THE DARK ALPHA

The howl echoed across the mountains.

It was deeper than any wolf’s call.

Darker.

Filled with a terrifying power that made every werewolf in the clearing freeze.

Rowan’s fur stood on end instantly.

“…I hate that sound.”

Lucian gripped his sword tighter.

The massive black wolf stood fully above the battlefield now.

Its body was enormous—almost the size of the dragon. Thick black fur covered its massive frame, and its crimson eyes glowed like burning coals.

The air around it felt heavy.

Corrupted.

Even the monsters in the forest backed away from it.

The Blood Emperor stood proudly beside the summoning circle.

“Behold.”

“My Dark Alpha.”

The creature stepped forward slowly.

Each step shook the ground beneath its claws.

Lucian whispered,

“That’s not a natural wolf.”

Elias nodded grimly.

“It’s been twisted by dark magic.”

Rowan growled under his breath.

“So basically a nightmare wolf.”

The dragon spread its wings again.

It let out a loud roar, clearly challenging the new creature.

The Dark Alpha turned its head toward the dragon.

For a moment—

The two massive creatures stared at each other.

Ancient predator against ancient monster.

Then the Dark Alpha snarled.

A low, dangerous sound that made the air vibrate.

The dragon roared back.

The Blood Emperor chuckled.

“Yes.”

“Fight.”

But the Dark Alpha didn’t attack the dragon.

Instead—

Its glowing red eyes shifted again.

Toward Aria.

Lucian noticed immediately.

“…Why does everything want her?”

The Primordial energy inside Aria stirred again.

But this time—

It felt different.

Uneasy.

The Dark Alpha stepped forward again.

Slow.

Heavy.

Like it was drawn to her.

The Alpha King moved instantly.

He stepped in front of Aria.

Golden energy exploded around him.

“You will not touch her.”

The Dark Alpha stopped.

Its crimson eyes focused on the King now.

Rowan whispered nervously,

“…This might get ugly.”

The giant wolf lowered its head slightly.

Studying him.

Then it growled.

The sound alone shook the dirt beneath their feet.

Lucian’s voice turned serious.

“That thing is stronger than the earlier beast.”

Elias added quietly,

“Much stronger.”

The Blood Emperor crossed his arms proudly.

“Of course it is.”

“That creature carries the strength of dozens of fallen Alphas.”

Lucian frowned.

“You fused them together.”

The Blood Emperor smiled.

“Exactly.”

The Dark Alpha suddenly lunged.

Its massive body shot forward with shocking speed.

The Alpha King reacted instantly.

Golden energy burst around his fist as he slammed it forward.

The two forces collided with a thunderous impact.

The shockwave knocked nearby warriors off their feet.

Rowan rolled across the ground.

“Yep!”

“Definitely ugly!”

The King slid backward several feet from the impact.

His golden aura flickered slightly.

The Dark Alpha barely moved.

Lucian’s eyes widened.

“…It pushed him back.”

The dragon roared again.

This time it launched itself forward.

Its massive claws slammed into the Dark Alpha’s side.

The two enormous creatures crashed into the forest, tearing through trees as they fought.

The battlefield shook from their struggle.

Rowan stared at them in disbelief.

“Now we’ve got a dragon fighting a demon wolf.”

Lucian rubbed his temple briefly.

“This day just keeps getting worse.”

Aria stepped forward slowly.

Her silver power flickered around her again.

The Primordial voice whispered inside her mind.

That creature…

It carries broken blood.

Aria’s eyes narrowed.

She could feel it now.

The corrupted wolf wasn’t just powerful.

It was suffering.

The dragon slammed the Dark Alpha into the ground again.

But the giant wolf rose quickly.

Its jaws snapped toward the dragon’s neck.

The Blood Emperor watched with excitement.

“Perfect.”

But then—

The Dark Alpha suddenly stopped fighting.

Both creatures froze.

The dragon stepped back slightly.

Confused.

The Dark Alpha slowly turned again.

Its glowing red eyes locked onto Aria once more.

Lucian sighed.

“…Of course.”

The giant wolf began walking toward her again.

Ignoring everything else.

Ignoring the dragon.

Ignoring the warriors.

The Alpha King stepped forward again, blocking its path.

But the Dark Alpha didn’t attack this time.

It simply stared at Aria.

Then—

It spoke.

A deep, broken voice echoed from the creature’s throat.

“…Primordial…”
