Chapter 5 #3

I chuckled and flipped him off before I got in the car.

I was tired as fuck and ready to go climb in bed, but it damn sure wouldn’t be my bed.

Regancy was probably mad at me right then, but I didn’t give a fuck, because it was her fucking fault that I wanted to lay between her legs.

When I got back to the condos, I went to her floor and used my new key to get in.

Just like I expected, the lights were all out, and I could hear lil’ mama’s cartoons as I walked to the back, past her room, to get to Regancy’s.

Once I slipped into her room, I turned the light on and started getting undressed as if it were my place and not hers.

From what I heard, she was in the shower.

When I got comfortable, I took a seat on her bed and buried my head in my hands.

The sound of the door opening made me look up right when she damn near jumped out of her skin.

“What are you doing here, Savior?” Her voice did nothing to mask her irritation with me.

“I’m tired, and I don’t feel like going back and forth with you.” I was serious as I looked up at her, matching the annoyed expression in her face.

“I definitely didn’t expect you to go back and forth with me. If anything, I would like for you to go to your place of residence.”

“You’on mean that, but we do need to talk about you kicking it with old boy in here. What the fuck was you thinking?” I asked.

“Excuse me? Who are you supposed to be that you come in my house tossing around audacity?” I could tell she was pissed because her usually leveled voice was a few octaves higher, and she was moving her head like a fucking bobblehead.

“Lower yo’ fucking tone. Kale is sleep.”

“Go home, Savior. I don’t wanna go back and forth with you either.” She tried to walk past me to the other side of her bed, but I grabbed her hand and pulled her back to me.

“You call yo’self being serious with this nigga?” I questioned.

“Does it matter?”

“Probably not. I just wanted to know if you’d be that female on the news crying and offering a reward when his ass goes missing.” I gave her a menacing stare as I waited for her response. She was too busy attempting to process my words.

“Why would he come up missing, Savior?”

“Because he was too fucking close to you, and you allowed that shit.” I twisted my face up at the thought of that nigga touching her. She had me fucked up.

Out of nowhere, she laughed and snatched her hand back from me.

“You’re a piece of fucking work, you know that?

” She walked over and grabbed the bottle of body oil from her dresser before taking a seat on her bed.

She didn’t say another word. Instead, she commenced to moisturizing her body.

It wasn’t long before she was holding the oil up for me to grab.

“Since you’re here, can you at least get my back? ”

I grabbed the aged bottle and put some of the oil in my hands, then I set it on the floor. I pressed my hands against her back before rubbing in a circular motion. I recognized the sweet scent from the last time.

“Why do you care about who I deal with, especially when you enjoy the company of so many others?” She craned her neck forward, obviously enjoying the feel of my hands against her back.

I didn’t have a response for her, because I didn’t know. With Regancy, I found myself jealous of shit that was innocent. I shook my head at the thought. I was literally seconds from having that nigga murked on her sofa just because he was in there.

“I mean, I haven’t tripped the many times you brought that chick in my business. It’s unfair, don’t you think?”

“Life isn’t fair.” I leaned forward and pressed my lips against her shoulder.

She chuckled before hopping up from my embrace. “You’re not gonna dictate who I see, especially when—”

“Says who, Regancy?” I looked up at her, waiting for her to say some smart shit.

“Me. You have a plethora of women, open to whatever you’re into, so I’ll just say what you won’t. This was fun, but we’re just not looking for the same things. No hard feelings.” She came out of her closet with a long tee shirt on and looked at me.

“Nope.” I looked directly at her. She wanted consistency, and I couldn’t promise her that, because I didn’t want to acknowledge the fact that she had me bending.

I didn’t wanna admit that she already had me acting out of character and didn’t even know it.

That was where I got lost, where a nigga felt like he was being swallowed whole, because I couldn’t voice the very words that would put this fake ass argument to bed and secure her.

“What do you mean no?” she asked with a face filled with confusion.

“I told you that I didn’t wanna go back and forth with you. A nigga is tired, Regancy.” Coward ass.

She gave me the most-hateful stare before she smacked her lips.

She didn’t speak another word. Instead, she turned the light off and climbed into bed.

For the rest of the night, I beat myself up because I had fucked up and ended up in the very space that I said I never would, and the things holding me back from basking in that space were ego, denial, and ignorance.

I wanted her, and I knew she wanted me, but the threatening change brought out the inner coward that I never knew existed.

Maybe I can just have every nigga she comes in contact with killed.

That way, I’d get what I wanted with much less opposition.

“So if I knock her ass off, then I wouldn’t be dealing with all of this shit.” I glanced over at Taurus after I downed the glass of brown liquor like it was water. She had me drinking at the top of the morning. My head was all fucked up at that point.

“Nigga, it ain’t even eleven in the morning on a fucking Sunday, and this is what you choose to do?

You wanna plot on old girl because you acting like a bitch.

” He chuckled as he set the eggs down in front of me.

I didn’t feel like being around people. Plus the breakfast joint that I frequented didn’t have what I needed in terms of drinks.

So I ended up there at the wannabe comedian’s crib.

I shook my head because my security that I forced to stay with her had just informed me that she was sitting down to lunch with the same nigga who I almost killed three days ago.

Regancy was playing with fire, and it was up to me to extinguish it or come with my own damn fire.

She called herself in her feelings, so she had been avoiding me the last few days, and it pissed me off to the fullest. How fucking dare she not be available to me? “This shit ain’t right,” I muttered.

He laughed. “You don’t like for people to do what you do to them back to you. So now you’re gonna sit your ass right here and mug the fucking air.”

“She doesn’t value her fucking life.”

He cracked up laughing. That was all this nigga had been doing since I walked in there, laughing like I was cracking jokes, when, in actuality, I was in my fucking feelings and wanted to murder the very fucking woman who put me there.

“You better go get your girl, man. You’ll look up, and she’s carrying that nigga’s seed because he said the right thing an—” Before he could finish his sentence, I was out of the front door.

I hopped in my car, neglecting to put my seat belt on and pulled out of his driveway.

I knew exactly where she was because Beck, one of my security guards, was actually good at his job.

I pulled up about twenty minutes later and double-parked.

I didn’t give a shit, because I wouldn’t be there for long.

I walked into the restaurant and looked around before I spotted her fine, stupid ass.

She was walking toward the washroom, but she left Kale at the table with old boy.

How could she look good when all I wanted to do was take her head off her shoulders?

I approached the table just as Kale squealed my name.

“Mr. Savior.” She smiled and hopped down, running to hug my legs.

“Wassup, baby girl? You have a good time?” I asked.

She nodded her head and looked up at me, then back at old boy. He looked confused, but I was about to clear some shit up for him and Regancy. “Can you do me a favor and go to the car with my friend?” I nodded toward Beck who was now standing at my side.

She nodded her head and happily went with Beck.

“Um, who are y—”

“Savior, what are you doing here?” Regancy was standing behind me. “Where is my daughter?” She was looking around.

“She’s with Beck, waiting on us, but we have some shit we need to discuss right quick.”

I didn’t miss the annoyance on Regancy’s face as she put her hand to her hip and looked at me, then ole boy, who was sitting there looking confused.

“You didn’t know who this man was, yet you allowed my child to go with someone who was with him?

” Then she looked at me. “Then you… how dare you intrude on my life when you have one of your own? What type of shit is this?” She was pissed.

“Cool the fuck out and hear me when I say this shit.”

She looked at me pissed off, but she didn’t give me any more lip.

I looked from her to ole boy before I began to speak. “You willing to die over mine?”

“Savior, are you—”

“Let the man speak, baby.” I cut my eyes from him to her.

He looked from me to her.

“Don’t look at her. Keep ya eyes on me. Lemme ask you again. Are you willing to die over mine? Because if so, we can get that handled right now.”

Ole boy didn’t respond. He just looked at me like he was mute or some shit.

“Baby, you dating a deaf nigga?” I looked down at her.

Before she could respond, he finally spoke. “I wasn’t aware that a woman was property, let alone that woman.” He nudged his head in Regancy’s direction. “A woman should be given the opportunity to choose what and or who she wants because ul—”

“Fuck all of that. This ain’t no fucking game of it.

This right here is mine, and she knows it, and now you do too.

So if you knowing and keep fucking around with her, then you’re endangering yourself, my man.

” Then I put all my attention on her. “Regancy, I’ma give you about two minutes to tell yo’ friend bye.

I’ll be in the car.” I didn’t have shit else to say, because I already felt like I’d said too much.

By the time she brought her ass to the car, I was good and pissed off. Just because I gave her boneheaded ass two minutes didn’t mean she had to take all one hundred twenty fucking seconds of it.

Once Regancy settled into the car, I instructed Beck to pull off before I focused all of my attention on Kale. “What do you wanna eat for dinner, Baby K?”

“Um… cheeseburgers.” She smiled and looked up at me.

I nodded. “You heard that Beck and get Reg a chicken Caesar salad with no chicken and extra sunflower seeds on the side. We’re going to the boat for the night.”

“What boat?” Kale asked.

“My boat. You know how to swim?” I asked her. I was only talking to lil’ mama since her mama had an attitude.

“Yes. Mommy made me take lessons.” She smiled, excited. “You hear that, Mama?”

“Yeah. I hear it, baby.” She forced a smile for Kale but mugged me on the side.

Once we reached the pier, the boat was docked right where it normally was when I wanted to take it out for a night.

I had already planned to take it out so I could sit under the stars and clear my mind like always, but her boneheaded ass had to test me.

So, I had to teach her how to deal with me because I wasn’t the nigga to play with.

Though everything from that point on was unchartered waters, I guess I somewhat knew what I was doing.
