Chapter 16
M y cock remains rigid and buried deep inside her as I carry her over to the bed and sit myself on the edge of it.
“Now we can talk,” I tell her, lifting my hand up to brush away the hair that stuck to her sweat-coated cheek. I like how she looks when she’s all flustered and thoroughly fucked.
“You wanna talk like this?” She looks down to where we’re still joined, and I reach around her hips, grab an ass cheek in each hand and squeeze as I push her tighter against me.
“Can’t think of a better way.” I smile.
“You really are scared I’ll run.” She rubs her lips together and focuses all her attention on mine. It’s hot as sin, and far too distracting. The look I give tells her that I know what she’s doing and she needs to quit.
“Fine, you start.” She rests her forearms over my shoulders and waits patiently.
“How about you start? You were the one throwin’ eyes at me across the room tonight,” I point out.
“Only because you felt the need to tell me that you didn’t sleep with that club whore, which by the way, wouldn’t have mattered to me at all.”
“Holy shit.” I shake my head, and the sarcastic laugh I make has my cock twitching inside. “It mattered. I saw those sad little eyes when I left with her, they were what made me change my mind.” I lay it out for her, because it’s hopeless holding back. I don’t intend on going back to the other side of the line we just crossed.
“What if it did matter? What difference would it make? You're still my brother's best friend, and this is still wrong.” She closes her eyes as if she’s about to cry.
“Hey… Hey.” I take one hand off her ass and rest it on her cheek. “Does this feel wrong?” I ask her.
“No.” She makes a cute little smile that I just have to touch with the pad of my thumb. Why am I so obsessed with her lips? “But that doesn't make it okay. If Aaron found out he’d go crazy, and he’d be hurt. Especially now with all the anger he’s got for the Reapers. And let's be honest, Ruck, me and you. We hate each other.”
“I don’t hate you right now.” I smile at her, sliding my hand down to her throat and using my hold to drag her on to my lips. This time I kiss her the way she deserves to be kissed, and it should confirm that I don’t hate her at all.
“Maybe not right now, but we can’t last a day together without being at each other's throats. This may feel good in the moment, but you and I would never work. It’s not worth risking your relationship with Wrath, and I’m just coming out of something that was real heavy… and…”
“Relax, darlin’, I wasn’t gonna ask you to be my old lady. It’s just that I…” I have to try and save some face here, because as much as I love my fuckin’ brother, right now I’d risk anything to be with her.
“You like how this feels,” she finishes my sentence for me. “And I do too, I like it a lot, maybe we could just keep it at this and keep it secret.” She shrugs at me awkwardly.
“You askin’ me to be your fuck buddy, Princess?” I laugh at the idea.
“What’s so funny? To me it makes perfect sense. We can’t deny that there’s something sexual between us, and it’s…” She stops and her cheeks flush a little pinker.
“Go on,” I encourage her to finish.
“Well it feels good. Really good, actually.” She shocks me when she sounds a little giddy. “I think we can do this without anyone getting hurt. We just have to be careful, and not catch any feelings.”
This should probably be the time that I tell her it’s a little late for that, but pride has always been my weakness and so, I nod in agreement.
“So this arrangement, is it exclusive?” I check.
“It doesn't have to be, we’re not in a relationship, it’s not fair of us to make demands of each other.” The way she holds her head a little higher suggests she’s got a few she’d like to make despite what she says.
“That's where you’re wrong.” I shake my head. “For as long as this arrangement is in place, this pussy is solely mine. No other fucker gets to look, touch, or even think about it.” I push a little deeper inside her to remind her.
“No other fucker around here would be brave or stupid enough to.” The whisper she makes against my skin stirs a little frustration.
“And no more rides from Sinner.” I make that point clear.
“Fair enough.” She nods. “So, I take it you’ll be explaining to your little fan club in the yard that you're gonna be absent from duty for a while.”
“It’ll break a few hearts but, sure.” For her I think I’d agree to just about anything, and that scares the fuck outta me.
“Then we gotta a deal?” She holds out her hand between us and when I look down at it I laugh.
“Baby, that’s not how fuck buddies seal a deal.” Gripping her ass I stand back up and turn around. Then after I lay her on the mattress, her breath holds when I find a new angle inside her.
The way she’s looking at me and smiling makes me fall just that little bit harder, and suddenly I realize that nothing about this is gonna be easy.
I can lie to myself, I’ve been doing that for years. But lying to her, and lying to Wrath is different. I shouldn’t be sealing an arrangement that I know is gonna end in heartbreak… and yet I watch her arch her spine as I sit on my knees and wrap her legs around my hips. I glide my hand over her skin, pushing it up through the center of her body and gripping her throat again. Then she closes her eyes and makes those satisfied little moans, and I realize that the heart that breaks will undoubtedly be mine.
I feel something warm and soft wrapped around me, and when I lick my lips with my tongue I choke on hair and quickly open my eyes.
“Shit.” I realize it’s light outside when I see the sun creeping in through the side of the curtains. I look down and find Freya, naked and lying half on top of me, I haven’t got time to admire how good it looks, I have to get her off me.
“Frey, wake up.” I shake her body, carefully at first, then when I see the time on the clock beside her bed, a little more frantically.
“Freya, you gotta get up, it’s morning.” It’s past nine. By now the yard will be busy, the brothers leaving to meet Cam and his members will be getting ready to go, which means getting out of this room without being seen is gonna be impossible.
“What?” She sounds all cute and sleepy as she stirs. I’d like to roll her on her back and wake her up in a way that’ll keep me in her mind all fuckin’ day, but there ain’t no time for it.
“It’s past nine. We didn’t set an alarm.” I start gathering up my clothes.
“Shit.” She sits bolt upright. “How did you forget to set an alarm?” She screeches at me, quickly rushing to the window and peering through the side of the curtain to check how busy it is outside.
“Did you set an alarm?” I lift my jeans up and search for my belt.
“You're the one who had to be up and out of here.” She picks up a t-shirt from the floor and when she realizes it’s mine she balls it up and launches it at me.
“You're gonna have to go now,” she tells me, finding a shirt for herself and rushing to do up the buttons. “Dev just passed through the yard and went into the clubhouse, but other than that it looks quiet out there.” She waits for me to get my boots and cut on before she starts shooing me to the door, and when she opens it and sees Anita sweeping the balcony, she quickly drags me back inside and slams the door back shut.
“You think she saw you?” she whispers, all wide eyed and full of panic. If I put my hand on her chest, I bet I’d feel her heart beating far too fast, and yet she looks real happy.
“You're having fun,” I mock her, stroking her cheek and sliding the tip of my nose along the side of hers. “You're getting a little kick outta this sneaky shit.”
“I am not.” She swats me hard on the chest and I quickly catch her lips and kiss her. I hope it’s enough to keep me in her thoughts all day, because I already know she’s gonna be in mine.
“So, you're telling me that if I slide my hand into these pretty little panties that you wouldn’t be wet?” I check, and her face gives her away.
“Oh… sweetheart.” I skim my fingertip over the fabric and make her shiver and when I hear Anita’s door slam shut I use my other hand to take a peek from behind the curtain and see that the coast is clear. “It breaks my heart to leave you like this.” I kiss her one more time before I slide out the door and onto the balcony.
“You haven’t got a fuckin’ heart,” she hisses at me before she slams it shut, and I rush down the stairs and move straight to the clubhouse. When I get to the door, I glance back over my shoulder and catch her looking out the window at me.
Maybe the arrangement we made last night ain’t exactly what I want, but it’s a damn good start. I wink at her before pulling open the door, holding the smile on my face… Until I see my best friend and remember that all that happiness I’m feeling, comes at the price of betrayal.
