Chapter 10

Everything is starting to fall into place. She doesn’t know it yet but she will. I need her to be strong. She is still a fragile, emotional, little girl. She won’t be able to do what is needed unless she mans the fuck up. Those three fucks think they are so smart but the real joke is on them. I know of their plan and that’s why I made sure to change it.

They weren’t the only ones who lost someone that day. Tomas owed me just as much as anyone and I expect retribution. Kevin always thought he was smarter than everyone else at the table. He thinks he has won but I’ll never allow it. After all, I know where all the dirty secrets are buried, literally. I warned them all too many times and they never listened once.

They thought they finally had her in their hands. She was set to meet with the Stevens’ not the Sorgetti’s but I made a change in plans. I made sure the deal would be completed today. When they arrived, I made sure they had the envelope of cash for that stupid bitch Gina. It was easy especially after I learned more about her and her indiscretions.

She not only likes to play in the snow but also enjoys making extra cash on the side sending broken girls to homes with daddies who will love them a little too much. I feel the sinister smile forming on my face at the thought of what her new daddy will be showing her during her stay. I know her birthday is fast approaching so I need to make sure everything stays on schedule. I have to keep staying hidden and out of the light until it’s time to make my presence known.

They say money can make even the biggest saint sin. When the Sorgetti’s met with me last week, I made sure they knew what was expected, needed, and what they would get out of it. I also made sure they didn’t give up too many details about their boys. I want her to feel like everything is looking up only to discover it never will. At least until she does what I need her to do. I see them heading to their car to leave when a text comes through.

Manny: Order successful

Me: Delivery will be?

Manny: On time

Me: Great

Me: *Payment Sent*

Manny: It was a pleasure doing business with you.

Looking down at my watch I see it’s a quarter to three. Perfect timing, I have a very important date to make. Climbing into my silver Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, I peel out of the parking lot heading north to my destination. Grabbing the joint and lighter from the center console, I hold it between my lips to light the end until I see the cherry turning red. I take a long puff, inhaling deeply until I fill my lungs with the skunky smoke.
