Prezidence #3
I was back in the whip within the next five minutes with one destination.
I knew what it took to make her happy, I was just waiting on the opportunity.
A nigga didn’t want shit from her other than her being real to herself.
She wasn’t going to be stress or care-free if she didn’t allow herself to be comfortable in our relationship.
Aveena was so damn stubborn and got in the way of her own happiness at times but hopefully she allows us to flourish and thrive the way we’re supposed to.
I knew as a man it was going to be a task getting the bitches off a nigga trail, but it was what it was.
Plus, I never hid a damn thing about me.
You either accepted it or you didn’t and that went for everybody including princess.
By the time I made it to the crib, it was going on nine in the morning.
I tried creeping back in but could got whiff of food being cooked so I knew surprising her was out the window.
I followed the smell, and it led me to her bending over pulling biscuits out the oven. That was the sight I fell in love with.
“Good morning princess.”
“You left me here alone, Prezidence. I don’t like being left alone here. This house is too big for all that.” She had yet to turn around and address me properly.
“My apologies. I got something for you.” I stood with everything in tow.
That caused her to forget about what she was doing and give me her attention. When she saw everything, she ran toward me and threw her arms around my neck. Kisses were planted all over my face and I felt appreciated for once.
“What is all of this?”
“Just a lil’ something, something. It ain’t much but it’ll do for now,” I answered giving her several kisses on the lips.
“Thank youuuuuu!” she squealed.
“You trying to talk a lil more about us or what?”
“Yeah, I’m with that. We can lay some boundaries down and figure out why it took you so long to receive my love.”
“We already established that you were running from me in more than one area so let’s move pass that. Is the food done?”
“I was just about to fix your plate. Have a seat.”
I placed all her belongings on the counter and did like she asked. I knew all she wanted was me so the fact that she didn’t take a second look at what I gifted didn’t surprise me. She was never materialistic in the first place. She had it but she preferred the simple shit in life.
She plated the food and placed it in front of me with her joining shortly after. She did her thing in the kitchen. I normally would’ve had something delivered or ordered to the crib; she outdid herself.
“’Preciate this, princess.”
“You’re welcome. So, about us… I think we should just do us. And not us like individually but as one. We know each other best so there’s really nothing more to discuss or figure out.”
“We do know each other but we ain’t never did this shit before. You’ve had relationships and I just been fuckin’.”
“Respect. That is literally all you have to give me. Everything else will follow suit. Having a successful relationship doesn’t take much.
We not perfect so there will be times where we aren’t feeling each other and want to be left alone but be alone downstairs or in another room, not under someone else. ”
“That won’t even be an issue. I know where I’m at and who I’m with. We good.”
“Are we really doing this? I mean, this seems surreal in every way.”
“It’s happening. You a lil’ late to the party but you got here, and we locked the fuck in.
I wanted this for years, but I wasn’t going to rush you or pressure you into being with me.
You had to go through yo’ own shit in order to get here and realize whose been down for you.
A nigga ain’t got to walk around hurt no more. ”
“Oh whatever. I am happy that we’re here for real. I didn’t think I would be able to make it through another double date. I was tired of seeing you with different women.”
“Look at it this way, my hoe days are over,” I replied causing her to stop eating and mug the fuck out of me. “What?”
“Don’t play with me, Prez. You will see a different side of me.”
I threw my hands up in surrender. I wanted no problems with her. She was feisty and could really go toe to toe with a nigga.
“I’m just trying to make you happy princess. That’s the only reason I’m in yo’ life. Feel free to kick me out at any given moment.”
“I wouldn’t dare. I prayed for us and now that we’re one I refuse to allow petty shit to get in the way.
Like I said, neither one of us are perfect but we spent years hiding our true feelings and now that you know, I’m not going back in the dark.
Respect is the root for us and from there the love will flow and so will the loyalty. ”
“I want us and I’m praying my want transitions into a need. I dogged bitches but don’t be my karma. That’s all a nigga ask.”
“Don’t fuck me over and I won’t be.”
“Touché.” A kiss was shared, and I had a smile that went from ear to ear. “To new beginnings?” I asked holding up a glass of orange juice.
“Nah to us finally becoming one.”
