Ch24 Marked by His Name #4
Yet Rudraksh said nothing. He knew very well that explaining anything to Rivanya in this state would be pointless.
Carefully, making sure no one noticed, Rudraksh brought her into the room through the back door and gently seated her on the bed.
"Stay here," he said. "I'll get you some lemon water."
Saying this, he turned to leave but Rivanya grabbed the sleeve of his shirt. With a soft pout and pleading eyes, she said sweetly,
"Please don't go, Rudra... I don't want to be alone."
Seeing her like that, something inside Rudraksh melted. He sat down beside her and spoke gently,
"I'm just going to get lemon water for you, Rivanya. I'll be back quickly."
But Rivanya tightened her grip on his hand and said stubbornly,
"No... I don't want anything. Please don't go. Just stay."
Faced with her insistence, Rudraksh gave in. He didn't want her to start crying-her expression made it clear that she was already on the edge. In such a state, a person never knows when laughter might turn into tears.
That was why Rudraksh was agreeing to everything she said.
For reasons he couldn't explain, he simply couldn't bear to see tears in Rivanya's eyes.
They could argue, fight, clash endlessly but Rivanya's tears were something Rudraksh could never tolerate. He also knew that most of those tears were caused by him. Yet, bound by his own nature, he was unable to change himself.
Life had wounded Rudraksh so deeply that his heart had turned to stone.
No emotions remained for anyone no sympathy, no softness.
But now... perhaps something very old, very strong, was beginning to crack.
And perhaps
the reason was Rivanya.
In that quiet, still atmosphere, no one knew what suddenly came over Rivanya. She swayed as she stood up, then began to laugh. Just as Rudraksh had thought when a person is completely intoxicated, they no longer know when they are laughing and when they are about to cry.
Rudraksh stood up as well, instinctively moving to steady her, worried that she might fall. But at that very moment, Rivanya grabbed his collar and pulled him toward herself. Completely out of nowhere, she said
"Rudraksh, now you will do exactly what I say... what I want. And what I want right now is for you to open your shirt."
Rudraksh stared at her in shock.
"What?" he said sharply. "What nonsense are you talking, Rivanya? I swear, whatever you're doing right now you're going to regret it deeply tomorrow morning."
Rivanya replied in the same careless tone,
"Who has seen tomorrow, sir? We look at today so that tomorrow can even exist."
Her words made no sense at all. There was no logic in anything she was saying, and even Rudraksh couldn't understand what was going on anymore. All he could think was that by morning, Rivanya would probably forget everything that was happening right now.
But the trouble she was causing him he wasn't going to let that slide so easily.
With that thought, Rudraksh switched on the camera of his phone and placed it on the table. To himself, he thought
Now whatever mischief she creates, I'll have proof. Just let the intoxication wear off once... then I'll show her everything.
So that's it for today's chapter.
