Chapter 11
REINA
My lord, I wanted to gag! But moving into a lover girl era looked good on me. My skin was glowing more than usual, I smiled more, and I hadn’t threatened to shoot or pistol whip anybody in a while.
I think my Nana would be proud.
“Alright bitches. How do you tell a nigga you want some dick?” I blurted out. Cherrice, Joyy, and Rae popped their heads up and smirked at the same time.
“And before you hoes start, I am not in the mood to be clowned.”
“Bitch, you ain’t no virgin. You know how to ask for dick. How did you ask for it before?” Cherrice was the first to ask. I rolled my eyes at her.
“True, I am not a virgin, but Vasiah is different. He be wanting me to use my words and shit,” I groaned, falling back into the couch cushions.
I was over for our Legos and Puzzles night, some shit the twins came up with.
I couldn’t focus long enough on the puzzle, so I started building a beauty shop Lego set while the rest of them worked on a 500-piece puzzle.
“I can’t just say, ‘come put that dick in my stomach?’ That’s unladylike?
” They all started laughing at me, but I was genuinely asking.
I wasn’t one to use flowery language or throw hints.
I’ve always been pretty straightforward, but my tongue got tied whenever I thought of that man.
I wanted to say it in a way that made him wanna leave work early and put it on me.
“You tried sending nudes yet?” Joyy asked.
“You can make it real artsy like, too. Don’t show yo face.
Put the phone up on your tripod and get the self-timer remote.
Bend over and spread yo ass cheeks where only yo pussy lips are showing and record yourself doing kegels.
Then make the video black and white and send it via invisible ink.
He should get the picture then,” she finished with a wink.
Joyy was our in-house freak hoe, and she always had a crazy idea, but…they worked. Rae jumped up from the couch and looked for a sticky note. “Somebody gotta write this shit down!”
“I say combine J’s nude idea and then make a menu that has his body and your body on the menu. I did that once for me and –” Rae started, but I plugged my ears, not trying to hear what this harlot was doing to my brother. Happy for them both, but please. This is about me now.
“You hoes ain’t no help!” I griped, sinking further into the couch cushions.
“Bitch, that was a phenomenal idea. Imma have to steal that for myself,” Cherrice gave her sister a pound as they chuckled.
I admit that the idea would be getting put to use, but how early was too early to let my freak flag fly?
Usually, I’d get my nut and go on about my business.
Vasiah made me want to take things slower and make every moment between us memorable.
He was showing himself to be someone that I didn’t mind yapping to, and he never thought my ideas were too far-fetched.
I sighed. I think I’m in love.
“Okay… another question for you hot pussy hoes. How do you know you've found your soulmate?” Silence fell over the room as I watched each of them intently think about it.
Rae spoke up first. “I feel like it’s something that kinda hits you outta nowhere.
At first, I couldn’t stand your brother.
He was fuckin’ rude, and he challenged the fuck outta me.
Yet, he was always present and protective.
I wasn’t used to that, and y’all know it took us a minute to get on the same footing, but now there’s no doubt in my mind that he was made for me.
Like, he just gets me…never tried to change me…
and I needed that. So maybe it’ll be something small between you and Nerd Boy.
” She snickered at the nickname they were all starting to call him. “But you’ll know when it hits you.”
“I agree. Like, I think we get multiple soulmates and not just in the romantic sense. Joyy is my soulmate. You hoes are my soulmates. Linx and Domo are my soul mates. Ya’ll just get me, and even though every single last one of y’all is crazy as hell,” Cherrice emphasized.
“I couldn’t imagine doing life without y’all. ”
“Stop trynna cut onions!” Joyy threw a pillow at her, and we all laughed. Then she added her two cents to the conversation.
“I think you know someone is your soul mate when even your differences mesh well together. You and Nerd Boy are opposites, yet the way y’all light up about each other when your names are mentioned is so undeniably cute, G!
Plus, you both fully accept one another, too, and I think that’s so rare these days.
I know when people look at you, Reina, they think you need some boss ass, hood ass nigga –”
“Don’t forget paid!” I coughed.
“Anyway… while there’s nothing wrong with those types, it’s also okay to venture out from what we’re used to.
Your soulmate is a nerdy, college-educated Black man who reads Manga, watches anime, and is super laid-back and chill.
He is already so intentional with you and will do anything to make you smile.
You’ve said it yourself how much of a good listener he is and how calm you feel around him… sounds like a soulmate to me.”
My eyes watered because Vasiah was all those things for me.
Calm to my chaos.
Reserved to my impulsiveness.
Peaceful to my violent.
My soulmate. I beamed at the thought. What beautiful and scary territory to be in these days.
