24. Adrianna #3

"You might not think so, but you will listen to me." Kincade's voice raises above the bar noise. Everyone has their cell phones out, probably recording the whole thing. Luka turns me back around, and I watch as Tucker's face pales.

"Coach. It isn't what it looks like." Tucker starts stuttering his words.

"I am sure it's exactly what it looks like.

Not only have you threatened your Captain and Goalie, but you also just threatened someone on our staff.

You will get your shit and get to the hotel.

You might want to call your agent while you are at it.

As for you three." He points to Tucker's brothers.

"You better get lost before I call the cops.

" The four of them walk to the exit. Kincade doesn't take his eyes off them until they close the door behind them.

"You two." He points to Jake and Luka. "Get your dinner over with as soon as possible and get to the hotel.

" They both nod at him. "Adrianna, are you okay? " I am shocked he knows my name.

"Yes, sir. Thank you." I tighten my hold around Luka's waist.

"Dean is fine, Adrianna." He places his hand on my shoulder. "Are you sure they didn't hurt you?"

"If you want me to call you Dean, then you need to call me Addy. And no, they didn't hurt me. I am fine. Thank you. I am sorry this happened. I know it will be all over the news."

"That is what Madison is for." He smiles at her, but then gives her a scolding look. "But don't you ever put yourself between two men." He points a her causing her to look down.

"Sorry, Kincade." She kicks her shoe against the chair leg.

"Come on, Mads, you are with me. Let's take care of Tucker's tab and get some food to go so we can take care of the fallout before it hits social media." He places his hand on her lower back and escorts her to the bar, where they talk with Bailey.

"What the heck was that all about?" Penelope is the first one to break the silence as we wait for the rest of our food.

"He said Luka stole his spot," I say and Luka looks at me. I hate the look in his eyes. "I don't believe him." I pat his hand. "He said that because of your name, you got to stay in Chicago, and someone lost his spot. I don't know what happened to him. His brother just said he was gone."

"Tucker's brother," Jake says as he picks at the appetizers on the table.

"Yeah, that's who said it, Tucker's brother." I looked at him like he was dumb. Was he not listening to a word I said?

"No, Tucker's brother is the one he was talking about.

He was a Goalie. Supposed to sign on with the Mustangs and play with Tucker.

Before, Luka got on Kincaid's radar. As soon as Kincade saw Luka in the crease.

There was no way he was signing Tucker's brother.

Luka is a beast. The best in the league and his young age is just a bonus.

" Jake leans back in his chair. "I guess I could see how Tucker could see you taking his brother's spot, even though it isn't true.

Kincade was looking at signing anyone except Tucker's brother. "

"How many brothers does the asshole have?" My brother pipes up. He has been quiet since Bailey came over and whispered something to him. I am assuming it has something to do with the manager giving us dirty looks.

"I'm not sure. But last I heard, his brother was fine.

He didn't get signed this year, but they bumped him down to the AHL to keep him playing and were planning on opening him up for trade next season.

" Jake stands. "I am going to take the rest of my food to go.

I want to go talk to Coach and try to find out what I can about his brother. " Luka looks at me and I nod.

"Hey, Jackson. We are going to take off back to the hotel. Is that okay? I am sorry dinner turned out like this." I lean my head on his shoulder.

"Yeah, sis, that is fine." He kisses the top of my head and we all stand. Luka lets our waiter know we will be taking our food to go and he pays for everything. Before we leave, he slips some money to the store manager, extra for our waiter and Bailey. He doesn't think I see him do it, but I do.

"I am going to hang out here and make sure Bailey gets home okay after her shift. Call me when you make it home tomorrow, okay?" He wraps his arms around me and I squeeze him tight. I miss seeing my little brother.

"Will you come and visit me in Chicago?"

"Maybe when it warms up. It's cold as shit there now." He laughs and kisses my forehead. "Please be careful." He turns to Luka and shakes his hand. "Take care of her, yeah?"

"With my life." Luka wraps his arm around my shoulder. "I will get you two tickets to the Stanley game when we go this year."

"Are you serious? That would be awesome! Who should I take?" My brother looks at me with a massive smile on his face. "Squish, wanna go to another hockey game with me?" He hugs Penelope.

"She has a ticket." Is all Jake says.

"Figured." My brother laughs.

"Man, if I were you. I would take Bailey." Luka winks at him as we walk away.
