Chapter 26

CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

QUAKE

Since Rommy had time off, and we’d finally come up for air two days later, the first thing she wanted to show us was Ballarat and the family she had there.

When she parked out front of a tattoo shop and climbed out, I undid my seat belt and realised I wasn’t fast enough.

In the next second, Rommy was at my door, opening mine and Eve’s in the back.

“Come on, come on. Texas might have a client, but you can meet Hex and Mon.” She gasped, taking our hands and dragging us towards the front door.

“Maya and Swan might even be here. You’ll love Swan.

She’s such a sweet, shy woman. She’s dating Drake.

His club name is Dragon, and he’s Talon’s youngest boy.

Eve, he’s a twin, too, with his sister, Ruby. ”

Eve smiled. “I haven’t actually met another twin sibling before.”

Rommy nodded. “You will. There’s also Josie, Pick, and Billy’s kids, Payton and Theodore.

And Killer and Ivy have twins too.” She dropped our hands and turned to face us, beaming before she wrapped her arms around our waists, hugging us tightly.

“I can do this. And I can do this….” She went to her toes and puckered her lips at me.

Grinning, I bent and kissed her before she did the same to Eve.

Sliding my hand around Eve’s waist, above Rommy’s arm, I reached out to cup the back of Rommy’s head. “You can do anythin’ you want.”

She cackled. “Oh, pooky, don’t say that to me. You don’t know where my mind can go.”

Smirking, I said, “Bring it on.”

Eve laughed. “You know, I’m down for tying Kayson up so we can both torture him.”

A thrill ran down my spine. “Hell, I like the sound of that.”

Rommy hummed, leaning into us. “I’m already picturing the things Eve and I can do.”

The door behind us opened. “Huh, guess Dodge wasn’t lying,” Texas said. “Instead of gropin’ each other at my entrance, how about you lot come in?”

Rommy spun and launched herself at her brother, who caught her and hugged her tightly.

“Bro, Eve and Quake are here, and they’re mine.”

I moved my arm up to around Eve’s shoulders as we watched Rommy with humour.

This was right.

It felt good.

She was meant to be with us.

And Christ, I couldn’t stop feeling like my body was full to the goddamn brim with happiness.

Two women to love and who will love me back.

“Heard they took you on,” Texas teased. “I’ve got Easton and Lan in the room. Easton’s gettin’ more ink.”

Rommy gasped and shoved her brother out of the way as she ran down the hall.

Texas snorted. “Come on in.”

When we stepped through, a woman behind the counter whistled. “You’re a fucking giant. No wonder you need two women to worship that big body.”

“Fuckin’ hell, Mon,” Texas clipped before calling louder, “Hex, Mon’s droolin’ again.”

A heavily inked guy stepped out of a door close by to stare at us. “Huh, fair.” Then he disappeared again.

Mon cocked a brow at Texas.

He groaned and palmed his face. “Welcome to the mad world.” He faced us and crossed his arms over his chest.

I knew what was coming. I was expecting it.

“My sister is a shining light in what can be a dark world. She’s to be cherished. She ain’t second best. She’s top-tier.”

Eve nodded. “We couldn’t agree more, which is why we were sure about our feelings before coming here.”

I nodded. “We wouldn’t have travelled halfway around the world for someone who doesn’t mean everythin’ to us,” I told him.

Texas eyed us for a beat longer, until a certain devil stuck her head out a door and yelled, “Stop messing with them, bro. Guys, get your cute butts in here.”

Chuckling, Eve and I followed Texas down the hallway and into a tidy and spacious room.

Another guy covered in ink sat on the table while Rommy rested on the armrest of the couch beside another older guy.

Rommy thumbed at him, saying, “This is Lan. On the table is Easton. Lan is a part-time detective and a private investigator too. Easton is a paramedic.”

“Hi,” Easton said with a wave.

“Hey. Eve and Quake, right?” Lan asked.

I nodded. “Yeah, man.”

“We’re dating Rommy,” Eve supplied before her cheeks heated.

“Aww,” Rommy cooed, then skipped over to hug Eve to her. “They’re stuck with me as theirs now.” She kissed Eve quickly and moved over to the table. “Come have a look at what my brother’s doing.”

Texas had just sat down with fresh gloves on, but he pushed his chair back to make room for us.

“That’d have to hurt. Looks great, but the pain, man,” I said when I saw the lion on his shin.

Easton chuckled. “I’m used to the pain now.”

Guessed that was true since every inch of him was practically covered.

“Better get back to it,” Texas said, so Eve and I moved over to the couch. I sat and pulled Eve down on my lap while we talked with Lan. Easton and Texas added in what they wanted to say every now and then too.

After a while, Easton hissed. “Damn that highlighting.”

Texas snorted. “You should know by now it’s the worst part.”

Easton groaned. “I do, but let me complain.”

Lan chuckled. “You wanna tap out, East?”

Easton glared back at him. “No.”

“Just about done,” Texas told him before the gun started buzzing again. “You guys staying in town for a bit?” Texas asked, flicking his gaze up.

Rommy nodded. “I want to for a few days. Got to visit Channa’s, the compound, and Ballarat Wildlife Park.”

“I’m sure Talon will offer some rooms at the compound,” Texas said.

“Rooms? We only need one room, bro.”

“La-la-la, my sister doesn’t do any of that stuff.”

We all chuckled.

“We’ll drop into the compound to visit anyway and see what Talon says,” Rommy suggested.

Texas shook his head. “He ain’t around today. But Griz will probably be there. He’ll let you know. I doubt it’ll be a problem.”

“Cool, cool. I’ll let you know when we find out so we can do dinner one night or something.”

“Sounds good, Rom.” He glanced to me and Eve. “How long you two in town for?”

Shit.

We hadn’t even talked about what the plan was.

“We’re not sure yet,” Eve said.

There was a tap at the door before it was pushed open, and a guy with shoulder-length hair stepped in. He tipped his chin our way as he approached Easton.

“Hey, how’s it goin’?” He dipped and kissed Easton on the lips.

Eve and I swung our gazes to Lan, who smiled while watching the men.

“Highlighting” was all Easton said.

The guy grinned. “You’ve got this.”

Easton waved him away

“Parker,” Rommy called.

He straightened and grinned at her. “Kid, what’s happenin’?”

He walked our way as Rommy announced, “Same old. Except, this is Eve and Quake and they’re mine.”

His grin grew. “Yours, hey?”

She nodded. “Yep. All mine.”

He held his hand out to me, and I shook it. “Where are you two from?” he asked after shaking Eve’s hand.

Only we didn’t answer because he leaned down and kissed Lan too.

Hell, it was no wonder Rommy was comfortable to explore this with us. She’d grown up around more than two people in a relationship. I remembered her mentioning a Josie, Pick, and Billy, but never heard about Easton, Lan, and Parker.

“We’re from Searchlight, Nevada.”

He eyed my cut. “A club?”

“Yeah, the Diamond MC.”

“The ones who helped rescue me,” Rommy said.

“They’re also the club we helped when we took custody of Harred Plank as soon as he stepped off the plane,” Lan supplied.

“Hell, no wonder your names were familiar,” I said. “Thanks for assistin’ the club.”

Parker shrugged. “Always willin’ to help out. But especially for the Hawks brothers.”

The tattoo gun’s buzzing stopped as Texas said, “All done.”

Easton sighed. “Thank God.”

Lan and Parker shared a look with a grin before they went over to their third. Rommy moved onto the couch and squished herself against us. Smiling, I curled an arm around her shoulders, and Eve took her hand to hold on her lap while we watched Lan and Parker admire Easton’s new piece.

When Texas’s phone rang, he glanced at the screen and called, “Rom, grab that. It’s Maya.”

She jumped up to answer it. “Girl, where the heck are you? I thought you’d be here at my brother’s.

Guess what, I have Eve and Quake here with me.

They came all the way to Australia to claim me.

” She beamed over at us and blew us a kiss.

“I should have known you already knew since my brother’s the biggest gossiper out there. ”

“Fuck off. That’d be you,” Texas complained before he went back to talking to the others.

Rommy nodded at something Maya said. “Right, got it. Zara and Talon’s dinner tomorrow night.

Will you and bro be there? … Aww, date night.

That’s cute.” Texas shot her a glare. “Maya, Texas is glaring at me. … She said not to be mean.” He rolled his eyes.

“Are you sure he said it was okay we can stay at the compound? … Okay, thanks, and tell them thanks and we’ll see them tomorrow night.

Love you, bye.” She turned to us. “Dad already talked to Talon, so he knows we’re in town, and we have a room at the compound.

Yay! You’ll both get to meet more people.

” She skipped back over to sit next to us.

“Plus, we’ve been invited to dinner. Mum and Dad will come down for it too. ”

I didn’t tell her we’d already gathered everything from her one-sided conversation. Instead, I said, “Sounds great, little devil.” I kissed her forehead, but she tipped her head back, and I gave her what she wanted by slanting my lips over hers.

“Little devil? That’s a perfect name for my sister,” Texas said with a chuckle.

“I like it,” Rommy said.

“Before you go back to Caroline Springs, you’ll have to come to our place for dinner,” Easton offered.

Rommy gasped. “We’d love to. Easton has so many dogs. Not that we’d be coming just to see them. You know I love hanging out with you. I used to go to their house when I was younger. And Dive and Mena’s… I stayed there a lot. But I also loved going to Beast and Knife’s as well.”

“Sounds like you had a lot of people you could rely on,” Eve said.

“Exactly.” Rommy nodded.

We said goodbye to Easton, Lan, and Parker. While Texas walked them out, I brushed a hand over Rommy’s hair as Eve moved off my lap to sit on Rommy’s other side.

“I’m glad you have so much love and care surroundin’ you, Rommy,” I told her.

“It’s helped me learn to be who I wanted to be.”

“I think it’s amazing,” Eve said, leaning into her. “Kayson had a great upbringing too.”

Snorting, I shrugged. “I wouldn’t say it was great.”

Eve started laughing.

“What?” Rommy asked, looking from me to her.

“My parents are hippies.”

“What’s wrong with that?” Rommy asked.

“Nothing,” Eve said. “They love their sweet little boy so very much.”

“Aww, that sounds cute.”

I sighed. “They’re also nudists.” Rommy’s gaze widened, and she slapped her hand over her mouth.

“When they drop in to the club, the brothers think it’s hilarious to get them drunk and high, which they do a lot in their community, but they always decide it’s a good idea to strip and walk around in front of everyone. ”

Rommy couldn’t hide her laughter. It slipped through her fingers.

“They tried to get Kayson to join them. He went beet red and hid in his room. They’re a really cute couple.”

“Who’d rather be at one with the land and live out in no-man’s land with a bunch of other old people where a hospital is forever away. It’s dangerous.”

Rommy wrapped her arms around one of mine. “You worry. It’s cute. Is there anyone there with a medical background?”

“I wouldn’t know. I love my parents, but I can’t go and visit them when they’re all walkin’ around naked. That shit just ain’t right.”

“I want to meet them,” Rommy said.

Shit.

“I’d love to go visit them, too, Kayson,” Eve added.

Double fucking shit.

I’d give these two the world.

And they already knew it.

Pinching the bridge of my nose, I sighed. “Fine. One year we’ll go see them, but you two will have to lead me around because I’ll be blindfolded.”

“I don’t want to know your kinks,” Texas said as he entered the room again.

The women laughed while I dropped my head back, heat hitting my cheeks. Yet, my smile remained as I was here with Eve and Rommy, and they were both mine.
