5. House Tour
Chapter five
House Tour
Walking through the door, I was greeted by a well-lighted foyer, with a coat rack hanging an assortment of jackets on one side, the other being occupied with a table that held a large ceramic bowl in the center. Keys were seen inside, along with a wallet and other personal belongings. Derek and Sarah were there, Derek keeping a healthy distance away, his face unreadable. Sarah looked like she wanted to be anywhere else at the moment. I was inclined to agree with her.
Sarah clapped her hands together, dispelling the somewhat tense atmosphere, at least for the moment. “So! Derek, how about giving us a tour? I would love to see the rest of the house. And I’m legally required to see where Damon will be staying,” she added awkwardly.
“Yeah, sure. Let me just put this away,” he said, indicating the bottle of wine Sarah had brought with her. As soon as he left, moving deeper into the house, she turned to me, lowering her voice to a whisper. “Let’s just both agree that you screwed up. Any idea how you’re gonna fix it?”
“Well, I was just gonna apologize and explain why I did what I did.”
“No. Hard pass. An apology followed quickly with any sort of justification never works. What else you got?”
“Not much else...” I honestly didn’t know what else I could do at this point.
“Wrong. You got my present, remember?” I tried to protest that I would not be using that, but she shut me down instantly. “C’mon, getting outside your comfort zone is good for you. You’re too uptight. And you’re a bit of a prude.”
“I am not!”
Derek chose the perfect opportunity to walk back in and see us huddled together. “Everything okay?”
“I was just telling Damon he should share with you the gift I got him. Something tells me you’re gonna love it.” His eyes darted to the bag I held in my hand, and I hid it behind my back immediately. I felt my face grow hot, unable to look anywhere but the floor.
“Well, I hope to see it later. We can start the tour downstairs I guess, and work our way around?”
“Sounds good. Lead the way.” He nodded, our eyes meeting briefly before turning and walking away.
“Listen, I’m gonna act as a buffer for now, but you need to try and talk to him. Maybe not apologize just yet, but try and make small talk. You got this.” And with that, she followed Derek, leaving me no choice but to follow suit.
Derek led us to the living room, a semi-formal space mostly used for guests. It looked like most typical living rooms, with a couple of chairs and a couch, end tables with lamps for lighting, and a generic painting suspended above the couch. The next two rooms were the dining room and the patio, respectively.
The dining room was artfully put together, with the dining table acting as the core piece and the others picked out accordingly. The table, which was large enough to easily seat eight, was colored a rich mahogany, while the cabinet was white. Two expansive glass doors led out to a beautiful patio that overlooked the Hudson River.
“Oh my god! I would totally kill for this view. ” Sarah turned to me. “What do you think, Damon?”
“It’s nice.” She glared daggers at me and I rushed to elaborate. “The river is, I mean. Not to say that the house isn’t nice too! It’s very...”
“ Nice?“ Derek asked. I could only nod, feeling heat creep up my face. The corner of Derek’s mouth twitched upwards before he left, heading back inside. Sarah could only shake her head and look at me with pity in her eyes. “Smooth.”
“Shut up.”
Unlike the rest of the house, the kitchen and the family room had an open floor design. I found that I liked the choice to keep it open, creating the illusion of more space. The kitchen, like the dining room, had a sort of rustic look, with the cabinets painted in a combination of white and light brown. The living room sported two reclining couches, a light cream color, with an impressive entertainment center that would garner a lot of attention from the younger Omegas back at the OPS.
“That’s about it for the main floor, well, besides the master bedroom. I was hoping to do a romantic reveal to Damon later...” His cheeks became a rosy pink, and I didn’t need any prompting from Sarah to know that now would be a good time to say something.
“That’s sweet of you. I can’t wait to see it.” I found that it was true. I wanted to see what was in store for me. But, as the old saying goes, ‘Good things come to those who wait.’
“Good, I’m glad. For the rest of the tour, would you two like to see the basement first or the upstairs? Fair warning, besides my office, there’s not much up there besides empty rooms.”
“I dunno, is it dank and musty?”
‘No, it’s completely finished. In fact, it’s my favorite part of the house.”
“Basement it is, then.” We then all head down to the basement, and we instantly see why it was his favorite in the house.
“Oh, a man cave. My husband would definitely love this. “ I couldn’t agree more with her. It was almost the epitome of what the term “man cave” conjured up. It had everything from a complete bar with a wall of liquor displayed behind it to a pool table and, finally, a home theatre system replete with theatre seating and a projector. Derek even had a small popcorn machine in the corner.
“Wow,” I said, completely at a loss for words for how incredible the setup is.
‘Wow is right, do you mind if I take a couple of pictures to show my husband? He is going to be so jealous.”
“Sure, go ahead. I usually have my buddies over to watch whatever game is on, but decided it was best to cancel till we get settled in.” I instantly felt bad for him giving up things just to accommodate me.
“I don’t mind if you invite them over. I would love to meet them.”
“Are you sure? You can meet them some other time, there’s no rush.” No, I wasn’t sure.
“Yes, I’m sure. I’ll be fine.” It seemed I looked convincing enough, because he pulled out his phone and sent out a message. Within seconds his phone received a flood of notification dings.
“Well, you’ve just made five grown men very happy. Probably shouldn’t tell my family that they weren’t the first to meet you, though.
“Yeah, that’d probably be best,” Sarah said, smiling into her phone. She was probably talking to her husband about the pictures she sent. “Well, I think I’ve seen plenty. It’s safe to say, Derek, that you are more than capable of providing for your partner. Would love to stay and see more, but I have a man-child at home to deal with.” We walked her back to her car and said our goodbyes. I couldn’t let her leave without giving her a hug, struggling to let go after a minute. Apparently, she understood, because she just rubbed my back, letting me hold her for as long as I needed.
Sarah was truly the last shred of the life I left behind, sheltered as it was. I was in a new area, about to live in a new house with a veritable stranger. I felt scared and a little disoriented. I started to shake, unable to control myself. She didn’t care one bit, her green eyes full of compassion and sympathy. She stood there and held me until I started to get a hold of myself. “Don’t worry, you’ll see me again. I know you’re scared, but trust me when I say that you’re in good hands.”
“Okay.” I released my death grip and she went to her car, but not before leaving us with parting words. “On behalf of the OPS, I would like to congratulate you two on your match. May you cherish each other for the years to come. Having said that; Derek, if you harm him in any way, I will come back here and Fuck. You. Up.”
After she had said her piece, she got in her car and left, leaving Derek and I standing there speechless in the driveway.
“I’m sorry about her, she didn’t mean it.” Knowing Sarah, she probably did.
“No, it’s ok, I get it. She’s just looking out for a friend.” He walked over to me, reaching out his hand but stopped midway, before putting it back to his side. “We should probably get inside. It can get cold at night since we’re so close to the water.
I follow him inside, Derek picking up some of the suitcases. “I guess it’s time for the big reveal. Ready to see where all the action happens?” I nod, and so we head down the hallway turning right instead of left where the kitchen and living room are located. Entering a different, wider hallway, I see all kinds of pictures hanging on the walls. Looking closely, most are of Derek with his family, or him posing in front of foreign monuments, a few showing him surrounded by what must be his friends. I tried not to be envious. It didn’t really work out.
At the end of the hall were what seemed to be sliding barn doors. Derek sat the luggage down and turned to me. “Do you mind waiting here while I finish setting up?
“Sure. I’ll just wait here then.” He smiles before opening the doors, barely wide enough for him to squeeze through, and then quickly closes them again. I walk up to the door, pressing my ear against the wood. I could hear a faint rustling sound and what seemed like music started playing. What was he doing in there?
“Okay, are you ready?” he called from the other side of the door. When I said yes, he made me close my eyes, which I did. A moment later, I heard the doors open, and I felt him walk behind me, covering my eyes with his hands. “I wasn’t gonna peak, you know.”
“I’d rather not take any chances. Just walk straight until you feel like you’re standing on the carpet. I already moved the suitcases outta the way.” I do as instructed, walking forward until I feel the material shift beneath my feet. Derek presses his chest against my back, prodding me forward a little bit more, then removes his hands. “Ok... open your eyes.”
I open my eyes, and a part of my heart instantly melts at what he’s done. Candles are strewn about, while he scattered rose petals leading to the queen-sized bed, where even more petals are used to create the shape of a heart. Somewhere in the room, soft violin music played. Above the bed was a big ‘Welcome Home!’ poster. Everything created a really romantic ambiance.
“My friends told me it’s a little overkill, but I wanted to make sure you felt welcome when you arrived.”
“I love it, I really do. It shows me another side of you that I haven’t before, but how did you know I would agree to the match?”
“I didn’t. I just really hoped you would say yes. Had you said no, coming home to this would’ve been very depressing.“ When he reached out a hand hesitantly, I had no problems taking it. The gentle smile that I had gotten used to seeing seemed to bloom, replacing the much more sober look he had for most of the tour.
“I also just want to apologize for earlier. When I pulled you in and gave you a kiss? I was excited and wanted people to know that you were mine, and I didn’t take into account that we’re still practically strangers. I’ll move at any pace you want me to; you just gotta tell me, and I’ll do it.” He steps closer, his eyes filled with so much love and adoration for me. I could easily fall in love with this man, and I wanted him to know that.
“I’m sorry, too. I’ve been told I can be a bit... resistant to change, but I’ll try and be better. I’ve been wanting this for so long, it feels like I’ve been waiting for you to come into my life. I just need to take things slow. I’m ready here,” I point to my heart, “but not here, you know what I mean?”
“Of course. Like I said before, you set the pace.” He then catches his lip between his teeth, as if worried about something. Before I get a chance to ask what he’s thinking about, he speaks.
“Can I kiss you?” I nod. My heart races, this being my first kiss and all, so I close my eyes and tilt my head up, waiting. A small voice in the back of my head decided to chime in with incessant worries. What if I’m a bad kisser? and what if he doesn’t like kissing you in the end? That voice goes silent as he cups my chin gently and kisses me.
The kiss is gentle at first, almost hesitant even, but then it deepens, his hand moving to the back of my head while the other settles on my lower back and presses me closer to him. It was an entirely new experience, and one I was growing to live very quickly. Derek ends the kiss there, but only for a moment. He grabbed me from below, cupping my thighs, and carried me over the bed before laying me down gently.
He then goes back to kissing, only this time it’s different, rough, more primal . He kisses me like today is his last day, and I let him, fully surrendering myself to the moment. He breaks away agin, removing his shirt, a few buttons popping away in his haste. Once it’s finally off, revealing a hairy barrel chest, he starts to unbutton his pants. That’s when my brain decides now would be a good time to butt in.
“Wait!” He freezes, pants undone, and in the process of pulling them down.
“What’s wrong? Am I moving too fast?”
“A little,” I hedge. “I’ve never done any of this before. It’s my first time. I’m sorry, but I don’t think I’m ready yet.” Both my cock and my wet hole would disagree, but I digress.
“Oh, okay. We’ll just take our time then. I’m just gonna shower then...” He gives me a quick kiss before disappearing behind the door.
As he’s taking a shower, I spend the time trying and failing miserably to control my raging hormones. I finally get myself under control when he walks out of the bathroom with nothing but a towel covering himself. All that progress, gone, just like that.
“I think I’ll take a shower too.” I race to the bathroom before he could say anything, closing the door quickly.
A quick wash and a few pumps later, I’m more or less in the right state of mind to realize I didn’t bring a towel. Or underwear. Or anything, really. I did a quick search and found some blankets that were in the huge walk-in closet that was connected to the bathroom itself. I was about to wrap myself up and brave the outside when there was a knock on a door. It opens and my heart plummets, but thankfully, it stops after a couple of inches.
“Damon? You didn’t bring anything in with you, so I brought you a towel and an old shirt of mine.” His hand emerges, holding up the items he mentions. Thank God one of us was thinking.
“Thank you. I’ll be out in a minute.”
“Don’t worry, take your time.”
I come out of the bathroom feeling refreshed, only to find Derek lying on the bed wearing nothing but boxer briefs. I couldn’t help but take a moment to just appreciate him, his wide shoulders and thick chest covered in hair. My eyes traveled lower, but I closed them before they got below the waist, lest I wanted another erection and had to go take care of it.
“I hope this is okay. I usually sleep naked ’cause I get hot at night, but figured you would freak out,” he said with a chuckle. He was teasing me, but I let him. He’s not wrong.
“It’s fine. And thanks again for the shirt, by the way.” The shirt he gave me was a little bit large on me, falling down to my upper thigh and just barely covering my fun zones. I quickly walked over to the suitcases, Derek having brought them inside, and threw open the covers, desperately trying to find a pair of underwear.
I feel an itch at the back of my neck, like I’m being watched. I surreptitiously look over my shoulder, finding Derek staring at me with a very noticeable bulge down below. He doesn’t seem to care that I caught him staring. In fact, he puts his arms behind his head, making his muscles shift, a cocky grin starting to creep up on his face.
“Don’t mind me, just enjoying the view. One could even say you’re doing the same,” he said with a roguish wink. I snap my head back to the matter at hand before my eyes travel to the gift bag containing Sarah’s present. I feel myself grin as an idea starts to form in my mind. “Oh, that reminds me, I haven’t showed you what Sarah got for me.”
“Oh yeah, I was wondering what it was, but I forgot to look...” His words die off as I pull out the gift. A white jockstrap.
