Adrianna

The next day is hell. Luka is arguing with Jake and me when we tell him he can't go to practice.

Winning the conference took him out yesterday.

There were press conferences and pictures that had to be taken, so I was surprised his family was still waiting for us when we left.

His Ma waited with Pen and me in the hall with the kids, but I thought everyone else had left.

"Have a great day, Husband. Be careful." I turn to grab my purse, and Luka's arms wrap around me, and he presses his head into my neck. I lean back into him.

"I love you." He whispers.

"I love you, too."

He lets me go and looks around the apartment. "Find us a new house today. Something our kids can grow up in. With a yard or something. I want something that is ours." He kisses my cheek and walks out the door.

Sure, I will just pull the perfect house out of thin air.

An hour later, I walked into the perfect house. It is a couple minutes away from Luka's family. I don't know how they all got land around each other, but it has to be fate that this house is for sale and so close to them. The only downfall is that the couple I am showing it to loves it also.

"Look, our kids can learn to swim in the pool and how to play football in the big yard." The husband motions to the most beautiful backyard I have ever seen.

"I don't know. Do we really want something this big? What if we don't have kids?" The wife asks as she looks through her phone. "Maybe we should look at the penthouse in town until we know if we want a family or not."

"I thought you wanted kids? We talked about this.

" He lowers his voice and takes her by the elbow.

I turn and walk back into the house, allowing them a couple of minutes to talk it over.

When they come back in, I am pulling up penthouses in the large kitchen.

"Do you know if Coleman has any penthouses in town we can look at? " The husband's voice sounds crushed.

"I actually have two you can look at this afternoon if you like?" He looks at his wife and she nods.

"Sure, let's go." He takes her hand and we walk out of the house.

I pull out my phone and text Callum. I know he is the family lawyer, so I hope he can help me.

Me:

Hey Callum, it's Addy. I am wondering if you could help me with escrow paperwork for a house?

Callum Rizzoli:

First, I know it's you. Second, what is the address of the house? I will get it done for you.

Me:

Thanks. I can send you the funds for it. I will send you the information and get Coleman to connect with you for the sale.

Callum Rizzoli:

You are a Rizzoli now; I don't want your funds. I will text Coleman.

Me:

I don't want your family's money, Callum...

Callum Rizzoli:

That is between you and your new husband...

I pull out my phone and call Coleman.

"Hey, I am showing the Walters the penthouses on 6th Street."

"I thought you were showing them the place outside of town?" He starts typing on his computer. I am sure he is checking the email he sent me.

"Yeah, they hated it. Well, the wife did. I think they have two different ideas about how their life is going to go."

I hear him sigh, "I understand that. Okay, I will mark that you are going there; your code should work on the doors."

I hear him start typing again. "Callum Rizzoli is going to call you," I tell him.

He stops typing, "Why?"

"Because I want to buy the house the Walters didn't want. He is going to send you over all the paperwork."

"You loved it? I knew you would the second I was sending you there." He laughs into the phone. "The twins are going to love that pool."

He isn't wrong. "I promise I will watch them like a hawk."

"Okay, I will get in contact with Callum. Congrats, Addy."

"Thanks, Coleman."

I am pulling into the apartment building's parking garage when my phone pings with a text.

Husband:

I miss you... did you sell the house?

Me:

Did you change your contact name?

Husband:

Well, I figured Luka Rizzoli wasn't a good contact name for your husband. Did you sell the house?

Me:

I did. They didn't want it. I am showing them penthouses now. The house was too big for her. She doesn't sound like she wants kids. You want kids, right?

I wish we would have had this conversation before I told him I would marry him. I just assumed he would want kids because of how he is with his family.

Husband:

I do. I want a ton of kids with you. If you didn't sell the house to them, who did you sell it to?

Me:

Surprise!

Husband:

That is great! I can't wait to see it. Send Callum the information; he will take care of it. When do you want to move in? Can I see it tonight?

Me:

I can take you there tonight. I am not sure when we can get moved in. Maybe a month?

Husband:

We can get moved in whenever you want. You want moved in tonight? We will make it happen.

Me:

You are crazy. How is practice? How are you feeling?

Husband:

I am okay. I am going to come home early. I miss you.

I know he is full of it. He is hurting, or he wouldn't be coming home early.

I walk in to show the Walters the first penthouse, which the wife loves, and they buy it.

I walk into Luka's an hour later, and he is sitting on the couch waiting for me.

Before I can ask him how he is feeling or get him to bed, he stands up. "Let's go see our new house, Baby."

I drive us to our new house. Luka is excited that it is close to his family and loses it when he sees the big pool and yard.

The next couple of days go by in a blur. Luka is getting stronger and stronger and stays at practice longer and longer.

Then, they start their seven-game run to the cup.
