Epilogue
ROGUE
One Month Later . . .
After everything Rebel and I have gone through in the past ten years.
Being separated, because of some psycho sadistic bitch who couldn’t be more delusional.
Then me nearly dying before we could truly be together again.
To think I could’ve lost her and our baby both, because of this whole mess.
As it is, we all barely made it out of the school that day in time.
I’ll never forget the sight of her tied to that concrete beam. Or the blood seeping from her.
Finding out everything about Sabrina after the shitshow she created, we’d learned she went off her meds when she shouldn’t have. She had thought her kid was mine this whole time. How the fuck was it even possible—I’ve never touched her.
Luckily Rebel and our baby ended up being okay. The bullet in Rebel’s leg was easily removed. Sabrina evidently had shitty aim, because she attempted to shoot my woman while at her office but ended up shooting at the floor.
I don’t know what happened there. I’m just fuckin’ elated Rebel wasn’t killed.
Today we’re celebrating Malice and Willow’s triplets’ birthday with a BBQ at the clubhouse. It’s hard to believe that those three are getting so big already. Gavin and Gates are the spitting image of each other, while Gemini is one of the most beautiful little girls I’ve ever seen.
The other beautiful little girl is sitting across from my woman at a picnic table—Delilah. She’s Gunner’s little girl and sweet as all get out.
I’ve heard the ol’ ladies talking about how she looks so much like her mom. I’ve gotta agree with them. It just sucks she won’t get to see her mom again. The good thing is she’s got her dad now, and that man is wrapped around her little finger.
Making my way to Rebel’s table, I’m balancing two plates of food, a beer, and a bottle of water as I go.
While at the hospital the day everything went down, we’d found out how far along Rebel is.
Pride swells in me to think about the fact that I knocked her up that first time we were together again.
Yesterday we went to the doctor, and they’d asked if we wanted to find out what we were having.
I left the decision to my woman. I don’t care either way.
Boy or girl, this kid is a part of her and me both.
Rebel went with us not finding out. She wants to be surprised when the day comes.
“Here you go, Duchess,” I say, getting her attention as I get close enough with her food.
“Thank you, I’m starving,” she declares, eyeing the BBQ ribs on her plate.
“Me too,” Delilah says loudly and looks around for Gunner, and yells. “Daddy, I’m hungry.”
Gunner glances over and gives Delilah a grin. “Come here, pipsqueak, and tell me what you want.”
Delilah spins on the bench and jumps down. She quickly runs to her dad and jumps in his arms.
“She’s adorable,” Rebel announces, picking up her fork.
Putting my plate down next to hers, I straddle the bench and sit facing Rebel. “Yeah, she is.”
Rebel takes a couple bites of food before wiping her mouth and twisting to gaze at me. “So, I have a confession to make.”
“Okay, what is it?” I ask, eyeing her cautiously. I know my woman, and this could mean anything right about now.
“Well, I called the doctor’s office yesterday afternoon while you were in the garage doing something. I changed my mind and found out what we’re having.” She smiles sweetly as she informs me of this news.
“And what did you find out?” I quirk a brow, my full attention on her when Gunner and Delilah rejoin us.
Rebel leans her body against my chest and lays her head on my shoulder. “Girl.”
Oh fuck.
“You serious right now?” I demand quietly
We’re gonna have a girl.
Warmth flows through me, and I wrap my arms around Rebel. “Fuckin’ love you, Duchess.”
“Daddy, Uncle Rogue said a bad word,” Delilah pipes loudly, gaining our attention. I chuckle at the sight of BBQ sauce all over her face.
“It’s okay, baby, but you know the rules. Princess doesn’t use that language,” Gunner states, cleaning his little girl’s face.
Delilah nods and goes back to eating.
Gunner turns back to face us and grins. “Congrats on the girl.”
“Thanks.” I nod.
The two of us are talking when suddenly something behind me catches his eye, and he pales.
What the fuck?
Glancing behind me, my mouth nearly drops to the ground at the sight of the woman walking slowly in our direction.
Holy shit.
It can’t be.
There’s no way in hell.
But Gunner confirms it in the next second, “Zinnia.”
Shit, I know all hell’s about to break loose all over again.
