Chapter Twenty-Six

Viking saw Jinx’s name appear on his phone as he and King went over the items they’d confiscated during their last job.

“We’ll have to authenticate these luxury items,” he nodded toward the crates of bags and other things the wealthy bastard collected.

“Your ole’ lady messaging you?” King asked.

Viking grimaced, then nodded.

“Take a look. You won’t be worth a shit to me if you’re thinking about her.” King moved down to the next shipping container.

They’d left the compound a few minutes after the women, but he hadn’t told Jinx he’d be close. Pulling his cell phone out, he looked down.

“My mom and brother found me. Next door to the shop. HELP!”

“What the fuck? King!” he roared, looking around for the closest exit. He began running before King responded.

“Viking, where are you going?”

“They’ve got Jinx. Call T and find out what the fuck is going on.

” His boots made loud clanging sounds as he ran out of the warehouse.

Looking to the left and right, he found his bike and headed toward it, feeling his heart beating so hard he was sure he’d be a candidate for a heart attack.

He slid his leg over the seat, pushed the start button, and left the warehouse behind.

The sound of several other bikes behind him let him know his brothers were following, but he couldn’t think about them.

Hell, he couldn’t focus on anything except getting to Jinx.

King pulled up next to him, pointing at his helmet hanging from the handlebars.

He watched the thing swinging with each turn and acceleration.

No way did he think he could put it on as he rode.

He jerked his chin, letting King know he was aware he’d fucked up.

Hopefully, they wouldn’t pass any law enforcement.

He roared into the lot behind Twisted Ink, seeing King’s big-ass SUV parked in the far end. He brought his bike to a skidding stop near the bar on the other side, searching for T-Rex. The big man eased out of the door adjacent to the shop where Jinx said she’d been taken.

“I’m sorry, Viking. I should’ve walked her out.” T-Rex didn’t make excuses, but right now, Viking didn’t want to hear anything except if he’d seen or heard anything that would help him get Jinx.

“Where’s Coal?” The man he’d trusted to drive them should’ve been posted near the door, not halfway across the fucking lot.

“He’s not answering. I didn’t want to walk over there in case they could see me from their viewpoint.”

King, Traeger, and Duke fanned out behind him and T-Rex.

The VP nodded toward the Rezvani. “I’m going to check on Coal.”

“Jentzen and Jovi are on their way in case we need a medic. Fuck, how the hell did they find her?”

Viking’s mind spun. “I don’t fucking know, man. We took care when I drove here. I didn’t notice a tag.”

King lifted his chin as Duke disappeared behind the SUV.

“We’ll get our answers when we get Jinx back.”

King lifted his phone and showed Viking a video Tymber had sent him. The images show Jinx stepping outside and, moments later, being ambushed by a man and a woman. He saw the duo follow her inside the space, but he didn’t recognize them.

“We have two brothers guarding the front. What’s the plan?” King asked.

Viking blew out a breath. “I’m going in. Does Tymber have the ability to see when they arrived and who was with them?” he asked.

King shot a text to Tymber, asking the questions while they eased toward the doorway.

Instead of speaking, King showed Viking his cell.

There, in clear view, were the two people who’d grabbed Jinx, arriving a couple of hours after they had, parking next to Coal.

The woman tapped on Coal’s window, gesturing to his car.

As soon as he rolled the window down, she jabbed something into his neck.

“Shit,” he whispered. “We need to find out what they shot him up with.” Viking eyed the screen until the image of Jinx appeared again. He was going to spank her sexy little ass when he got her home.

He stood to the left of the door, his fist clenched by his side. King took position at his back while Traeger and Archer covered the front.

Viking pulled the door open, entering the building swiftly.

His mind spun as he spied a man pressing an older woman against the wall like they were making out.

The pair sprang apart, then froze when he and his brothers filled the space.

Glass shattered from the front of the building, which he assumed came from Traeger or Archer forcing their way inside.

He pulled his Glock, pressing it against the fucker who’d been making out with the old broad’s forehead.

“Who the fuck are you?” From the corner of his eye, he saw the woman reach for something in her bag.

Viking’s left hand swiped a blade from his hip and let it fly, spearing into the wall beside her head.

“The next one will land in your skull,” he warned.

King shifted into her space, removing the bag from her grasp. “I’ll take that. You'd best hope the brother you shot up earlier survives, or you’ll wish Viking over there hit you with that blade. Trust and believe that,” King growled.

“Leave my mother alone,” the man said in a low, raspy rumble.

Viking pressed the barrel harder as he stared down at the man. “Please tell me your name is Benjamin?”

The fucker in front of Viking narrowed his eyes like he had a pair. Viking waited for him to answer, staying quiet, unnerved many.

“I’m not one to yuck on another’s yum, but wasn’t he like making out with his mama when we walked in?

Under normal circumstances, I don’t yuck on someone else’s yum, but I’m definitely yucking right now, just so you know.

” Duke eyed the bag in King’s hand. “I wonder what the fuck she’s got in there? ”

“Viking,” Jinx whispered.

“Stay over there, Vakker. Are you good?” Viking asked Jinx.

“Yes.” Her answer was shaky. There was an undertone of rage in her voice as she spoke to him.

“We’re going to take this situation back to the clubhouse.

Traeger, you got him?” Viking understood what she needed, and he’d give it to her.

He wanted to put a bullet into the bastard’s brains right then and there, but there could be witnesses.

He had to keep his shit together and make smart decisions.

Jinx nodded and bit her lip. Traeger moved around her, giving her shoulder a little squeeze. There was understanding in his eyes. He’d been there before with his own woman at one time. They all, in some way, had come out stronger.

“What do you think you’re going to do with us? Take us back to that property and what? Make us run around wearing leather, singing Rock On?” Jinx’s mother sneered.

Viking gazed over his shoulder, stunned to hear the woman talk without an ounce of self-preservation.

She wore a perfectly pressed dress with low heels and pantyhose that wouldn’t dare to run.

Her hair in some updo he was sure took some time and finesse she’d perfected.

He could imagine Jinx would’ve looked like her if she’d been groomed into the same life in thirty years.

Fuck, he couldn’t picture his woman so cold.

“Bitch, we wouldn’t let you walk around our dump, let alone anywhere we’d allow our family.” King handed her bag to Duke. “See if you can find anything inside.”

“Watch out,” Jinx yelled.

Viking spun back around, catching Benjamin’s flying fist in his hand. His gun went flying. The man’s other fist came flying toward his face, hitting him in the jaw. Knowing he didn’t need to worry about Jinx getting injured, he released Benjamin with a grin.

“You hit like a girl, jackass.” He waved his hand, motioning Benjamin to come to him.

The other man charged, hitting Viking in the abdomen with his shoulder.

He narrowly missed falling on his ass. Twisting their bodies, he turned them to move them further into the space.

His focus narrowed to the fight between him and Jinx’s brother.

The man wasn’t as big or strong, nor as skilled, but he was desperate and angry. That made him dangerous.

“I’m going to fucking kill you, then I’ll fuck my little sister. She stopped me before I could take Clair, but now that you’ve made her into a whore, she’ll be perfect for me.” Benjamin bit the words out of his mouth.

“Shut the fuck up,” Viking snapped at him.

He plowed his elbows down, hitting into the center of Benjamin’s back.

The move made him release his grip, and Benjamin fell to the ground.

Before Viking could grab him, the other man rolled to his feet.

In his hands, he held a knife. The steel glinted from the sun coming in through the front of the store’s windows.

Viking blocked out the whimper he recognized as Jinx's. Traeger would be holding her while his other MC brothers gathered to ensure shit didn’t go south.

His heart skipped a couple of beats, knowing his woman would be watching him kill her brother.

He’d wrap his head around that situation at a later date, make her forgive him, accept that side of him, and his life.

A vision of her beautiful body lying beneath his gave him the strength to shove all thoughts but the here and now aside.

“The only thing you’re going to be fucking is dirt, you little prick.

You’re going to die with the memory of the last pussy you got a taste of was the one you slipped out of at birth.

If that ain’t nasty, then I don’t know what is.

” Viking jumped as Benjamin lunged. He snagged the wrist holding the knife, twisting it back toward him.

“You don’t know anything,” Benjamin snarled. Sweat beaded on his brow.

“What I know is that you’re not walking out of here.” He grunted, shoving the knife into Benjamin’s chest. With a savage thrust, Viking tugged the blade downward. “Too bad you chose to do this here. I was going to let Jinx have a few hits before you took your last breath.”

The sound of plastic rustling made him look up. He met Archer’s eyes as the other man placed a blue tarp behind Benjamin. His brother took Benjamin from him, laying him down, doing what he could to keep the blood contained within the tarped area.

Viking’s attention swiftly focused on Jinx. Her eyes were on him, not the still form of the man on the ground. A wail filtered into the space.

“Shut her the fuck up,” King growled.

“On it.” Duke slammed his Sig Sauer into the woman’s temple.

Viking took the towel Archer tossed at him, wiping the blood from his hands before moving toward Jinx.

“Baby, I’m sorry—” he began, holding his arms out to his side.

He didn’t want to show her the darker side of his life, at least not so early in their relationship.

Fuck, if she decided his life wasn’t for her, he’d lose his shit.

She couldn’t do that to him. He wouldn’t allow a little thing like him taking out her biggest enemy and threat to scare her away.

His eyes held hers, and Viking suddenly understood the truth of what it meant to know real fear, when he could lose the one thing that meant more to him than anything else in the world.
