Chapter 10 #2

That would explain why he made no advances on her and why they were still unwed.

It terrified her to ask, for fear of upsetting the routine they fell into.

She was even more worried about the answer he would give.

She pressed her eyes tight shut and forced the thoughts out of her head, but it was like trying to scoop a lake dry with a small cup.

She couldn’t hold back the sudden onslaught of fear and insecurity.

By the time they reached the loch she was sure she was all wrong for him.

He helped her off the mighty steed and sat with her on a blanket, spreading a good amount of food out between them.

He handed her a flask, and she graciously accepted.

It was a fine whiskey, the likes of which she never tried, smoky and smooth with a hint of spiciness that rounded off on the back of her mouth.

“Michty me, that’s a good whiskey.”

He looked pleased at her appreciation. “’Tis one of my favorite batches so far. Ah like to drink it when we have something to celebrate.”

“What do ye have to celebrate?”

Baile took another sip and set his cup down. He leaned in to Mazey and took her hand in his.

“Ah was hoping ye would marry me this week. Malmuira will return tomorrow with Oidche to visit the clan. Now she’s back, ah wanted to wed ye with her present.” His blue eyes sparkled with love and excitement.

Relief washed over her. “Ye mean ye still want me?”

“Ah still want ye.” He tucked a stray hair behind her ear, a gesture that always melted her heart. “Why would ye ever think otherwise?”

Her cheeks felt like they were on fire and she glanced straight down at the ground. “Well, ye wanted no physical intimacy and ye hadn’t mentioned wedding me since ah had my son, so ah didn’t know if yer feelings changed.”

Baile moved in even closer and placed his large hands on the small of her back.

She felt tingles spread from his hands down to other places.

He said every word with emphasis. “How ah feel about ye will never change, Mazey. Ah have a hard time keeping my hands off ye. Ah thought if ah gave in to how ah was feeling, even a little, ah wouldn’t be able to stop myself.

Ah didn’t want to put you in a compromising position, like another pregnancy. Ah love ye, always will.”

His lips gently pressed against hers and as the kiss deepened, her heart raced—beating hooves against the inside of her chest. A burning desire passed down her torso and between her legs.

Baile pulled her over onto his lap, running his tongue down her neck and kissing just above her collarbone.

She put one leg on each side of his hips as she sat on his lap, straddling him while he continued to caress her lips, ears and neck.

She felt the hard planes of his body pressed up against hers as she settled down on his lap, rocking.

He groaned at the movement and used both hands to grab her hips, pushing her down onto his hard erection. An unintentional moan escaped her. A warmth spread through her belly and a wonderful pleasure coursed between her legs.

“Ah’ve wanted ye for so long,” Baile growled. He untied her bodice and pulled the top of her dress down to her hips. She hadn’t worn a corset, not needing the additional cinching. Her breasts were firm in the cold night air.

Baile’s hooded eyes looked her up and down. “Ye’re so beautiful.” Mazey bounced lightly against his hips and he sucked in a breath, thrusting his hips up towards her as she did. He leaned forward and took the rosy bud in his mouth, pulling and teasing with his lips.

She gasped. “Ah want ye,” she cried. The sensations took over her mind.

She never felt such intense pleasure in her life and it seemed to build as before.

Baile lifted her with an ease that made her feel small and laid her back on the rough fabric.

He pulled the dress down over her hips, leaving her nude body exposed.

For a moment, he just stared down at her, his gaze sweeping from head to toe, lingering in particular areas that thrilled her anew.

He thrust two of his fingers inside of her.

She cried out, which spurred him on further.

He removed his kilt, the last bit of clothing.

She wanted him so bad. He wanted her just as bad.

She turned around on her hands and knees, how Hume always liked her to be.

He came up behind her and put his arm around her waist. “What’re ye doing, lass?” Baile asked her quietly in her ear.

Am I doing it wrong? “Isn’t this how ye like it?”

“Aye, ah do, but not for our first time, love. Ah want to see ye when ye climax.”

“Ah’ve only done it this way.”

A fire burned in his eyes. “Lass, ye’re gonna like this then.”

He trailed his tongue down her neck, then each breast. He took the peaks of her breasts into his mouth and ran his tongue over each one, nibbling gently. Mazey let out a contented, “Mmm...”

Then working his way down her belly, each spot he licked and kissed more sensitive than the last. He reached her thighs.

He grabbed both of her legs and tilted her hips up off the ground.

His lips found their way between her legs and his tongue worked magic on Mazey’s body.

She cried out. Just before she thought her body couldn’t handle the anymore, he thrust his hard shaft into her.

He was so big. Her body exploded. Wave after wave of pleasure crested.

She screamed his name into the darkness.

Baile groaned. She felt the force of his pleasure inside her.

His body tensed and then relaxed. The pleasure dissipated and it left her with a satiated exhaustion.

“Mazey, ah love ye.” Baile whispered in her ear.

“Ah love ye, too,” she replied. And she meant it. With every fiber of her being.

She couldn’t help the joy that spread through her when he spoke. “Ah’ve never felt that way before.”

Baile snorted and grimaced. “Don’t worry, love. Ah’ve got a lifetime to make up for it.”

“Ah can’t believe this is real. Ah never thought ah’d feel so happy.” She would always have fear and pain from the past, but Baile chased away most of those feelings.

“Ah never thought ah’d feel this way again.” He traced his finger down her jawline and pressed a kiss to her lips. “Ah haven’t been with anyone else since my wife died. Ah tried, but there wasn’t anyone that caught my eye.”

Inside she found herself torn between disbelief and shock. “Ye haven’t had sex since yer wife died? It’s been five years, Baile.”

“Aye, but ah never wanted to wrong any woman. Ah wasn’t interested in anyone else. Not till ye came along.”

Baile laid on his back and pulled Mazey against him. She rested her head on his chest and they covered themselves with another blanket from the nearby bag. They both fell asleep for a few hours while they cuddled close together.
