6. Catching Up #3
Which makes eating down here twice as unbearable since I want the privacy of my room to sit down and talk about everything that has happened lately. Yes, we debriefed with the Leaders, but we haven’t debriefed with ourselves, and it’s causing me this unbearable discomfort.
‘Rezzi-bear, are you okay?’ Lynx asks, leaning back in his chair and plopping his arm onto the back of mine to slowly run his fingers up and down my neck.
‘Yeah!’ I snap. ‘Why do you ask?’ I give him an exasperated look.
‘Because you’ve been scratching at my leg for the past ten minutes and I’m sure you’ve clawed it raw.’
Sure enough, my hand is nervously itching my leg, or what I thought was my leg. Instead, it’s Lynx’s.
‘Oops, sorry, Lynx.’ I give him a meek smile as I remove my hand.
‘I guess I’m just irritated by everything.
We haven’t had a break, and I’m tired. We’ve gone from one Hell to literally Hell, and then back to another shit hole.
And now, I’m worried about Levi and what the fucking Harpy bitch has done to my man.
’ I sigh, leaning my head onto his shoulder.
Commotion at the front doors has me jerking up as students run into the room, some with worried expressions and others with glee. What is going on now?
“I swear if that human trash can is within the vicinity of my man, I will rip her fucking head off,” Emer shrieks.
Ah, speak of the Devil, and you hear her shriek. Oh, wait, I’ve met the Devil and actually like him, and I wouldn’t diss Lucy like that.
As Emer’s heels slam down on the tile floor, her lap dogs follow with their tails between their legs, and I take in their appearance.
Her group doesn’t look at all like they faced a Demon from Hell or even had a paper cut while doing their last school assignment.
Hell, they look like they came straight from the spa.
I wasn’t lying when I told Lynx I’m tired, but deep down, I’m also fucking pissed.
I’m livid that this bitch is still messing with me and what is mine.
Didn’t anyone ever teach her manners and tell her not to fuck with other people?
She’s about to fuck around and find out.
I’ve been nice up until now, even our physical fight in Ley line Origins class on my first day was going easy on her.
Taking a deep breath, I slowly let it out as I stand and face her with a bored expression.
My heart swells as I feel small squeezes at my back as my guys, one by one, stand behind me, backing me and allowing me to stand at the front, addressing the Queen Harpy.
Even my little man, Reaper, is growling at my feet as my little protector.
She gets within arm's length of me and stops, looking me over, and her nose wrinkles in disgust.
“I don’t know how you did it, but Levi is mine, and I want him back in my possession,” she growls, not at all keeping her voice down.
How embarrassing, putting her laundry out there. I might as well help her air it all out, right?
“Damn, I’m sorry,” I say condescendingly.
“I don’t know what lie you came up with for your coerced sham wedding ceremony that you had to cancel.
But I’m sure it wasn’t the truth; that you had a runaway groom on your hands.
” I smirk, watching her pupils widen slightly at my audacity.
“But to come here and demand to take back your possessions only makes you guilty of kidnapping a prince today, and the Second of the Elverson Clan wouldn’t have done that, right, Emer?
I’m pretty sure holding someone at knifepoint doesn’t mean they’re there willingly, hmm?
Wouldn’t that be a breach of a peace treaty or something?
Forgive me, I’m a little rusty on Supernatural government, considering I skipped a few classes,” I mock.
Emer slowly turns red in embarrassment as she leans in and lowers her voice so only I can hear her. “I wouldn’t push your luck, Nerezza. I know what Angel gave you, and I know what it does to your so-called powers.” She sneers as she stands tall, looking down on me.
Every extremity in my body feels like a live wire is coursing through it, making my muscles tense and on edge. I wish this Harpy Bitch would just shut the fuck up. Because of her and her delusions, I no longer have the capabilities to develop said magic, and she will pay for it.
“That’s where you’re mistaken, Emer,” I spit back through clenched teeth. “I don’t need magic to fuck you up.” I pull one of my glaives and activate it so the extended blade comes within a hair’s whisper of her throat.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” a smoky male’s voice chills across my body, causing my arm holding my glaive to break out in small goose bumps. “What’s with the tension in this room, ladies? I can practically cut it with my voice.”
“Shit. Jules is here,” I hear JP curse under his breath.
“Who’s Jules?” Moni asks the same question I’m thinking.
“One of the top students from Cyanide Conservatory. He’s basically the equivalent of us over there,” JP grumbles.
Retracting my glaive, I turn around and glare at the intruder.
“Well, hello there, gorgeous.” Piercing jade eyes meet mine before my world flashes before me.
