Chapter 2

Chapter

Two

KENSI

“ I ’m getting married!” I shout when I see Nadia with Matthew on her hip the next day in the kitchen at the Clubhouse. When she turns in my direction, I wiggle my left ring finger. I’ve never been subtle about anything and that isn’t going to start now. I’m loud, brash and full of life and won’t let anyone change that about me.

Last night after Aftermath proposed to me, he wouldn’t let me use my phone and call someone or leave the room. He made love to me all night long. In the shower, on the floor, in the bed, and even in the closet when I was trying to get dressed this morning. That man has made me come so many times through the night, I’m surprised I can walk today.

I don’t tell Nadia this though as she grabs my hand and a smile graces her lips. “Congratulations! When are you thinking?” Nadia asks.

“New Year’s Eve.” I’m so excited I doubt I’ll be able to concentrate on anything today and that won’t be productive for anyone.

“Wow, that’s like less than two months away. Are you sure you want something that quick?” Nadia asks, being the voice of reason.

“Definitely. It’s going to be simple, on a beach with just the Royal Bastards and my dad. I don’t need or want anything extravagant. I want to marry Aftermath and make him my husband as soon as possible.” I open the Pinterest app on my phone. “Besides I already have the wedding dress picked out, I’m going to ask Jezebelle to cater the food and I want you to be my Maid of Honor.”

I show Nadia the dress I have picked out. It’s a simple white gown that’s strapless and only goes to the middle of my thighs in the front, and long in the back that can wrap around my thighs when needed. I also found a pair of black strappy high-heeled sandals to match. When Nadia doesn’t say anything, I turn my attention to her instead of my phone. Her eyes are huge and her mouth is opening and closing like a fish out of water. “What’s wrong?”

Matthew’s little hand slaps the side of Nadia’s face. Good thing he did it so I didn’t have to. She shakes her head, her long blonde hair moving with it. “What?” she asks once she snaps out of her stupor.

“What?” I parrot back, confused.

“What did you ask me?” Matthew grabs Nadia’s hair and pulls. She gently tugs his hand away.

“I asked you to be my maid of honor. So, will you do it?” I raise an eyebrow and stare at Nadia like she’s lost her mind. “Did you hit your head or something?”

A few patch bunnies come strolling into the kitchen snickering about something, but I don’t pay them any attention. Pearl comes in behind them and offers a small smile to Nadia and me. The three of them grab some food and sit down at the island, their backs to us.

“Why would I hit my head?” Nadia asks.

“Cause you’re acting weird.” I scrunch my nose. “Are you surprised I asked you? If you don’t want to do this, I’m not going to be offended.”

“I’m shocked that’s all. I…I didn’t…” Nadia’s face turns as red as her Ol’ Man’s.

“It’s OK, Nadia. You don’t have to be my maid of honor. I thought we were best friends. I mean,” I trail off not wanting to finish this sentence but know I need to. “You’re the only female I’ve been this close to. I’ve had friends, yes, but nothing like what you and I have.”

A tear trails down Nadia’s cheek and she wipes it away. “I would be honored to do this with you.”

“Yay! I’m so excited!” I squeal jumping up and down. Matthew laughs at his Aunty Kensi acting like a psycho.

“What’s going on in here?” Danyella asks as she and Monica enter through the swinging doors.

“I’m getting married!” I shout.

One patch bunny chokes on her food and spins around on her stool. The look of pure hatred crosses her face. I don’t even remember her name so she isn’t relevant to me. Pearl looks genuinely happy for me and my heart soars knowing Pearl, a complete stranger, is happy for me.

“That’s so exciting!” Danyella squeals. “Where’s the ring? When did he propose?”

“When’s the big day?” Monica asks.

“Who’s going to be in your wedding?” Danyella pipes in.

“Are you going to do it here at the Clubhouse?” Monica chimes in.

I’m trying to keep track of all their questions. With a smile on my face, I answer them while holding out my left hand. “Aftermath proposed last night, I want a New Year’s Eve wedding at the beach with just the Royal Bastards MC, no patch bunnies.” I see the smile on Pearl's face drop. “With the exception of one.” I wink at her and she drops her head, hiding her beautiful smile so the petty bitches don’t notice. “I want my dad there and Nadia is going to be my maid of honor. I don’t know who Aftermath is going to ask to be his best man, but I assume it’ll be Red.”

“A New Year’s Eve beach wedding! I absolutely love the idea. Do you have your dress? What about food? Flowers? All the necessities of a wedding? Girl both Monica and I are here to make this the best day of your life.” Danyella’s excitement is contagious. “Oh! I know, we can have Jezebelle’s company cater the food and Daisy can handle the flowers.”

“I already have an idea of the dress I want.” I pull out my phone and show them.

“Oh, I know where we can get this or one similar.” Monica chimes in. If anyone knows anything about shopping, it’s Monica. “I will make an appointment to get you in and find your dream dress.”

“I want Naomi and Mara Jean as my flower girls and Jaxson as my ring bearer.” I chime in.

“Done.” Monica sets her phone down. “Our appointment is at one p.m. tomorrow. Do you know what Aftermath and his best man are going to wear?”

My head is spinning with all this information. I’m still wrapping my head around the fact I’m getting married and so much is being planned already.

“Danyella and Monica, quit.” Aftermath’s deep baritone voice hits me right in the chest. “You’re overwhelming my tiger and she’s going to claw your eyes out.”

I attempt to hold in a laugh at Monica and Danyella gaping at Aftermath but fail miserably. Aftermath wraps me in his arms, kisses the side of my head and then glares at the girls. “The only clawing I’ll be doing is to your back.” I counter.

A shudder runs through Aftermath’s body and he holds me tighter. “Promise?”

“Promise, but later. Right now, the girls are planning our wedding. Do you know who you’re going to ask to be your best man?” I turn my head so I’m staring into Aftermath’s eyes.

“I do, but I still have to ask him.”

“So, go do it while we,” I point to the ladies with me, “plan our wedding.”

Aftermath kisses me one more time before letting me go. “Ok, Tiger, but when I get back…”

“I will claw anything you want.” I wink at Aftermath and he growls.

“Not helping, woman.” Aftermath leaves the kitchen and the four of us take a seat in the nook nestled in the corner.

Jezebelle, Derange, Torch, Daisy and their kids come into the kitchen. Jezebelle and Daisy head right for us, while Derange and Torch wrangle their kids to eat some breakfast. “What’s going on?” Daisy asks.

I hold my left hand out and wiggle my fingers. “I’m getting married and Nadia is my Maid of Honor.”

Before I can continue, Danyella chimes in, “We’re helping her plan everything. Want to help?”

“Of course we do,” Jezebelle answers. She and Daisy take their seats and we plan all the details we can for hours. We eventually move to the common room where there is more room. Jezebelle’s son and an RBMC Prospect, Seth, brings us drinks all day long without question. A few times, someone comes up and congratulates me or hugs me. People come and go all day while the six of us plan the best wedding ever.

I still can’t believe I’m getting married in less than two months. It’s surreal that I found the man of my dreams after everything I’ve been through and we are going to start our lives together. Could anything get better than this?
