Chapter 13 #4

Feeling like the sexiest woman alive, Toni bent forward, bracing her hands on the cushioned seat, still warm from their day on the bike. She shifted her legs as wide as her pants would allow…and waited.

For several long heartbeats, all she heard were the sounds of the surrounding forest and her own heavy breathing echoed inside her helmet. She imagined him standing behind her, admiring her body that was his for the taking.

Then she felt his body heat behind her. His gloved hand trailed up her long leg, over her bare hip, and onto her leather jacket. He slowly traced up her spine, causing Toni to shake as she fought to keep her stance. Sweat coated her palms on the leather seats, making them slick.

Ranger crested her shoulder, following all the way down to her hand.

He caged her in, his chest against her back and the roughness of his jeans causing friction against the back of her thighs.

Toni could feel how wet she was for him, needing him so badly.

Lacing his fingers between hers, Ranger paused for just a moment.

He squeezed her hand, an unspoken question she knew he needed answered before he would continue.

She nodded, overemphasizing the movement with the helmet on her head.

He squeezed her hand again. That small pause, that little check in, all Toni needed to know that Ranger was a man worth fighting for. No matter what happened in their future, she would never stop fighting for him, for this.

Maybe there was a word for it, and maybe that word freaked her out so much that she was specifically removing it from her vocabulary. But that didn’t change the connection, the desire, she felt for this incredibly selfless man.

He snaked his hand up, and clamped it around her throat. Not enough to cut off her air, but no less a dominant hold. “Then beg,” he told her. Despite their helmets, it felt like his lips were right there at her ear.

The sound that escaped Toni could only be described as a keening whine. “Oh God… Liam! Please! Please fuck me! I need you. I need you so badly. I feel like I’m going insane. Please!”

The words barely left her lips before she felt him at her entrance. He drove inside her in a single, powerful thrust.

Toni’s cry at his roughness was in no way out of pain. She was so turned on that the lack of foreplay somehow made the moment better. He was finally inside her, owning her, claiming her, and there wasn’t a single cell in her body objecting. It was fast, brutal, and perfect.

Her orgasm took her by surprise, not sure she’d ever come by penetration alone before.

She screamed so loud that she drowned out Ranger’s at his release and made her own ears hurt inside the helmet.

When her body was no longer able to keep itself upright, he caught her around the middle.

Feeling like her bones had turned to mush, Toni allowed herself to be shifted and manipulated as he righted her panties and jeans.

He removed her helmet, which she was grateful for as it was getting stiflingly hot and hard to breathe.

She didn’t see him take care of the condom or himself, but trusted he’d used one.

They’d discussed a while ago that they would continue to, even though she was on the Pill.

Settling them down at the base of a tree, Ranger held her close, kissing her cheek and running his fingers through her hair.

“So what was it you were saying about being late?” he inquired eventually.

Toni couldn’t have controlled her laughter if she tried. “Worth it.”

By the time Ranger pulled into Cross’ driveway, it was after dark and there was only one other cage in it besides Cross’.

Maybe Ranger could have chosen a better time to role play that scene he’d read last night in Toni’s book.

Maybe. It wasn’t his fault he’d had trouble falling asleep.

And it had been so fucking perfect! She had been fucking perfect.

Who knew repeating a line from one of her romance books would get her so riled up?

Ranger would never understand the stigma behind women reading—what was the word Toni used?

—cliterature? He saw it no differently than when he’d “read” Playboy magazines as a teen.

And if it got that reaction out of her… Well, he might just have to start reading more.

Cross’ front door opened as Brently, another of Cross’ sponsees, exited the house.

Ranger had parked behind Cross’ cage, so he wasn’t blocking anyone in.

After helping Toni off and removing her helmet for her, Ranger removed his own along with his cut.

It was a habit for him to not wear his colors at AA.

Toni took it and folded it nicely before putting it and both their helmets in his saddlebags.

Ranger approached Brently, offering the man his hand. “How pissed is he that we missed the dinner?”

“Pissed?” Brently repeated, shaking his head. “Try disappointed.”

Ranger winced. “That’s even worse.”

“Don’t I know it. How’ve you been?” Brently was from Johnstown, so Ranger generally only saw him at the Sunday lunches Cross hosted.

“Few rough days,” Ranger admitted, knowing better than to go with the vague party line of “fine”. “But I got through them. You?”

“Comes and goes. Still having trouble finding a new job, which doesn’t help with the stress levels.” Brently shrugged. “But I’ve got a few interviews lined up for next week. We’ll see what happens.”

“Good. I hope you find something.” Feeling Toni approach next to him, Ranger linked an arm around her waist. “Have you met my girlfriend, Toni, yet?”

“Don’t think so.” Brently smiled at her and offered his hand. “Very nice to meet you. I’m Brently.”

“Toni,” she offered, shaking his hand. Her eyes kept flicking to the doorway of Cross’ house that Ranger was dutifully ignoring.

Brently glanced over his shoulder, catching sight of Cross’ silhouette. “Best not to keep him waiting. He feels really bad about not being around the past couple weeks. Even tried to bake a cake. Whatever you think it tastes like, say it’s pineapple. Trust me.”

Ranger grimaced, knowing he was likely going to have to eat the pineapple-not-pineapple cake to make up for their absence.
