Chapter 29

SARINA

“How is this fun?” I ask Tomás as he is mid squat, with his inked quads on full display, grunting like he’s being tortured. “I mean for you that is?”

He completes his set, walking the barbell back in place.

Sweat drips from his forehead and I offer him the towel slung over my shoulder, since I have no intention of working up a sweat in this gym.

I rather poke my eyes out then workout. I only agreed to come with him so that we can spend some more alone time together.

After how the dinner at my parents went, and knowing how awkward seeing them at the rehearsal dinner and wedding will be, I would only be driving myself crazy sitting in our room alone.

“I don’t know, I find working out to center me,” he says, wiping the sweat off his brow.

My lips fall to a pout. “You mean to tell me that bending your legs on repeat is your idea of relaxation?”

“I guess.”

I roll my eyes. “You need to some more excitement in your life.”

“Isn’t that the truth.” His chest is still heaving from his workout. He eyes the clock, then the empty gym around us. “It’s quiet in here,” he observes.

“You don’t say?”

He smirks. “You’re kind of a smart ass, you know that?”

My hand flies to my mouth. “Who? Me? Whatever makes you say that?”

As if on cue, his phone chimes with multiple emails, and to my surprise, he doesn’t jump to it.

“You should get that,” I remind him.

“I know,” he hums, taking a step closer to me.

“It’s probably about the closing we have coming up.”

“More than likely.” He comes even closer, his hand melding to my lower back.

Closing the space between us, he pulls me into him, and before I know it, I’m no longer standing on the ground. I’m on his shoulders, with both legs draped over his this chest.

He stares at me in the gym mirror, waiting for me to say something.

I don’t.

I can’t say a damn thing.

Not when he’s squatting like he was just before but instead of the barbell he’s using me.

“What are you doing?”

“Finishing my workout,” he deadpans, with a look in his eye that doesn’t match his tone.

It’s an invitation.

I fake yawn. “I said you need more excitement in your life. Not another set of squats.”

“Oh, so you mean, I need more of this?”

He stands upright only long enough to flip me around to face him. Still on his shoulders, my center is in front of his face, blocking his view, and apparently his ability or desire to workout.

“You’re sweaty,” I say, as if it bothers me.

It doesn’t. Not one bit. How could it when he’s resumed his squats except this time, every time his legs straighten he places a kiss to the apex of my thighs.

And not a fast peck. A slow, intentional kiss, each time baring his teeth just enough that he nibbles at my clit.

The barrier my clothing creates overtop my center doesn’t distract from the sensation he’s causing me. If anything, it only adds to it.

I know the gym at the resort is empty now, but there are guests here, who can walk in at any minute. I remind him of this, but he ignores me.

“Do you want me to stop?”

I tug at his hair, bringing his attention to me.

“Well?” His breath tickles my center, only adding to the heat he’s been stirring inside me.

“No.”

He grins, bringing his lips back to me, this time sucking the fabric and me in, as he deepens his movements. “That’s what a thought,” he hums, stopping his workout, but keeping me on his shoulders. He continues to tease me until my legs tighten around his neck and I’m bucking my hips in release.

Pressing a kiss to my inner thighs, he carefully brings me back to the ground.

The door squeals open with two resort guests heading to the treadmill.

“That was close,” I whisper to him.

“See, I can have fun.”

“I never said you couldn’t, I said you need more excitement in your life.”

“With you in it, I’ll have plenty of excitement.” He winks.

“Yeah, we’ll see about that.”

“Don’t underestimate yourself, mama. That was the most exciting workout I’ve had in a while.” His tongue swipes at his lips, and a mischievous grin forms. “The best tasting, too.”
