letting me have a virgin.

He had to dirty you up first, and he got hooked on you.

Tell me, what is it about Helena’s pussy that led my father to his grave?

” I let him grab my chin, and I lean in close to whisper the last words he’ll ever hear.

“You’ll never have the pleasure of finding out. Isn’t that so, my love?” Dante flinches and turns around.

The last thing he sees is the gun in his face as I dodge to the left to get out of range of the shot.

BANG!

I take one second of satisfaction to look down at his dead body.

“Thank you,” I say as a tear runs down my face.

“It’s finally over.” I smile up at Enzo and cup his face.

I jab a needle into his neck, and his body falls to the floor.

“Forgive me.”

I climb out the window and go around the corner to the limo idling in wait. I knock on the window, and the woman in the driver’s seat lowers it.

“You must be Helena. I see why Twist is so far gone for you.” I smile and nod.

“Nice to meet you, Haven. I’ve heard nothing but good things. Like the way you enjoy disappearing bodies. Well, I have one in the women’s bathroom. Can you be a gem and burn the son of a bitch?” Haven glances over her shoulder and then turns with a smile.

“What are friends for?”

I squeeze her shoulder and dash for my bike as the doors to the limo open. I take one look at Cable before I put my helmet on and drive off.

He’ll forgive me…hopefully.
