Chapter 15 #2
He laughed, somehow dipped his shoulder, and switched their positions, again, his weight pushing her into the mattress. He went to roll when she grabbed his shoulder, held firm.
“Not yet.” She tugged him closer. “I need more time.”
“You’ve got all night if you need it, though, you might want to be able to breathe at some point.”
“I can breathe just fine.”
Nodding, he stayed poised like that for a good ten minutes before she sighed and bit back a huff of disappointment when he finally eased free.
“Hold that thought for a moment.” He swung his legs off the bed, cursed. “Right, so is now a good time to tell you the condom broke or…”
She looked over at him, laughed. “Seriously?” Though, if she was being honest, between the mind-blowing orgasms and him igniting a part of her that had been waiting for the right moment to come alive, she hadn’t even realized he’d slipped one on. Hadn’t really cared, which seemed even crazier.
His head dipped forward. “I promise, I’m good. Haven’t had sex in…” He snorted. “Let’s just say I could have applied to the priesthood.”
“If that’s how you are when you consider yourself rusty…
” She wasn’t sure she’d survive once he’d had more practice.
“And I can top your priesthood with born again virgin status, so…” She scooted over, wrapped her arms around him.
“I have one of those implants. We should be fine — if you were worried about a pregnancy.”
He twisted, kissed her. “Not even a little. Shower? So, you can actually sleep after?”
“Oh, I’ll sleep, but I also won’t pass up any opportunity to run soap all over your body.” She went to her knees, nipped at his ear. “Who knows, maybe one of us will drop it.”
He pushed out a measured breath, stood, then gathered her in his arms, carrying her into the ensuite.
He placed her on her feet just long enough to turn on the taps and grab some supplies before ushering her under the showerhead — pulling her tight to his chest. Warm water sluiced over her skin, and she relaxed against him, content to let him bridge some of her weight.
Stream billowed through the air, fogging the glass as he palmed the soap — ran it across her hip.
She groaned, bit her bottom lip when her stomach flip-flopped. “Are you trying to make me melt into a puddle of lust?”
He grinned. “Is it working?”
“I wanted you, again, before we got into the shower, so…” She stilled his hand, took the soap. “My turn.”
He arched a brow but gave her enough room to run the soap across his body, leaving a trail of bubbles behind.
Rowan shook her head. “God, you’re incredible. I could touch you forever and still not get enough.” She paused with her hand wrapped around him. “Bet I could make you see stars, this time.”
He stopped her. “You already did. And I’m pretty sure I’ve only got one more round in me before I need a few hours to recover so...” He crowded her against the wall. “As much as I loved watching you on your knees, I need more.” He leaned in close. “I need you. All of you.”
“Then, what are you waiting for?”
“Do we hope the next one doesn’t break or…”
She drew her finger down his chest. “As long as I’m with you, I’m safe.”
He moved, wrapped her legs around his waist, bracing her weight against the wall. Her butt hit some ridiculously narrow shelf, barely wide enough to hold a fraction of her ass, but he made it work — had his mouth latched onto her shoulder, every inch inside her a second later.
Rowan pressed her elbows against his shoulders, gave him just enough room to move within their embrace, every thrust knocking her against the tiles.
She held on, heat scorching through her veins, her emotions mixing with the steam.
She’d never had a man want her as if his life depended on it.
As if she held the key to some hidden lock.
But Bodie…
The way her held her close, as if she might break, all while nearly pounding her through the wall, humbled her. And for once, she didn’t hold back. Didn’t rein everything in when her release hit — shattered her into a million pieces.
He followed, hips pumping, teeth scraping her skin. His heart slammed against hers as he used the wall to keep them upright, his breath panting in her ear.
The water started to cool when he finally raised his head. The shadows from that night in the woods had eased, something dangerously close to that future he’d talked about staring back at her.
Bodie sighed, kissed her so damn softly she thought she’d crack. Right there in the center of her chest. “You okay?”
Her chin quivered, every nerve raw, exposed. “Ask me, again, when I can feel my toes.”
“Toes are overrated. I’ll carry you back to bed.”
“Remember that when we’re running from a CIA wet squad.”
He laughed. “Damn, I’m crazy about you.”
Her breath caught. He was serious. From the easy tilt of his lips to the dopey way he smiled at her, he’d meant it.
She leaned in, kissed him. “Ditto. Now, are you going to hold me all night or what?”
“All night.”
It only took a couple minutes to get ready for bed. He offered her one of his t-shirts, then settled in with her head resting on his shoulder.
He snugged his arm around her back, drawing more lazy patterns on her hip. “Think you can sleep?”
She hummed, already drifting. “Just don’t let go.”
“Not a chance, sweetheart. Now, sleep. I’ve got your back.”
