7. Raven
Chapter seven
Raven
Hanging from the ceiling, the chains wrap around my arms, my feet stay strapped to the ground.
The feeling of the blade runs across my skin, I can hear him grunting, “Sweetness, nothing is better than the sight of your blood while my cock is buried so deep inside you.”
No… no, no, no, please stop!
“MAKE IT STOPPP!” I jolt awake screaming with tears running down my face, my eyes wild.
“Raven, you're safe. We’ve got you. You're safe.” Damien whispers, grabbing me and pulling me closer to him while holding my hand. Reyes grabs my other hand while Luis puts his hand on my thigh, rubbing small comforting circles. They all have worried looks on their faces. I haven’t woken up from a nightmare like that in a long time.
“Want to tell us what your nightmare was about, Tesora?” Luis asks cautiously. I let out a long breath.
“I don’t really want to talk about it right now, maybe eventually, but I just can’t right now. It’s a lot to unpack and I’ve kept it buried for so long.” I close my eyes and take a breath trying to calm my racing heart.
“It’s okay, Baby Girl. You don’t have to tell us right now, just know we got you. We won’t let anything happen to you ever again. Before you come off with the attitude and some smartass remark, yes, we know you can take care of yourself. We just want you to know we can help.” Reyes says while squeezing my hand.
“Fine, no attitude right now, as long as you know I can take care of myself. I haven’t ever depended on anyone, and I won’t start now.” I huff out in annoyance, rolling my eyes as they all nod.
“Okay, well I have to get up and get ready to go. There’s a few things I need to do today, but would y’all want to come to Sirens tonight with me and Naomi? We need a night out and she told me to bring y’all, so this is me asking.” I say, crawling to the end of the bed to get up. Naomi is always trying to set some shit up, so her inviting the guys should have been a no-brainer.
“There are extra toothbrushes and stuff in my bathroom, if you need any,” I add, walking to my closet and turning the light on. Damien walks up behind me and lightly kisses my shoulder.
“I’ll go make some breakfast while you get ready. I’m down to go tonight.” He states before turning and walking out. Grabbing some black ripped jeans and a black band tee, I throw them on my bed as I head to the bathroom. Luis and Reyes are each at a sink. Thank God for double sinks. Grabbing my brush and running it through my hair, I twist it into a quick little braid.
“I’ll go down and help Damien.” Reyes says, kissing my head as he walks out. Walking up to the open sink, I brush my teeth and quickly throw on some eye makeup. As soon as I finish my liner, Luis walks up behind me and wraps his arms around my waist.
“I know we’re invading your space, but all you have to do is say the word, and we will leave. We don’t want to push anything on you,” he whispers, running his nose up my neck. I spin in his arms and meet his stare.
“You guys aren’t invading my space. This is all just a little different, and I don’t really know how to feel about any of it. However, waking up from a nightmare and having someone here for a change was kind of nice. You barely know me, but y’all sure try to spend a lot of time with me. Do y’all do this with a lot of girls?” I pry, causing him to laugh.
“Raven, one thing you need to know about us, is that we have never shared a girl. I damn sure didn’t think I’d like the same girl my brother and best friend do. So this is definitely new territory for us as well. We normally don’t spend much time with women.” He explains as he follows me out of the bathroom.
“I’ll go take over breakfast so Damien can come get ready.” He adds before walking out of the room, leaving me wondering why they chose me. They could have anyone they wanted, so what was so great about me? Undressing, I grab my clothes from the bed and start to put them on. Walking to my closet, I grab my combat boots, sliding them on and lacing them up.
“Breakfast is almost done. I’ll only be a minute.” Damien states, entering my room and walking to the bathroom. Nodding, I get up from the bed and walk over to my desk. Picking up the holster, I strap one around my waist and another on my thigh. I add my throwing knives to my thigh holster and my twin purple curved daggers, along with Glock 9MM, to my waist. Grabbing my phone off the nightstand, I put it in my back pocket and head downstairs.
Entering the kitchen, I pull out one of the stools from the island and sit down. Before I can say anything, Reyes hands me a plate that’s loaded with pancakes, eggs, and avocado toast. I quirk a brow at him while picking up my fork.
“You know how long it’s been since I’ve had anything but coffee for breakfast?” I chuckle as I take a bite, groaning as the sugary syrup hits my tastebuds.
“Well, Damien made the pancakes before I came down, I cooked the eggs, and Luis worked on the toast. We figured you needed to eat something. You can’t survive on just coffee and water.” Reyes chuckles while finishing the dishes. Jesus I haven’t ever seen a man clean up his mess. “Also, what's up with all the knives and stuff strapped to you?” He adds, turning to face me.
“Well, you got your secrets, and I have mine. Maybe one day we can swap a few.” I taunt him with a wink, but he just glares back at me as Luis walks over and hands me a cup of coffee.
“I wasn’t sure how you liked it. I saw the creamer in your fridge though, so I added a splash of that and a little bit of sugar. I hope it tastes okay.”
Taking a long sip I reply, “Holy shit, this is good. Thank you. Don’t tell Naomi, but not even she can get it right. She always adds too much sugar.” He lets out a sigh of relief as Damien walks into the kitchen. “By the way, thank y’all for breakfast. It’s good, I mean really good.” I add in between bites. The guys line up to load their plates, sitting down next to me to eat as well.
Once I’m done, I get up and put my dishes in the dishwasher before heading over to grab my leather jacket. Putting their dishes away, the guys follow me when I walk to the kitchen door. Walking up to me, they each kiss my head and walk out, one after the other. I am not used to all this touchy shit.
“We will see you tonight.” They say in unison. Shutting the door and entering the alarm code, I follow behind and walk to my bike.
“I’ll text you and let you know when we head that way. Might as well make a damn group chat at this point if all 3 of you are going to text me.” I laugh as I start the bike. Reyes gives me a sinister smirk as he gets in Damien’s car. I watch for a moment as they pull out of the driveway.
Putting my helmet on, I roll out after them and head to Orpheus.
