CHAPTER THIRTY

After kissing Penny goodbye this morning, I watched her leave in the SUV with Declan who is her designated driver, security cover today.
I have to admit that everyone who has been on Penny duty has done a first-class job.
They’ve taken it seriously and are eager to get their hands on Rosemarie. Well, nearly as much as I am.
Everyone is looking, and I’m surprised Delta hasn’t found her as yet because she’s got more programs running on her system, than you can imagine. Facial recognition from every street cam in town surely should find her soon.
“I’m going to pick up the keys to my house. You comin’, Ruger?”
Bones is walking toward me in the common room of the clubhouse, and I have to say he’s looking smart.
Clean jeans, a white tee, and his kutte looking like he’s given it a clean too.
Now, who is he trying to impress? Penny seems to think he’s got his eye on Scarlett, but looking at him now, maybe his new neighbor Ginny could be of interest?
“Yeah, I can come. I’m helping move stuff in the basement this afternoon.
Seems Arrow and Delta want to add some additional stuff, so we need to slide things around to make more room.
” I follow Bones out and see Jack standing near the front door, leaning on the wall and looking far away in thought.
“Hey, Jack. When I get back you wanna give my girl a wash?” I’m asking rather than ordering because we all are trying to make Jack feel more like family.
“Yeah, I can do that, Ruger.” Jack gives a two-finger tap to his brow as he turns and walks back inside.
“We need to tell the Stooges to cool it with Jack or we’re gonna lose him,” Bones mirrors my thoughts. I give him a nod as I straddle and fire up my girl.
After Bones collects the keys I head out with him to the house he’s just purchased. It’s a damn good place, and I know he didn’t want to live on the compound, so this is an excellent alternative. It’s near the clubhouse in case of emergencies, but far enough to give him privacy.
Following Bones into the house ninety minutes later, I’m amazed at how large the rooms are now that the furniture has been removed. “It’s a nice big place, Bones,” I comment.
“Yeah, and I’ve got some ideas for it. But I’m going to rip shit out of the place. Keep it homey but give it a nice modern twist.”
“Okay, well, you have things set in your mind. You let me know if you need me, and I’m here for you, brother.
I’ve worked construction for a fuck of a long time, so I’ll help in any way that I can.
” I slap Bones' shoulder before following him through the house. He’s mumbling about things he wants done, and how much he estimates it's all going to cost. I leave him to his mumblings and just keep following along.
Two hours at the house, walking around the yard and even waving at Mrs. Lincoln who throws her nose into the air. We’re gonna have to mess with Lincoln about Bones' neighbor being called Mrs. Lincoln, and if he’s related to the stuck-up bitch.
Back at the compound both Bones and I stop and watch BS, who is sweating like he’s been working out hard. Meat comes and stands next to us, giving us a grunt. Buzz hasn’t raised a sweat yet, and the look of disgust on BS’s face causes the three of us to chuckle.
“Come on, BS. If you want Kya to have kids, you need to up your game. You know your swimmers have a long way to swim before they meet the one they’ll cling to,” Buzz chuckles.
“Fuck off, Buzz. My swimmers are swimming just fine.”
“Well, we’ve not seen any babies yet have we?” Buzz pushes.
Snarling, BS spins around and growls. “That’s because Kya is still on the pill asshole.”
“Oh, dear, seems BS is touchy about his swimmers, brothers,” Bones mumbles mostly under his breath.
I nod, and Meat grunts. We three can all see he’s right.
Shaking my head, I leave Meat watching the show.
“I’m going to BaronsSecure Ruger, so I’ll catch you later.
” Bones states as he heads towards his hog.
I give him a nod before turning away.
Walking into the kitchen, I smile at the sight of Amelia rolling out something. Whatever she makes always tastes good, and I love her apple and cinnamon pies. I’m keeping my distance from the rolling pin she has in her hand though, because I’ve seen her swing that a time or two.
“Can I have a quick word, Amelia?”
“Sure you can. You can have two or three words if you like.”
Oh, so we have sassy Amelia this morning, which is better than angry Amelia, so here goes. “I wanted to ask you to take Jack under your wing. He’s finding it hard to settle, and we don’t want him to do a runner.”
Amelia stops what she’s doing and looks at me. Studies how serious I’m being. When she decides she nods. “I can do that. I’ll speak with the other ladies, too.”
Now, I know that’s the best I’m gonna get, and if I push it more, she’ll push back and I’ll not get what I want. “Thank you.” That’s all I say on the matter and walk out to the common room where I blow out the breath I’ve been holding.
“You know you only had to say ease up on the kid, don’t you?” Amelia states calmly and cooly.
I don’t reply because shit, this could get nasty. I make my way to TwoCents room and check that all the payments I had to make were done to the club for the house build. I gave him the go-ahead, so I’m hoping what I have in the bank is now clear for use, because I’ve got a lot of furniture to buy.
Walking out of TwoCents office thirty minutes later, I keep my mouth closed when BS walks past dripping with sweat and looking like he’s about to have a heart attack. “You okay, BS?” I can’t stop myself from asking.
“Fuck off, Ruger,” BS snarls as he passes and heads to his room upstairs.
I’m not sure if I should contact Kya or not, because he looks like he could do with some assistance. Nope, I’ll mind my own business and hope he’ll be okay, but fucking hell, it seems Buzz has really put him through it, and rattled his cage at the same time.
Walking towards the kitchen, I see the Stooges carrying costumes, heading to the playroom!
Costumes, why do they need them? I follow because you know, I’m nosy.
Stopping at the playroom door I smirk when the three of them are shaking out ladybug costumes, yeah you heard me right.
But I’m not even going to ask as I head for the kitchen again because I need a drink, and a minute away from all the crazy that is going on around here.
I'd just finished the bottle of water when Drag rushes into the kitchen. “Ruger, get to BaronsSecure. Your psycho just attacked Penny.”
Now, I don’t wait to hear more. I drop the bottle and run out of the kitchen door, around the building and fire up my girl. I don’t stop to wear my helmet. I am out of the compound, squeezing past the gate before it’s hardly open enough.
Tearing towards town and Penny is the only thought in my head. I’m gonna kill that bitch, even if I have to do time for the rest of my life. She’s passed the point of breathing any longer. I hear hogs behind me, but I don’t slow down. I am single-minded at this point. Get to Penny.
I don’t park my girl. I switch her off and lay her down, all as I’m jumping off and running inside the building. I don’t give a shit if she’s scratched at this point. I can hear screaming, and it’s not Penny, so that’s good to know, or I think it is.
Drake steps out of the canteen area and gives me a nod. “Penny is okay. She’s in her office with Everlee, Wren and Bentley. But this bitch needs to be put out of our misery, and yeah, I said ours. She is really the worst kind of nutjob you could find.”
I smirk at the emphasis he puts on—our—because hearing this bitch screaming shows how far she has gone. I’m pushed to the side as Axel walks past. Now he has that stiff body language that tells anyone that knows him he’s about to blow.
I run through the corridor and reach Penny’s office. Stopping in the doorway when I see her laughing with Everlee, Wren and Bentley.
Noticing me, Penny looks up and gives me a huge smile. “Hi, honey. I gotta tell you, I lit her ass up so good.”
At this point, I know nothing about anything! “What do you mean you lit her ass up? All I know, babe is she attacked you.”
“Oh, well, she was in the back near the trash can, and I took out my trash to save Scarlett some work. But that bitch was waiting outside, and she of course, gave me attitude, but when she lunged at me I used my mace and tasers, and I lit up her ass.” Giggling as she steps away from her desk and over to me.
Wrapping her arms around my waist, I can’t help the fact that my arms automatically wrap around her.
“Did you know that when you are lit up with two tasers you piss your pants?”
Now, I’m not sure where she got the mace, or the second taser, but I’m not going to worry about that either.
Looking at the innocent face Penny is giving me I can’t help but chuckle, kiss her nose, then hug her tightly.
“I can see you are okay, so I’m going to go find out what is happening.
Pres just arrived, and he looked like he was about to lose it. ”
“Okay, I’ll be here when you get back.” Penny walks back to her desk and continues laughing with the others. I blink a moment as I thought she’d be worried and frightened, but it seems my Penny is tougher than I thought she was.
Heading to the canteen where the screeching is still going on I step inside and slowly take a stance to the right of everyone.
Rosemarie is being held by Bones, who gives me a nod.
Magnus leans towards me and mutters, “This bitch is a cuckoo. She has no idea what time of day it is. When she appeared, Wren was with Penny. Penny told Wren to get help, and Bones had just arrived and was about to go upstairs, but he ran outside just in time to see Penny hit Rosemarie in the face with mace, then lit her up with two tasers.” Magnus starts to laugh, which catches Rosemarie’s attention.
Struggling more against Bones, Rosemarie screams. “Ruger, you are mine. That bitch is not having you. I’m gonna kill her and that fucking bastard of hers.” She spews so much hate that it would be frightening if I didn’t know this is her end.
I step toward her and snarl, “You will never be mine. You are going to hell to burn in the fires of your madness…”
Now before I can say or do more, Axel steps past grabs Rosemarie’s head and twists fast. The snap shocks me a little, and I watch as Rosemarie drops to the ground.
Bones rubs his hands together as though he’s getting rid of filth from them.
Then I look up and see Axel, who is in full President mode, smirk.
“That’s all you gotta do with bitches like that, Ruger.
They will never amount to anything. They’ll cause pain every day they continue breathing. ”
Nodding at my Pres, I agree. But it was a shock it was done so fast. Now, I must have said that out loud because Axel chuckles. “No time to mess around, Ruger. Now, Buzz, take the bitch to the pigs or Nell’s, I don’t care just make sure nothing is left.”
“Did you see she’d pissed her pants?” Magnus asks with disgust on his face.
“Yeah. Penny was quite proud the tasers did that,” I reply, and when I look at Magnus, he has a huge smile on his face. I can’t hold it back… I laugh, and so does he. We high-five each other as I pass him, following Pres out of the canteen.
Watching Axel head outside to his hog, along with Drag, BS, and Wings I know that as far as Axel is concerned this is done with.
I have to smile because I just realized Penny called me honey!
This is the first time, and I love it. Mind you, I love her and Punkin.
I'd better show her my delight in having her say, honey.
Maybe the locker room is quiet and I can drag her in there?
