Ch27Marked by Her Fury #2
If that’s true… then why does he do all this just for my happiness?
Hey Gauri Maiya… I really can’t understand this man… sometimes he’s one thing, and the next moment, completely different…
Just then, something struck her mind.
Rivanya said,
“Maa, didn’t Dhara come? Where is she?”
Vasudha replied gently,
“Beta, she has some exams today. She’ll come by tomorrow, don’t worry.”
Rivanya nodded softly.
Then she said,
“You all sit… I’ll call Dev and Raaj. They should come and meet everyone too.”
With that, she turned and walked upstairs, while the rest of the family got busy in their conversations.
Reaching upstairs, Rivanya went to Dev’s room and knocked on the door.
From inside, Dev’s voice came,
“Come in.”
Rivanya entered and saw Dev working on his laptop. Smiling slightly, she said,
“Chote Devar ji, I hope I didn’t
Disturb you?”
Dev immediately stood up upon seeing her.
“Aree Bhabhisa, what are you saying? Not at all! Please come in. If you needed anything, you could’ve just called me.”
Rivanya stepped inside and said,
“It’s nothing like that. My family has come… I came to call you and Viswraaj. You both should come and meet them.”
Dev smiled,
“Wow, Bhabhisa! I’ll come right away. But Viswraaj Bhaisa has gone to the office with Rudraksh Bhaisa… and Vyom Bhaisa went with them too.”
Rivanya looked slightly surprised.
“They all left? I didn’t even realize… anyway, it’s fine. You come with me.”
Dev nodded,
“Yes, let’s go, Bhabhisa.”
And with that, both of them went downstairs together.
That day… the Vardhan Mansion didn’t feel like a cold, powerful mafia house.
It felt like a home.
Laughter echoed through the halls, warmth filled every corner, and for once, the atmosphere was light and joyful. Everyone was genuinely happy sitting together, talking, sharing moments.
And among all of them…
Rivanya was the happiest.
Seeing both her families together under one roof filled her heart with a kind of peace she hadn’t felt in a long time.
In the kitchen, Rivanya, Vasudha, Nani Maa, and Dadi Maa were busy preparing dinner while chatting and laughing softly. Their conversations flowed with warmth, occasionally breaking into smiles and teasing remarks.
Dev, after meeting everyone properly, eventually went back upstairs to his room.
Meanwhile, in the hall, Dadaji, Nanu, Sandeep, and Pratap sat together, engaged in deep yet lighthearted conversations sharing stories, laughter, and unspoken bonds.
For the first time in a long while…
The mansion wasn’t ruled by power.
It was filled with love.
Lost in laughter and warmth, no one even realized when evening quietly turned into night. The house was glowing with happiness, yet amidst all of it, Rivanya’s eyes kept drifting toward the door again and again.
After everything that had happened today, she wanted to be angry at Rudraksh… she really did. But no matter how much she tried, she couldn’t ignore one truth he had called her family here… just for her happiness.
And now, standing at this emotional crossroad, all Rivanya could do… was wait for him.
Just then, her Nanu walked into the kitchen where she was busy.
Rivanya immediately turned and said,
“Nanu, do you need something? You could have just called me, I would’ve brought it.”
Nanu smiled lovingly, placing his hand on her head.
“I just wanted to spend some time with my little princess… will you give me that?”
Rivanya smiled softly.
“Why are you even asking, Nanu? You have every right over me.”
Nanu’s expression turned slightly serious, yet gentle.
“Rivu… I want to ask you something. Will you answer me honestly?”
Rivanya nodded without hesitation.
“Have I ever lied to you, Nanu? Ask me anything… I’ll answer honestly.”
Nanu looked into her eyes and asked,
“Beta… are you happy here? I mean… are you happy with Rudraksh?”
The question caught Rivanya off guard.
For a moment, she wasn’t prepared.
She looked away slightly and said,
“Yes, Nanu… why are you asking like that? I’m very happy here. Everyone is really nice.”
Nanu shook his head gently.
“I’m not asking about everyone, Rivu… I want to know about Rudraksh.
He doesn’t raise his hand on you,
Does he?”
Rivanya immediately looked at him, her voice firm.
“No, Nanu! Rudra is not that kind of person. He would never do something like that. In fact… he never lets anyone disrespect me. He always stands up for me… in front of anyone.”
Nanu listened carefully, then asked the question that truly mattered.
“And what about love, Rivu?”
Rivanya fell silent.
Her lips parted slightly, but no words came out.
Nanu spoke again, softly,
“Say it, beta… love is very important in a husband-wife relationship. Is it there… in your relationship?”
Rivanya took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts.
“Nanu… even a small plant takes time to grow… and this is a relationship. Neither of us agreed to this marriage willingly… but still, we are trying to fulfill our responsibilities. We just need some time… to understand each other… to accept each other.”
Nanu looked at her for a moment… and then smiled.
“Truly… you are your mother’s reflection, Rivu. Her thoughts still live within you.”
After a pause, he asked casually,
“By the way… did you read that letter?”
Rivanya shook her head.
“No, Nanu… I didn’t get time. I’ve been busy with the Shivratri preparations since yesterday. Once everything is done, I’ll read it peacefully. I feel like Maa must have written something for me… maybe about how much she loved me… or something she wanted to tell me.”
Nanu went quiet after hearing that.
“Alright… you continue your work. I’ll go sit in the hall with everyone.”
With that, he left.
Rivanya stood there, her thoughts once again getting tangled.
I can’t let anyone in this house know what kind of relationship Rudra and I share… it will hurt them.
And I need to talk to Rudraksh about this… but why hasn’t he come home yet today?
Thinking this, Rivanya stepped outside.
It was almost 8 PM.
Rudraksh still hadn’t returned.
Normally, this wouldn’t have mattered he often came late. But today… when everyone was home… he should have come early.
Just then, three cars entered through the main gate.
For a moment, Rivanya’s heart lifted thinking Rudraksh had returned.
But as the doors opened… only Vyom and Viswraaj stepped out.
The small spark in her eyes dimmed slightly.
Still, she walked forward and said,
“You both are back.”
Viswraaj nodded,
“Yes, Bhabhisa. We had some important work, that’s why we went to the office today.”
Vyom stretched slightly and said with a playful tone,
“Bhabhi, I’m starving! Your husband made us work so much today.”
Rivanya chuckled softly and said,
“Dinner is ready, Devar ji. Please go freshen up, then we’ll all have dinner together.”
Vyom nodded and replied,
“Alright, come on, Viswraaj.”
Just as the two of them were about to head inside, Rivanya stopped
them and asked,
“Vyom bhaiya… Rudra hasn’t
Come back yet?”
Vyom replied calmly,
“Bhabhi, don’t worry. He’ll be here soon. He said he had a little more work to finish and asked us to leave first. He’ll come.”
Rivanya sighed lightly and said,
“Your brother really loves doing everything the opposite way. Today everyone is at home my mama and mami are here too and today he had extra work? Honestly, he should have married his work instead of me. Then he could peacefully romance his work day and night.”
Hearing this, both Vyom and Raaj burst into laughter.
Raaj added teasingly,
“Bhabhisa, Rudraksh bhaisa’s first girlfriend has always been his work.”
Rivanya puffed her cheeks and said dramatically,
“Yes, that Sadha Aloo (Rotten Potato)… who knows when he’ll finally come.”
Vyom and Viswraaj couldn’t control their laughter after hearing her call Rudraksh a rotten potato. Vyom held his stomach and said,
“Honestly, Bhabhi, you are exactly like my friend both of you have the same level of attitude.”
Raaj, still trying to stop laughing, added,
“True, Bhabhisa. You’re the best. No one else could handle him like you do.”
Rivanya also started laughing along with them, completely unaware that while they were talking, Rudraksh’s car had already entered the mansion… and he was standing to the side, watching everything, his sharp gaze fixed on her.
Suddenly, Rivanya felt a cold breeze, as if someone was staring at her with intense anger. She looked around, but found no one.
Vyom and Viswraaj went inside, while Rivanya stayed back. Just then, she noticed a floral decoration on the nearby wall that was about to fall. She quickly picked up a stool and climbed onto it carefully to fix the flowers.
But before she could steady herself, she lost her balance and slipped.
A scream escaped her lips as she tightly shut her eyes, expecting to hit the ground... but instead, she felt herself being caught in a pair of strong arms.
When she opened her eyes, she saw Rudraksh holding her firmly in his embrace, his face filled with anger. At that exact moment, the loose flower garland fell over both of them together, as if the universe itself was trying to bind them in one thread.
Rudraksh spoke sharply,
“Did you fall on your head as a child? Or get hurt somewhere that affected your brain?”
Rivanya frowned in confusion and replied,
“No… why are you asking that?”
Rudraksh retorted,
“Because only someone with a damaged brain would climb anywhere without thinking like a monkey.”
Rivanya’s eyes widened in anger.
“What did you just call me? A monkey? How dare you!”
Rudraksh said coldly,
“I called you a monkey, and now I’m thinking it’s time to send you to a mental asylum too.”
Rivanya shot back instantly,
“Oh really? And what are you then? A hippopotamus!”
Rudraksh narrowed his eyes,
“What? Hippopotamus? In what angle do I look like one?”
Rivanya crossed her arms and said,
“In every angle. A hippopotamus… who also looks like a Sadha Aloo
(Rotten potato).”
Rudraksh warned angrily,
