Chapter 21
Alessa
There’s a reason I made Leo go with us today.
I needed to know how he would react to who we really are.
He was told, I’m sure, but nothing like seeing it firsthand hammers it home.
It was a gamble. But if he wants to run, he needed to do it now before I got into it deeper with him.
But the truth is, I’m already all the way in.
When we got back to the house, he disappeared, and I gave him space, letting him make up his mind. He could return to his brothers anytime since I told him he was free and gave him a room upstairs, but he chose to stay here.
“Quit worrying,” Gage says from my office door.
“You saw his face,” I say miserably. I shut my laptop because it’s not like I’m getting any work done, anyway.
I gave all the information that I had to Holden so he can track down Moretto’s supplier, and Gerald’s working on figuring out who Lucas and Landon’s foster parents are, so now it’s a waiting game.
Gage sits in the chair in front of the desk. “It was his first one seeing you take someone out, Pretty girl. Leo is stronger than we give him credit for.”
I tilt my head to the side. “What’s going on with you two?” I ask because I haven’t heard anything else about their almost kiss the other morning.
Gage shrugs. “Nothing.” I raise an eyebrow, and he sighs. “I don’t want to push him. He wants it; he just hasn’t accepted it yet.”
I smile. “Thank you for not pushing him.”
Gage will eventually charm him into knowing it is okay, but he will never push him into anything Gage thought he might regret. I know they spend a lot of time together when I’m busy, and I’m glad Leo has Gage.
“You know that’s not my style. I have other ways.” Gage grins, and his dimples pop out, his blue eyes glittering.
I snort. “Trust me. I know those ways.”
“Not even the great Alessa Poletti can resist me.”
“Shut up.” I laugh because he’s not wrong. Gage flirted all the time, but when he turned the full force of his charms on me, I was putty in his hands.
“So, you and Ryder are good?”
“We are.” I sigh in contentment, remembering spending the morning with his cock buried in me, bringing me pleasure over and over again.
“Damn, I hope you get that look when you think about me.”
“What look?” I ask, confused.
“The ‘I just had the best sex of my life’ look.”
I stand up and make my way to Gage, straddling his lap in the chair and wrapping my arms around his neck. His hands go straight to my ass. “You have nothing to worry about, Gage,” I assure him, and he doesn’t. None of them do; they make damn sure I’m taken care of.
He buries his nose in my hair, rubbing it down my neck. It never fails to make me shiver. “You were fucking hot today, Pretty girl, and my dick was hard as a rock watching you take care of business.”
I laugh, but it comes out husky. “You would be turned on by that.”
“I get turned on with you just breathing,” he replies, then kisses me.
It starts slow and then starts burning hotter.
Gage and I are like fire and gasoline in the best way.
Just when he’s sliding his hands under my shirt, there is a knock at the door.
He pulls back from the kiss with a sigh and smooths my shirt back down.
“Come in,” I call out, not bothering to move.
“Hey. Holden gave me some info…shit. Sorry,” Dex rumbles, walking into the room, taking in the position Gage and I are in.
Gage slaps my ass before lifting me to a standing position. “All good.” He stands up, pecking my lips. “You take care of that. I’ll find Leo.” He looks at me pointedly, reminding me of what we talked about, and I nod.
“Thank you.”
“Anytime, Pretty girl.” He strolls out of the room, adjusting his cock in his pants.
“I didn’t mean to interrupt,” Dex says, rubbing the back of his neck.
“It’s okay.” I suck in a breath nervously. “Come upstairs with me.”
He frowns but nods. It’s time to put mine and Gage’s plan into the works.
I lead him to my room, opening the door and motioning him inside. I shut the door behind us and ask the one question I need to know.
“Do you trust me?”
