Epilogue Two

Nell

It is Valentine’s Day and I have a new deal to make my husband.

We have been married for two years, and it has been the best two years of my life.

Romeo took me all around the world. Our honeymoon lasted three months.

“Baby, come back inside; it is fucking freezing,” he calls from the front door, while walking toward me with a hot cup of herbal tea.

“Moot point, Mr. De Massy. Telling me to come inside while handing me a hot drink and covering me with a blanket.” I tilt my head up to receive a kiss from him.

“I know, but I know how much you love it out here on the porch.” His arm slides across my shoulders, pulling me to him.

I take comfort in his body heat, while we watch some of the animals graze in the field. Romeo built me my dream home. A ranch-style with a full wraparound porch. We own quite a bit of land that we intend to build on in time.

My stomach twists as I get ready to broker a new deal with my husband; it’s not a topic we have fully discussed, but I think he will be happy.

“Romeo.”

“Yes, baby?”

“I would like to make a new deal with you.”

He chuckles, his arm tightening around me. “Oh, yeah? Lay it on me, baby.”

“I would like to have children.”

“Anything you want,” he states with no hesitation.

“What would you say if I added into our deal that the pregnancy needs to be added with an immediate affect?”

His body shifts, and I slowly look up at him as he moves forward to look at me. His gaze drops from my face to my stomach and back again.

“What are you telling me, Nell?”

“I am pregnant.”

He runs both hands through his hair, a smile creeping across his face.

“Holy fuck, I am going to be a father.”

I nod, tears blurring my vision of him.

“I fucking love you, baby. Holy shit.” He pulls me into his lap, taking my lips in a kiss so searing there is no mistaking that he loves me and our future children.

I love this man with all of my heart; he was always meant to be mine.

Little do we know now that a few months later we would find out that we were having twins. We did not find out the gender of the babies; we wanted a surprise.

So when Antino and Amara came into the world, we were flooded with so much love that it made us stronger. My husband is attentive and loving, and I am thankful every day that he found me.

Best book husband ever.
