Chapter 34

CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR

Leviathan

We were hiking the trail to some entrance at the base of the mountain like peasants.

“Why can’t we fly there?” I asked for the third time, because I just wasn’t satisfied with the answer.

“That’s too easy,” Phen responded for the third time. “This is a team-building activity. No wings unless absolutely necessary.”

I eyed Seraphina’s luscious ass and toned thighs, wrapped around Ty’s back. “Why doesn’t she have to walk, then?”

“Because I’m a lady.” Seraphina turned back and winked at me. “Yah, horsey, yah!” She smacked Ty’s thigh.

He growled, snapping his teeth at her. “Careful, pet. This stallion has no problem dropping you to all fours and mounting your sweet ass right here.”

“Oh noooo,” Seraphian drawled. “What a punishment.”

Ty chuckled, squeezing her thighs. “You might change your tone when my dick is balls deep in your tight ass.”

I groaned. “Please, can we stop and act this out? I’m hard already.”

Andras sighed audibly. “No. We have thousands of people counting on us and not enough time to return before the first battle begins. Mate bonds first, fucking later.”

“Who invited the party pooper?” Sera grumbled.

Andras stopped and turned, walking calmly toward our girl.

She squirmed, but Ty held her firmly against him.

Andras snatched her chin between his thumb and forefinger.

“If you think that for one moment of the time we’ve been together, I haven’t craved your slutty little cunt wrapped around my cock, you are mistaken, sweetheart. ”

Seraphina’s eyes dilated, and my half-hard dick was at full-mast. “God damn, Andras. If you’re trying to steer us away from the orgy idea, it’s not working.”

My stoic brother smirked but said nothing before returning to the head of the line, leading us to the entrance of the magic mountain bullshit.

Well, Elgo was leading, at the insistence of Scribe Lahabiel.

Because almost no one made the journey, and even less survived, there weren’t exactly directions other than a general idea, guarded by the truxens from outsiders.

And apparently the entrance could even hide from those not deemed worthy enough to enter.

I was confident we’d get in, but considering we had no idea what waited for us within, my hopes were a little more grim than normal.

Not Phen, though. He was already making plans for our grand entrance.

Some kind of epic jump into the battle with fire, lightning, the works.

As long as the others could hold the line until we returned.

We hadn’t really spent a lot of time with the truxen daemons, but they seemed capable enough.

Even the young male leading us now, who was apparently older than us by a century or so, was considered a top bowman.

The truxens required all their warriors, male and female, to learn skills without using their power.

The elders said it was important for their people to be able to defend themselves, even if disconnected from the magic the elements provide.

It was rare, but apparently there were all kinds of powers we hadn’t heard of, including the ability to snuff out another creature’s power.

That would be badass. When our mate bonds first locked into place, I felt something shift inside me, a power waking within, but our bonds were severed before I could fully understand it.

My brothers had similar experiences. Ty said his was more explosive, a volcano ready to erupt.

Andras said his felt cold and stinging, like touching dry ice.

And Dev, his was more like mine, something subtle that was too far away to grasp.

I was curious to see what would come of those powers when our bonds were restored.

Hopefully we’d become strong enough to defeat the bad guys.

“The air has shifted,” Elgo announced, pausing at the fork in the path ahead. “We go left.”

“How do you know?” Seraphina asked, cocking her head at the daemon.

He didn’t look at her when he spoke. “My eldest brother made this journey some time ago.” Elgo didn’t offer any further information.

It was a strange reply, but none of us pressed him further. Even Phen wore an uncertain frown, as if he could sense something wasn’t quite right.
