Chapter 123
Chapter One Hundred-Twenty-Three
Robin
Is it really this easy to have everything you could possibly want? It feels like a fairy tale.
All I had to do was escape a trap I didn’t know I was in, and now I have four incredible mates.
They moved away from their lives to be with me. They’re taking jobs at the academy where I live and work, and now I know they’re thinking about the future.
They want children with me. They want to make a real family together.
I already knew I’d hit the jackpot with them.
But now, I really couldn’t ask for anything more.
The next hour I spend rocking in Jay’s lap comes to a close with the hope that we may have already started a family. I can’t say I’d thought about the consequences of our unprotected encounters until now, but now nothing can keep the smile from my lips.
Falcon is lifting Shayne into his arms when Jay and I get up from the couch.
“Someone’s ready for bed,” he admits.
“Hmm?” Shayne murmurs, his eyes closed.
“I’m gonna clean him up and put him to bed.”
“I’ll reheat the food if it needs it,” Jay says, putting an arm around my waist and stroking my stomach with his other hand. He kisses my shoulder before he moves past me, heading to the cart close to the table.
“Oh, good,” Harper murmurs. “It’s time for dinner.”
I move back to him as Falcon takes Shayne into the bedroom.
He looks sleepy but in good humor.
I hold out a hand to him, and he takes it, not using it to help him up.
He just holds it as he slips off the couch in a move that makes it seem like his bones are made of rubber, only to kneel in front of me. He kisses my lower belly before he gets up.
“I’m pretty sure I came enough for quads to be an option.”
He gets to his feet and walks past me as if he didn’t just tell me I might be pregnant with multiple babies. I follow him toward the kitchen, my legs getting slicker with every step.
Yeah. There’s definitely a lot of baby making material inside me right now.
Unfortunately, a lot of it is making a hasty escape.
“I think I’ll take a quick shower.”
“I could probably use one, too,” Harper muses, looking me over as if he’s thinking he might have more spunk left in his balls than he originally thought.
“If you want to share, that’s fine. But I’m not looking to double down and have octuplets.”
He grins. “That sounds like a lot, but I’m pretty sure I could swing it.”
“Then you can wait for me to be done with the shower.”
“Aw,” he complains, as I leave the room.
When I get into the bedroom, I see Falcon has Shayne laid out on the right side of the bed, and he’s towel-drying his passed-out mate’s stomach area.
He looks up as I enter, closing the door behind me.
“Is he okay?” I ask, coming closer.
“He’s all good.” Falcon smiles. “We hadn’t been intimate in a while, and we had an argument today, so it just kind of happened.”
“An argument?”
“It’s nothing important. We worked through it.”
“I’m glad,” I admit. “I can’t imagine you two arguing. Not seriously.”
“We clash sometimes,” he confesses. “But it’s not enough to keep either of us mad for too long.”
“I guess things can’t be perfect all the time.”
“No, but they can be pretty damn close. I was a little lost after I rescued you, Robin. No, I was lost for a while before we even met. Being here, and seeing you again, it brought me back to myself and my mates. It made me realize what was important.”
“Home,” Shayne murmurs from the bed.
Falcon shakes his head. “He’s talking in his sleep.”
“What’s important?” I ask, needing to know.
“Being together,” he says. “You, me, Shayne, Jay, and Harper. We’re a pack now. Seeing all of you happy and spending time with each other. That’s what matters to me. It’s all that matters.”
“I like that,” I admit. “And I want you to be happy, too.”
He moves closer and wraps his arms around me.
“I’m more than happy, Robin. This is the best I’ve ever felt.”
He kisses my head and lets me go.
“I’m going to have a quick shower,” I admit.
He nods and goes back to cleaning Shayne up.
I go into the bathroom and close the door.
It’s been a pretty crazy week, but I don’t think there’s anything that could kill my smile.
Not tonight. Not tomorrow. Not anytime soon.
