Chapter One Hundred-Thirty

The torture of waiting for information from Owen while I watch over my sedated mates and Falcon rushes off to go hunt for Robin is completely gut-wrenching.

“This doesn’t make sense,” Owen says.

“What doesn’t make sense?” I ask.

“That detective stepped off the elevator and knocked on the door to your suite, then she left and got in the elevator with Robin.”

“She’s the one who kidnapped Robin? The detective?”

“She didn’t come into the building. She didn’t leave, either.”

“You’re telling me they’re still inside the building?”

“It seems like it. I can’t pick them up on any other cameras. It doesn’t make sense.”

Shayne groans, and I move back to his side.

“Robin?” he asks, as he starts to sit up.

“She was kidnapped, by that detective.”

“Fuck,” Shayne swears. “The food had something in it.”

He gets up, swaying a bit.

“Sedatives, I assume,” I tell him.

“Who are you speaking to? Is Falcon out looking for her?”

“Owen, and yeah, he is. She left a chocolate trail, maybe.”

“She did? Then why … Oh. Right. You had to stay with us.”

“It’s the basement,” Owen says, sounding annoyed. “There are rooms down there. We’ve never had time to check them. There could be some kind of way out. Fuck. I’m sending a team.”

“How do I get down there?” I ask.

“There’s only one exit and one entry point. The elevator.”

“I’m on my way down now.”
