29. Chapter Twenty-Nine
Chapter Twenty-Nine
Tucker
I always had a hard time sleeping after we went on a raid or got into a fight or something like that, but I also always had a way of burning off the extra adrenaline. Except, with me only wanting Evie, and her being pissed, my usual method of decompressing wasn’t really…available to me at the moment.
Which was why I was currently sitting in my bed—alone—with my laptop. And I wasn’t watching porn. The thought hadn’t even crossed my mind, honestly, not after what I’d experienced with Evie earlier today. I considered taking a shower and reminiscing about our time together to take the edge off, but I figured a better way to spend my time was to do what we promised Evie we’d do in the first place.
Protect her.
We knew that the letters she’d gotten weren’t from an actual stalker, but the police still hadn’t found out who’d broken into her mom’s place, and my gut said it had to do with Evie, not Trudy. If I was wrong and Evie wasn’t the target, that was fine, but the other way around wasn’t something I even wanted to think about.
I’d been at it for maybe an hour when I stumbled across something that had me sitting up in my bed, my heart racing. The description of the link had me praying that it was just clickbait or maybe a deepfake, but when I followed it, my heart sank.
“How do you want me?”
That was Evie’s voice. Evie’s naked body spread out on a familiar-looking bed.
“Damn, Evie. The things you say.”
And that was me grabbing her hand so she couldn’t touch herself. My voice saying things that should have been private.
“Hands and knees. And while I take you from behind, you’re gonna suck Mason’s cock.”
I knew what was coming next and felt my stomach churn. I stopped the video before it moved on, because I’d seen enough to know it was real, and if I watched any more of it, I was probably going to end up breaking my laptop.
Taking it with me, I headed for Levi’s office where I knew he and Mason would be, going over what’d happened with the Cobras and preparing for any sort of retaliation. That was important, but what I’d found took precedence, and not just because it involved Evie. This meant that someone had been recording in Levi’s bedroom.
I knocked on the office door and walked in without waiting for an answer. My brothers looked surprised, but not annoyed.
“What’s wrong?” Mason asked.
“I was doing some digging on stuff about Evie and found something.” I set my laptop on the desk. “Brace yourselves, because you’re gonna want to break something.”
Mason’s voice came through loud and clear as my brothers watched the four of us on screen.
“You’re gonna want to do a good job, too. Because lube’s only gonna do so much. Taking all three of us in your pussy, one right after the other, it’d probably be too much after fucking me last night and Tucker this morning.”
Levi spun in his chair and punched the wall behind him, his fist going right through the drywall.
“What the fuck?!” Mason stared at the now-paused video as if it was going to change if he just looked hard enough.
“Fuck!” Levi shook his hand as he stood up. “We need to get her out of my room right now.”
“This is bad,” Mason said as the three of us headed for Levi’s bedroom.
“No shit,” Levi muttered, his expression dark as he glanced at me. “You know who posted it?”
I shook my head. “I figured finding the camera and getting Evie away from it took priority.”
“Damn right,” Mason said. He reached the door first and knocked. “Evie, I know you’re pissed at us, but we found something you really need to see.”
A few seconds passed, and I wondered if we were going to have to pick the lock or something drastic like that, when we heard the key in the lock. She gave us a wary look as she opened the door, but she didn’t immediately cuss us out, which I figured was a good thing.
I motioned for her to come into the hallway, because no way in hell did I want her reaction caught on the same camera, especially since I didn’t know how the video was being captured.
“It’s bad,” I warned her before opening my laptop and showing her the image paused on the screen. “And, yeah, it’s video and audio.”
All of the color drained from her face as she slumped back against the wall.
“You guys find that camera,” I told my brothers as I moved closer to Evie. I didn’t know if she’d want me to touch her, but I wanted to be close enough to grab her if she started to fall.
“I think I’m gonna puke,” Evie said faintly.
“You wanna go to my room?” I asked. “I didn’t see anything that looked like there’s a camera anywhere but Levi’s bedroom, but I can’t promise anything.”
“No,” she said, looking at me. “You can’t, can you?”
“I’m gonna get it off that site,” I said. “I’ll figure out a way to scrub it and we’ll find out who did this.”
“Nothing’s ever gone once it gets on the internet,” she said, her voice hollow. “Catch them, don’t catch them. It won’t make the video disappear, and it won’t make everyone who’s watched it forget.”
“I’m so sorry,” I said.
I could hear Levi and Mason tearing apart Levi’s room, but it was background noise. Evie was my focus.
After a minute, she took a deep breath and pushed herself off the wall. Squaring her shoulders, she looked up at me, a hard light in her eyes.
“Since you guys are clearly shit at protecting me from anything, I see no reason for me to stay here a second longer.”
“Evie—” I started.
She held up a hand. “Unless you wanna be charged with kidnapping, I suggest you don’t try to stop me.”
I would’ve risked it if I thought she was wrong, but this violation was so awful that I couldn’t disagree with her.
So I let her dart back into the room to grab her purse, and then I let her walk away.
