Epilogue

Two years later

“Good morning, baby.” Blair’s sleepy voice awoke me from my dreams, and I couldn’t have been more okay with it.

My reality was better than any dream could be.

The way she called me baby always made my heart skip a beat, but when it was in that sexy, early-morning sweet tone, I might as well have still been dreaming.

She peppered my neck with soft kisses as she caressed my shoulders and back, sending shivers through me. I couldn’t help but smile when I turned over and saw her naked body so close to mine.

“Morning.” I grabbed her chin and brought her in for a soft kiss.

“How did you sleep?” She asked me that every morning, as if the answer could ever change.

“With you in my arms? Perfectly.”

It had been six months since Blair had moved in, and she still hadn’t explored every part of the house. We had been rather… preoccupied with getting her acquainted with our room, all three showers, the pool, and even the patio.

She was insatiable, and I wasn’t any better.

After a long day apart, we would barely make it to the room most nights.

My housekeeper learned to knock on any door before she entered.

Voyeurism wasn’t our thing, and it made both of us uncomfortable and embarrassed at the thought of being caught, but we couldn’t help it sometimes.

The need was too intense, even after two years of being together.

“You know you say that every morning. I’m starting to think you are just trying to get on my good side.” She smirked.

“Is it working?” I hissed when she pinched a nipple. I wasn’t sure why she thought that of all things would be a punishment. It made me want to act out even more.

“Maybe.” She was lying on me, drawing idle circles across my chest while I squeezed her tightly and kissed the top of her head. I never wanted to leave this bed.

A throbbing sensation began between my thighs as I felt something wet and cold on one nipple and a flicking motion on the other. Her tongue had a way of getting my body to react in a severe way. Even if it wasn’t touching a sexual place, it always felt like it was.

“Baby… you know what that does to me.” I moaned as she continued her sucking and flicking motions on my now even harder nipples.

She didn’t respond. Instead, she moved her hand down, feeling exactly what it did to me.

I took in a breath when her fingers made contact with my clit.

Even after all this time of being with her, I could still get turned on just from looking at her, especially in moments like these when we were at our most vulnerable.

I moaned softly as she inserted two fingers into me while rubbing my clit with the pad of her thumb. She knew we couldn’t lay lazily in bed all morning. She knew we had somewhere to be, and she wasn’t wasting any precious time.

I was on the edge of coming undone, and I groaned in protest when she slowly pulled out of me, but it quickly died off when she brought her hand to her mouth and took in those fingers, sucking and licking them erotically.

“I love you,” I whispered as I kissed her so fiercely, tasing myself on her lips. The action was filthy yet so sweet and intimate.

“I love you too, but I’m going to fuck you like I don’t. Get on your hands and knees, baby,” she whispered. Music to my fucking ears. If I was wet from her touch before, I was soaked from her promise. It wasn’t a threat.

Blair did anything she set her mind to and if she said she was going to fuck me, then by God, I was getting fucked. But you would never hear me complain. It wasn’t often that Blair became the dominant one, but when she did, I never took it for granted.

I expected her hands to find their original position, or her mouth. Hell, I would have even expected her own pussy to find mine, but out of all the possibilities, I wouldn’t have ever expected my favorite strap to find its way into me.

It was my favorite because it was the first one I had ever used on Blair. The memory of her naked and bent over my desk still played in my mind when she wasn’t around, and sometimes when she was. But this was a first.

“Do you know… how fucking perfect… you are?” I said in between desperate breaths.

Desperate to come, but desperate for it to never end.

This vision of her wearing a strap, gripping my hips as she pounded into me—I was moments away from crumbling into the earth.

I now understood why she loved this position so much.

“God, you look so good like this, Dre.” Hearing those words was all it took for me to tumble over the edge.

“Don’t stop, Blair. Shit!” I screamed as my orgasm tore through me, but she never faltered, even when her own orgasm followed mine and her thrusts became irregular as she moaned out in pleasure.

After the hardest orgasm of my life, I dropped onto the bed, limp and breathless.

“Goddamn, baby. You never cease to amaze me,” I breathed as she crawled back into bed, snuggling up to me and kissing my neck gently.

She smiled, and I wanted to capture it forever. “I’m not sure what I love more, getting fucked from behind by you, or seeing the cock move in and out of you.”

I kissed her hard, whining when she broke us apart. We were going to be late if we kept at it, and I had every intention to keep going if she didn’t stop me.

After we took the longest shower—partly my fault because I loved eating her out in there—we finally made it to the bookstore.

We had been closed for months while the renovations finished up. Business had been doing better after my accident. Maybe people felt sorry for a business owner who almost died, but I wasn’t looking a gift horse in the mouth.

When we got there, Kaia was already opening up, of course. Since becoming co-owner, she had really grown into the role. She took her job seriously, and sometimes I had to be the one to tell her to relax. Not that she listened. If your name wasn’t Daisy, you might as well be talking to a wall.

Their friendship had really grown over the past year.

Daisy was at the store every day, and once a month she got paid for it.

When Kaia had demanded I hire someone to teach sign language, I didn’t have to ask why, but I had given her the go-ahead to hire whoever she saw fit.

I shouldn’t have been surprised when Daisy showed up on the day of the first class.

“There you are! We thought you two weren’t going to show!” Fallon smirked from the counter where Rylee was stocking up beside her.

Rylee still bartended on the weekends, but she had quit Brewed Awakening without a second thought when I asked her to come work at the store.

I didn’t hesitate when Blair had the idea to offer her the opportunity to run her own café.

It probably helped that I offered her double what she was making, which let her work more on her photography business, but I liked to think she did it out of the kindness of her heart, not her wallet.

“Of course we made it. We just got a late start this morning.” I winked at Blair and smirked at the reddening of her perfectly soft cheeks.

“Oh, I’m sure you did.” Mackenzie came out from the back, holding a box of receipt paper, a furry friend by her side.

“Is she causing you trouble, Milo?”

“Hardly. She treats him like our child.” Fallon shook her head.

Two months after Blair had moved in, I had Marcus help with the arrangements to adopt Milo. I knew Blair adored him, and I adored her, so it was a no-brainer.

“He is! Our godchild, anyway. Besides, it’s good practice for the future.” She smiled and kissed her wife’s forehead.

It was still surreal to say that I had two married best friends, one thinking about children and the other one…

“Isn’t that the truth? I’ve been getting my steps in, taking him for walks all the time. At this point, this baby is going to be walking out of me,” a very pregnant Penelope added from the couch.

Milo walked over and positioned himself at her feet, settling there. Penelope and her husband, Greg, were expecting a baby girl in four months, which was insane!

The past two years had been a whirlwind. A lot of good moments and a lot of bad ones. Losing Blair being one of the worst, alongside my accident. I learned how short life can really be, and I promised myself to make the most of it.

I didn’t even think about it when I asked Blair to move in.

After not being with her, I never wanted to have that feeling again.

I needed her, and I needed her close. She still worried sometimes when I got sick or hurt, but I couldn’t fault her for being protective.

If the roles were reversed, I would never let her out of my sight.

Since Kaia had taken over half the company, it gave me more time to experience life, and the love in it. I had even traveled out of state for a few days to go to signings or other literary events with Blair, something I would have never done before, but I never had to try with Blair.

“So who drove here?” Cara sat up from the couch next to Penelope and grinned.

Our friendship was finally back to the way it had been.

I still owed her about three hundred dollars worth of meals, but a few bottles of wine had certainly helped.

She came over about once a month for dinner before helping herself to our hot tub.

Blair insisted on cooking every time, even though I kept telling her that we had a chef for a reason.

“Drea did today. I was too…” She looked at me and the redness of her cheeks deepened to a crimson, and I tried to suppress a chuckle. She was so unbelievably adorable when she got flustered. “Tired.”
