Chapter 24

CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR

Leviathan

Before I could stop myself, or Ty could hold me back, I leapt into the air. My wings snapped out, and I dove for the daemon prince. A dozen truxen daemons produced weapons and prepared to take me out, but they weren’t fast enough.

My arms wrapped around Phen’s waist, and we tumbled to the earth. He grunted, taking the brunt of our combined weight as we fell.

“You fucking bastard,” I purred, pressing my nose into his neck and drinking in his scent. “Didn’t realize how much I would miss you. It’s been dreadfully dull with the grumpy twins.”

Phen’s hands circled my waist, pinching and teasing enough to make my dick half hard. He chuckled. “Hmm, I can feel how much you missed me, brother. But perhaps we save that sort of play for later.”

Strong hands ripped me off Phen from behind, and I knew it was Ty. “Keep it in your pants, baby boy,” he murmured in my ear, a possessive edge to his tone that did nothing to lessen my hard-on.

Andras helped Phen to his feet just as Michaela ran to us. “Where’s my sister?” Morax was a step behind her, as always.

Phen grinned, and happiness flooded my veins. “She’s in the palace, getting ready for tonight. There’s a big welcome party for her. And for all of you.” He gestured to the masses.

Andras arched a brow and slid his hands into the pockets of his suit pants. “You knew we’d be here?”

Phen laughed. “Of course. These truxens are a tricky bunch. All kinds of nifty magic.” He pointed toward the road to the east. “There’s a camp ready for the army that way. Don’t worry, it’s not like how the mortals on Earth camp. It’s fancy as hell.”

Several of the daemons behind Phen peeled off to greet our people and guide them to the camp. We stayed behind, along with Michaela and Mor, Delphine and her mates, and Nuri and Lo.

Morax stepped in front of us to greet his brother. They clasped forearms and nodded, communicating without spoken words until Mor broke the silence. “My mate needs to rest and recoup. Do we have rooms?”

Phen smiled and nodded, shoving Morax aside and embracing Michaela. “Thank you for bringing the army and my brother here. Even though I know his eyes are filled with growly fury right now.”

Michaela laughed, patting Phen’s arm lightly and pulling away until her back was pressed to her mate’s chest. I didn’t realize how exhausted she looked until he mentioned it.

“Yes, Michaela and Delphine”—I nodded to the witch—“you females are bad ass as hell. There’s no way we won’t kick ass on the battlefield with powerful babes like you out there.”

Phen chuckled, watching his brother seeth at my crass words. But Grem smirked, wrapping an arm around Delphine’s curvy hips. “Powerful babes, indeed.”
