Chapter 50

CHAPTER FIFTY

Seraphina

The scene unfolding below us was fucking insane as we flew over the forest, the crumbling castle in the distance, and the craziest battlefield in between.

“Why is everyone frozen?”

“Look, there.” Phen pointed toward a cage of ice in the middle of the barrens. “I think your sister is doing this.”

Phen was right. Michaela was trapped in some kind of icy cage, and Morax was at the mercy of Belial. A blinding light coated my sister’s body, and I could see her limbs shaking with effort. She was going to fucking kill herself.

“Seems like we arrived just in time,” Levi called out to my right. He reached over and pinched my side affectionately. “Let’s go give them hell, shall we?”

His navy eyes glowed with power, and lust zipped through my body.

His cheeky smirk turned feral as he registered what I was feeling through our mate bond.

Having all my men returned to me was a heady feeling.

Before, when we were first mated, the bonds were more like a caress.

I could feel them, but there was still a barrier.

We had all been harbouring our own secrets then, carrying shame and guilt and anger from our past. But no longer.

We freed ourselves of those shackles, and I’d never felt more powerful than I did now.

The blood of my daemon father and lumen mother sizzled with power beneath my flesh.

It ached to be unleashed. And I knew just the devils who deserved the full extent of my wrath.

My black wings carried me through the air as we soared together through the sky, dropping to the bloodied earth like six beasts unleashed from hell.

Now fully embracing their power, my princes looked every bit the daemons they were.

It was not only Phen who sported horns and claws, but all five of my mates.

They were monsters of the most glorious variety.

Andras’s wings were jet black and feathered, similar to mine.

Levi’s were deep red and scaled like a dragon.

Typhon’s were more batlike, with sharp talons and a shimmer of dark green in the sunlight.

And Dev’s wings were feathered, a deep charcoal with an almost silver hue to them.

Each of my mates was beautiful and terrifying in their monstrous forms, and I loved them all the more.

If only someone was recording this, because our descent to the battlefield must have looked cool as hell. As soon as my booted feet hit the ground, I cast a fire hotter than lava over the ice trapping my sister. It sizzled away into a cool mist.

“Miss me?” I teased, and her eyes widened in relief.

“Morax.” She sobbed the word, and I whipped my gaze to her mate, but Phen was already there. He snatched the blade away from Belial just as Michaela let go of her hold over the others.

Shouts of fear and confusion rumbled through the hundreds of creatures, and then the fighting resumed. But it was the shocked and fearful faces of Laszlo and Samuel that had another zip of lust rushing through my veins.

“Seraphina,” Andras growled. “Why the fuck are you getting turned on whilst staring at my father?”

I laughed, biting my lip. “Look at the fear on his face? And Samuel, did you miss me? I’ve come to poke more holes in your weak flesh. Just the thought of the bloodbath to come is making me want to fuck my mates’ brains out.”

Andras slapped my ass, and I yelped. “No more lusty thoughts, sweetheart. It’s time to end this.”

Seeing him so animated was doing things to my heart. Andras grinned, his sharp black horns glinting in the daylight, and those chocolate brown eyes I loved winked with devious intent.

“I agree with Andras,” Ty purred, his wolfie eyes winking at me. “If I feel one more wave of lust coming from you, I will fuck you until you scream right here on this battlefield.”

“ENOUGH,” Laszlo bellowed, causing everyone within earshot to turn their attention to him. “Surrender now, or face unimaginable fates.”

I rolled my eyes, tossing my hair over my shoulder. “Bring it on, bitch.”

And then he did. Laszlo was no weak mortal.

He wasn’t actually a daemon or lumen, but he was trained enough in dark magic, and with Belial’s help, almost as powerful.

As soon as the fighting resumed, Morax snatched my sister and rushed out of the fight.

She was kicking and screaming, but I was cool with their retreat.

They both looked drained, and I’d rather they recoup some strength before joining back into the fray.

Besides, this was my fight. The vow I made to destroy the fucker who murderer my mother and my sister.

Who forced me to kill my adopted father, Joseph Bronwen, who only ever tried to love us.

The fucking dicks who assaulted my sister, my friends and even my mates.

And me. Laszlo Blackbyrn did everything he could to break me, and failed. Now it was time for him to die.

We split up into pairs. Andras and Dev taking on Laszlo, while Ty and Levi went after Samuel. I joined Phen with his attack on Belial. The piece of shit daemon prince was definitely the strongest of our enemies, but this time, I was prepared.

Ignoring the distraction tactics he attempted, Phen and I fought him with coordinated attacks, giving Belial no time to pause.

“I see you’ve mated, Phenex,” Belial taunted. “Not male enough to keep her all yourself, though. The whore had to find four other dicks to suck because yours just wasn’t enough.”

I sent a blast of fire at the asshole. “Sounds like someone is jealous. Whip your dick out, Belial. I bet it’s pathetic. Where’s your mate? Oh right, no one wanted you.”

Phen chuckled, his emotions unbothered by his brother’s taunts. The bond between us hummed with confidence and strength. “Your mind games won’t work on me any longer, big brother. I have found my family. The ones who truly make me feel alive. Something you will never know.”

Belial roared in fury, and we used the opportunity to bring him down. He was strong, though, unnaturally so. Every hit that connected seemed to heal even faster than the next. The fucker was still drawing too much power from his source.
