“Your Majesty, you’ve been out here for three hours. I think you should eat something,” Lutin weaves a careful mix of concern and formality into his words. There’s a faint crease of worry in his brow as he watches me wave goodbye to George.
The thought of food sends a wave of nausea through me, twisting my stomach into knots. Everything tastes different since Maxon was taken. The once-appealing flavor of sweets now holds no allure for me.
“Okay, you’re probably right. Besides,” I continue with a faint grin, “I should probably save Tristan and Kian from my friends.”
At this, Senka and Lutin exchange confused looks.
“Faerie is in for a shock with those two,” I add as I start walking toward the castle.
Tristan thought I was trouble. Oh, he has no idea.
