11. Nourah Marcell
PB and I ended up laid up on my couch, and when his phone buzzed against the cushion, it made me jump because somewhere after my fourth cup, I was definitely over there sleeping and probably snoring too.
I stretched a little and looked up at him through the slits of my eyes, and he looked down at me with his eyes just as low as mine.
He grabbed the phone and answered. The only thing I heard him say was, “Is he good? Aight. Y’all heading back home? Nah… not no time soon. That ain’t important. Man… aight.” Then he hung up.
Me being me, I asked, “Who was that?”
“My baby mama,” he said, setting the phone on his thigh. “I told her to let me know what the doctor said about Rah Jr. Just like I thought, lil’ man got an ear infection.”
“Aww, I hope he feels better soon.”
He nodded. “Yeah, me too.”
I bit the inside of my lip for a moment before I asked, “Do you take care of him too? Like, do you consider him yours?”
He sighed. “I mean, yeah. His daddy ain’t shit for real, so I be tryna step up as much as I can.”
It was quiet for a moment, and then I looked away and said, “Understood.”
He laughed a little. “What? I feel like you wanna say something.”
I shook my head. “No, I got my own situation going on, so I’ma stay quiet.”
“Facts,” he said. “But say what you gotta say, love.”
“It’s nothing like that, though.”
“Okay, so say it,” he egged me on.
“I was just going to ask, since we’ve been getting to know each other a little more, if you and her…”
Before I could even finish my sentence, he cut me off.
“Nah.” He sat up a little straighter. “Clearly, she ain’t getting it through her head that we ain’t never gon’ be shit. I tried to let her handle the house hunting on her own, but she ain’t even fucking tried. So, I’ma have my assistant handle all that shit tomorrow.” He shook his head.
“Well, honestly…” I stayed silent for a moment before I said, “That’s music to my ears.”
He chuckled. “Why is that?”
“I don’t know.” I shrugged, trying to hide my smile. “Maybe because next time I might wanna come lay-up at your house.”
“I ain’t say you could come over to my house, shawty.”
My neck snapped in his direction so fast. “Boy, you better stop playing with me.”
He smiled that smile that always got me in trouble. “Nah, you definitely welcome to slide as soon as I get everything situated.”
I smiled back. “Okay, I’ma hold you to that.” I stood up, stretched, and said, “I’ll be back. I have to use the restroom. You need anything? Water? Juice? Another shot?”
He shook his head. “Nah, I’m already lit, but handle your business.”
“Okay,” I said and headed for the bathroom.
I used the bathroom, washed my hands, and checked myself out in the mirror before I decided to freshen up a little by gargling with mouthwash. When I finished and opened the bathroom door, I gasped because I was not expecting PB to be standing right there.
I burst out laughing and said, “Boy, what the hell are you doing?”
Instead of answering, he backed me into the bathroom and shocked the hell out of me when he lifted me up and sat me on the counter. My mouth fell open as I stared at him.
“You got a little liquid courage, huh?”
“I been wanting to kiss you all day,” he said, leaning in, but I turned my head a little.
“Hold on.”
“For what?” His brows rose.
“I told myself I wasn’t gon’ do this,” I said, more so to myself than to him.
He looked at me, confused. “Do what?”
“This,” I said, motioning between us. “I’m not tryna judge because, like I said, I got my own situation, but with your baby mama still living with you, I don’t know if we should be doing any of this. Just chilling is cool, but what are you tryna do right now?”
“I want you,” he said like it was the simplest thing in the world.
“I want you too, but we just finished talking about me coming over once your situation is handled, so what’s the rush? Handle your business first, and then maybe you can get some coochie, boo.”
“Or I can handle you first and business later,” he said, leaning in again.
This time, I turned my head the other way, and his lips landed on my neck instead. He surprised me yet again when he placed one hand on my throat, tilted my head back a little, and started sucking on it, his tongue swirling against my neck.
I pushed at his chest a little, but it was feeling way too good, and my hands ended up just resting there. Then I caught myself and pushed a little harder.
“Wait, I’m serious, PB.”
He stopped and pulled back enough to look at me, his hand sliding from my neck to my jaw.
“I don’t wanna be messing around with somebody who lives with another woman,” I told him.
“I told you I got that covered. It’s being handled, and I’m a man of my word. I can show you better than I can tell you.”
Then this fool held up his pinky.
I laughed. “You wanna do a pinky promise? Like, right now?”
“Why not? I’m tryna show you that you ain’t got shit to worry about when it comes to me. I want you so bad, I’ll do whatever I gotta do. You feel me?”
I looked at his pinky for a moment and took a few beats to really think about it because I had just come out of a whole mess with Carl, and I wasn’t trying to walk right into another one.
Eventually, I held mine up and hooked it around his, and we made that promise.
“Now can I kiss yo’ fine ass?”
I smiled and nodded. “Yes. But just know I’m a little crazy. I don’t give a damn if you’re a millionaire or not. I will still bust your tires and slash your windows.” I giggled as soon as it left my mouth. “Wait, that came out wrong.”
He chuckled. “Yeah, that’s all them damn shots.”
I yelped when he lifted me off the counter, and I wrapped my arms around his neck while his hands went straight to my ass as he carried me to my bedroom.
I was so grateful I had made my bed and cleaned a little before he came over because that would’ve been embarrassing, but I couldn’t even think too hard about it because he kissed me slow and deep right before he laid me down.
I looked up at him as he pulled his shirt over his head, leaving him in a wife-beater. He took that off too, his eyes on me the whole time. I sat up and did the same, taking my clothes off one by one.
“Damn,” he said once I freed my titties from my bra and tossed it to the side.
Are you really doing this? What if he’s lying? IDGAF about a pinky promise. He’s probably still fucking her. Put your titties back up… No, keep them out… Girl, shut up!
“You good?” he asked, probably sensing the hesitation.
I fell back on the bed dramatically, face-first, and laughed.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
“I can’t do this,” I mumbled.
Then I sat up and looked at him while on my knees with my feet tucked under me. “I mean, I really want to, but…”
He dropped his pants, and that big-ass dick popped out, making me suck those words right back up.
“But what?” he asked.
I swallowed the lump in my throat. “Nothing… fuck it.”
I crawled over to him as he stepped out of his pants and tossed them to the floor before grabbing a condom.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
I jumped, but PB didn’t even flinch.
It was late, and nobody needed to be at my spot right now. I sighed, horny as hell, and went to grab my robe.
“Carl’s ass better not have come back,” I mumbled, but PB slipped on his pants.
“Nah, you stay here.” That made my pussy throb even more. I loved a man in that sexy-ass protective mode. “I’ma make sure he didn’t.”
Reaching for his Mousekatool, he left my room, and I sat down on the bed.
A few short moments later, I heard the locks, then him say, “Pais, what the fuck?”
POW! POW!
“Ahhh!” I screamed, getting down, not knowing what the fuck was going on.
I heard a lot of shuffling, and he yelled, “Bitch, you tryna kill me?”
More shuffling followed, sounding like shit was getting knocked over. Several heavy footsteps rushed into my apartment.
“Drop it!” I heard an unfamiliar voice shout.
I ran over to my bed, reached for my gun under my mattress, and ran over to my bedroom door. I poked my head out, and when I couldn’t see anything from my room, I headed slowly down the hallway with the gun at my waist.
“You fucked her… didn’t you?” Paisley sobbed. “I fucking hate you! Why couldn’t you just do right by me, Princeton?”
“Aye, chill the fuck out!” PB shouted.
When I rounded the corner, two men dressed in black had Paisley pinned to the floor. One of them had her arms secured behind her back while the other picked up the gun.
I didn’t know who the hell they were or where they had come from until one of them looked at PB.
“Sorry, boss. We escorted her to and from the hospital like you instructed, but we had no idea she was armed. She said you were expecting her, and we should’ve confirmed that with you before letting her through.”
PB looked at his security for a long moment, then replied, “Where’s her son?”
“Safe and sound in the car, sir.”
The security guards lifted Paisley from the floor while she continued kicking and screaming.
She looked me dead in the eyes, her face full of tears, and said, “You won…” She sniffled. “Fuck it… you won.”
“Get her downstairs,” PB ordered. “Now.”
“Yes, sir.”
They dragged Paisley toward the stairs while she continued sobbing.
PB looked at me, apologetic as hell, but all I could think about were the neighbors. They had to have heard all that noise, and I knew it was only a matter of time before somebody called the police.
“Nourah, I’m sorry ’bout all this shit. I don’t know how she knew I was here, but the last thing I would ever wanna do is bring drama to your front door. I’m not that kind of nigga.”
I placed my gun down and put my hand against the bridge of my nose for a moment, closing my eyes.
“I know, and I’m not trippin’ about that, but… she tried to shoot you?”
I opened my eyes, and he walked over to me, grabbing my hand.
“I’m good, love.”
“Yeah, but that could’ve ended badly, Princeton.”
“Look, I don’t wanna leave like this, but I gotta go. Lock your door behind me.”
“Wait… but… what about the police?”
“Muthafuckas are probably too scared to open their doors and shit, so even if they get to knocking on doors and asking questions… you ain’t see shit, just like them. You feel me?”
I nodded. “Okay, well… where are you taking her?”
“Somewhere she can calm the fuck down without putting anybody else in danger. Rah Jr. is downstairs with the driver. I gotta make sure he good.”
He cupped my face and looked directly into my eyes.
“I’m sorry, love. I swear I ain’t know she was coming here.”
I sighed. “Just go handle it.”
PB kissed my forehead before leaving, and I quickly closed and locked the door.
I stood completely still in the middle of my living room.
“What the actual fuck?”
A few minutes later, sirens could be heard somewhere in the distance.
